Why would you ever pick leather seats over cloth ones? They get really hot in the summer, really cold in the winter, deteriorate faster than cloth ones and are harder to maintain.

easy to clean when you have kids that spill shit all the time.
>>
>hot in summer
Temporary, ac solves it quick

>Cold in winter
I wear pants and have ass heating

>Difficult to maintain
Definitely not. Super easy to clean and maintain

Finally but not least.. The feeling of luxury, easier to get in and out of. Unbeatable. I had a car with textile seats and upgraded to leather ones. It improved the feeling of quality ten fold
>>
>>23997360
>harder to maintain

Are you retarded? Food and dirt just wipes right off of leather, if it was cloth there would be stains for life even after professional cleaning.

>maintenence

At most you need a can of Armor All leather wipes, if I still had cloth I'd need to shop around for a good carpet cleaner.

My seats are cooled and heated.

Ventilated seats exist and they're REALLY nice.

fatass
>The feeling of luxury
most automotive """leather""" barely is considered leather and usually feels cheap. I'd gladly take wool or velour over leather seats

Ha ha ha

Cloth grips you more, but add leather bolsters and you've got a winner

My dog is my co-pilot. Getting dog hair out of cloth was absolute hell.

That’s funny, the leather seats in my BMW are cooled, heated, and make the car look classy af.

I don't buy leather because I don't like animals to be killed for such a retard reason.
>>

Calm the fuck down, retard, 90% of the automotive 'leather' is PVC, you really won't be able to afford a car with full natural leather.
>>
>>24001170
My Lexus has about 100 square yards of leather in it. All three rows of seating are leather, leather dash. Smells like a slaughterhouse.

I work in automotive trim design, my thoughts below:
>Most modern cloth used in cars is extremely durable, but is rough to the touch. (the full-pile fabrics of old were durable as well though 3x expensive as the modern synthetic knits)
>Varying amounts of leather are used on “leather seats”
>cheap leather seats have leather only on the center portions of the back/cushion and the rest is vinyl (extremely common)
>The nicest leather seat I know of is the Ford F-150 King Ranch. Full construction of 5oz leather, no vinyl. Even the more expensive Platinum/Limited F-150 seats do not use as much/as nice of leather.
>I also understand the Ram 1500 has great seats but i havent had much hands-on with them
>Comfort wise, high quality leather is superior
>There are fancy new developments in vinyl to improve breathability and stretch but in general vinyl does not allow moisture to pass through and does not stretch. Vinyl is easily the least comfortable of the three major trim types.
>A lot of people complain about leather seats in the summer and don’t realize that most of the seat is vinyl. Leather has similar issues but is not as bad as vinyl in the summer.
>Get used to electric vehicle OEMs calling their seats “vegan leather” and retaining leather prices for them.
>A lot of people think they can tell the difference between leather and vinyl but the easiest way to see is to look at the underside of the material— if the material is laminated with foam scrim, that is vinyl. If the material is simply edge-sewn to a foam backing (or has raw leather surface) that is leather.
>Even after working with these materials for years, there are times where I can’t immediately tell whether the material is leather by only feeling the a-surface
>>
>>24001170
don't worry it's vegan leather

I completely agree, I'm hunting for a used odyssey rn and the leather looks like shit in every model. I'll stick to it in summer and it feels frigid in the winter

How about you cope for having your family lineage end with you, what a joke. Oh well, it'll be good to know your weak genes won't be around in the future.

Welcome to the club, anon. The thing about leather is it's only really comfortable to the driver. Leather has a kind of memory and can get quite comfortable, and the driver often has amenity like heated and cooled seat, and heated steering wheel. It's the passengers that suffer, because their seats never quite fit them correctly - it's not being used enough to have that memory. Leather isn't that hard to maintain, it's just different sprays and wipes.
