Amazon deliveryfag, here.I don't understand why people (other delivery drivers) hate the Nissan NV vans and rather take the Sprinter or Transit vans, instead. In my opinion, these vans aren't so bad.
>>23225942Do you have to pay the repair bills? Also, what do you make a week doing amazon deliveries ?
>>23225942how many packages have you stolen in the past month
>>23225942Did you laugh at me when you saw the "20 pounds of pussy and ass" sticker those stupid chinks put on the plain brown box
>>23226584>"20 pounds of pussy and ass"who is selling that?
>>23226571No, the third-party company I work for has an on-site mechanic that takes cares of any repairs. We will get written up if we get our vans stuck and have to get a tow truck to get it out.I earn $15/hr and get paid biweekly. Worked 69 hours for the current pay period.>>23226575None.>>23226584Never saw it.
>>23225942The long nose>>23226997>Worked 69 hoursGiggity
>>23226997Do you get time and a half pay over 40 hours?
>>23226997>none Don’t lie, you probably tempted to steal some scalpers ps5/Xbox series x
>>23227017I don't know, since I just started last month. I'm only starting to work 33-35 hours since last week.>>23227052I'm not able to determine what the contents are inside Amazon boxes and I have no interest in the new consoles, at the moment. I hardly play my XBone anymore.
>>23225942I've seen the inside of Amazon delivery trucks and I've come to the conclusion that Amazon workers are subhuman scum.I'd hate to see how they live.
>>23227154Drivers are required to clean up any trash they leave during their shift.
>>23225942>Amazon deliveryfag, here.READ THE FUCKING SIGN, SHITHEAD.
>>23227674Unless it says anything about ringing the doorbell/knocking/calling, I'll follow whatever anyone's sign or instructions says, regarding delivering. If there are no instructions for where the package should be placed, I'll put the package by the front door, take a picture of it and confirm delivery, then move on to my next stop.
>>23227674You are in the wrong here. No one has time to check for signs.Put that instruction on the package fag
>>23228665I have noticed a significant amount of instructions are outdated and do not make sense for the delivery, and they never bothered to remove it.
>>23225942Those nissans aren’t too bad, but for taller drivers they aren’t the best. I much prefer the Chevy vans
>>23228660>>23228665There's a big sign on the wall saying 'DELIVERIES'. That means deliver stuff there, not hand it to some random dumbfuck that I then have to chase down. You 'gig economy' types are all retards who can't hold down a real job, and it shows.
>>23225942I just hate working on them because the lug nuts are the retarded chrome cap kind that swells up, and the original socket size doesn't fit anymore but the next size up is too big. So you have to either hammer on a socket on every goddamn lug nut then hammer the lug nut back out of it, or shell out for x.5 size sockets which still aren't always quite the right size and are still a pain to work with. Yes I'm bitter. We had a customer with one that came early every Sunday morning to get a tire rotation but didn't understand why he needs to buy new lug nuts even though we explained it to his retarded ass every goddamn time and spineless management made us suffer through it anyway. Then he finally did replace them with the same fucking chrome cap shit that's just gonna swell up again.
>>23229090If you're talking about a business there's a difference between a sign saying 'Place deliveries underneath this sign' and a sign just saying 'Deliveries' which most would interpret as 'huh, this must be the general area where the delivery is to be made, let me ask a nearby person for a signature and hand the package off directly so it doesn't go misplaced'
>>23226584i thought it was 40 pounds not 20
>>23229136Oh you also have to do a TPMS relearn and sit there forever airing the front tires up to 80 and letting air out of the rears to 60 (before rotating them) so the light will go off, every time.
>>23229140So, you're a lazy retard?Guess that's why you don't have a proper job.
>>23225942Nissan can't be any worse than the fucking Ram Promaster.Fucking thing has a huge fucking windshield, but still has gigantic blind spots thanks to the fuckhuge A pillars and doorframe. And then it has these stupid windows by the door mirrors that fog up/mist over making it impossible to use the mirrors in shit weather. .Has a telescoping wheel, but no tilt.
>>23229090>There's a big sign on the wall saying 'DELIVERIES'What part of "I'll follow whatever anyone's sign or instructions say (unless you're wanting me to knock/ring/call)" did you not understand?>>23229026I'm not a fan of the classic van style of the Express. Not ever since these new van styles came out.>>23229136Not sure what that has to do with driving a company-owned vehicle. As long as it's not my shitbox and I don't have to cover expenses, like fuel, I'll drive anything, anywhere.I don't plan on working on any vans, ever.>>23229140>let me ask a nearby person for a signatureWe're not allowed to have anyone sign for a package, unless the package is supposed to be handed to a doorman or receptionist.>>23230383>Ram PromasterI've never driven one, but our managers only allow short people to drive those vans.
>>23225942I use to have one some years ago to deliver baked goods. Used it few times to move kitchen equipment too. I hated how unstable it is in highway. With little bit of wind I can feel the top moving back and forth
>>23231013That happens with any high-rise/sleeper van. I would say the Sprinter is the worst with this.
>>23227052EU is such a shit hole that you can't even trust their delivery drivers to not loot your package.
>>23226571its illegal to make an employee pay for vehicle repairs.
>>23231074doesn't happen here, friend.are you perhaps referring to the eastern side of europe?
>>23231084Did not know if he was a contractor who owned the van
>>23231095I'm employed through a third-party employer, who is contracted through Amazon. The employer owns 15 Sprinter vans, 5 step vans, and rents 20 Transit, Promaster, and NV2500 vans.Drivers do not pay out of pocket for fuel and must report any issues with the van they're driving. The company will pay for towing for any disabled or stuck vans, but the driver will get written up for getting the van in such a state - we've been told not to drive on driveways, especially dirt and gravel driveways, since the vans are long and heavy, which can make maneuvering on loose surfaces difficult.
>>23231108Oops. Glad i play PC.
>>23225942>Amazon deliveryfag, here. You guys in the white vans sure do drive aggressively to meet schedule. I don't mean road rage aggressive, but more like taking shortcuts. Just the other day, I was heading west. The white delivery Ram was heading east and needed to turn north (left turn) at the traffic light. Instead of getting into the left turn lane to wait for the left turn signal, he continued east thru the intersection and then about 100 feet past the intersection, he made a U-turn right in the roadway. He was now heading west, and made a right turn at the intersection. He did this basically to avoid stopping at the traffic light to make a left turn.
>>23231282https://www.vg247.com/2020/11/20/ps5-amazon-pre-orders-stolen/Maybe drivers of other delivery services steal the packages.
>>23231282It was probably just routine/habit for the driver. Saving just a couple minutes wouldn't exactly help them complete their route sooner - it's like trying to go over the speed limit to save time when it actually doesn't... not in traffic.
>>23225942Thoughts on Amazon's new EV delivery Van's by rivian?
>>23231857As long as I can drive comfortably in it and it never breaks down or runs out of charge during shift, I don't care much about it.
>>23225942Fuck Transits. I'm a fedex driver. They put me in a transit my first day solo on a route with a combination of older rural homes and new subdivisions. Went up someone's half mile long gravel driveway and got stuck. The fucker wouldn't go up and when I tried to back down, it slid like it was on ice. It took a tractor and 2 4x4 pickups to get me unstuck. >>23226997>written up for getting stuckThats fucking lame. When I got stuck, my manager looked at me and said "yeah, we aren't using these any more" and the Transits were gone the next day.
>>23231361did he was ok?
shhh, don't tell that to anyone, but I do like NV2500s and kind of want one
>>23231074In the US, you have 'porch pirates' when incompetent drivers dump packages by the door and flee.
>>23233320"Put package by door and leave" is policy right now. And when the kung flu combined with Christmas has me at a 175% workload compared to 18 months ago, I'm not taking the time to find a hidden place to leave your mail order dinners, dog food, and snake oil supplements. Move out of the ghetto if people are stealing your shit.
>>23233279That looks cool
>>23233366>dog foodI work in a fulfillment center, fuck people that order 50lbs bags of dog food or cases of cat litter.
>>23233393I had 9 65lb boxes of dog food for 1 person the other day. I should have shit on their doorstep on principle.
>>23233403people like you do not deserve a job
>>23233843why don't you try doing it before telling whoever deserves it or notI bet you've never worked
