Tillamook, racked about 230 miles today, which on my S40 has my ass chapped. Had a blast, and the new exhaust has been worth it. Now to get some new jets.
Although, I was very sad. My clock that was stuck to my old shit clock fell off on hwy 26 when the crystal of the old clock popped put.

/dbt/ why is the google captcha so interested in motorcycles? I know it's being used to train some sort of AI, but why does it need to identify motorcycles? Some sort of self driving vehicle that doesn't want to kill riders?

what's up with wiki's article of the FZ1 saying '06-'07 frames are prone to cracking?

>>

Are underbones like the Cub technically scooters?
>>
>>22725069
The early ones with pedals are actually mopeds. But i guess the newer ones are more akin to motorcycles than scooters or mopeds.
>>
>>22725051
Alot of stress on the frame when you are hitting speeds over 208mph
>>
>>22724997
How hard/expensive would it be to get a sportster that still has one of the hard mounted engines and do a build just like the OP?
>>
>>22725075
I was trying to ask a more serious question though. there's an '07 FZ1 for sale near me and I'm wondering if there's any point in even looking at the bike if its prone to cracking. I'm not planning on going 208mph though
>>
>>22725096
Can defiantly be hit or miss, that one in particular might be perfectly fine. But its typically best to avoid certain years if its really a common problem.

You could always just check it out and if it has no crack it might be okay, but you have too remember theres a chance it could crack on you especially if you are popping wheelies and stuff.

I keep ending up with tenders on my wheels. Does it really matter if you lean far enough to use the whole wheel? I mean, it's just that most of the time I don't even need to learn or turn that far when making turns/curves. I've only been riding for about a month now.

There's a few turns I could probably make or do better but most of the time even when I do lean as much I am willing, it doesn't feel useful. Am I doing something wrong somehow?

Don't worry about tendies, only faggots who care more about lean angle than actually going fast think you gotta scrub the rear down to the edges. Track guys and racers intentionally try to keep around 1/8 an inch unused as their emergency tire. Nothing is worse than being leaned over, realizing you need to lean more because of a hazard, but being out of tire. If theres anything to brag about, it's tendies on the front tire.

Pic related. Scott Redding's bike. Perfect tire management.

Replaced the cracked front brake lines and caliper. It was rusted to shit from years of road salt in the winter rides to school, and the brakes were constantly engaged, couldn't move it without the front tire just sliding.

If any manufacturer is willing to experiment with colors it's Harley. I'd bet money that over the years HD has had more color schemes than any other manufacturer. In fact it's a point of pride for Harley fans.
>>
>>22726156
I wasn't trying to be rude or imply you are a bad person, but the scooter tends to attract users that are not maintenance minded and typically only think of the utility that the scooter gives them. Sure there's plenty of scooter riders that are responsible and care for their stuff but the idea of a scooter rider in my head is a person who wants a cheap ride and views the vehicle like a house appliance.

Been looking at z400's for a starter bike. I really like the 2019 red the most, but I'm holding out to see if 2021's model brings a tft like the z650.

Why not just buy a used model of the bike you want? You're likely to ding up the new bike and you'll have to handle break in maintenance.

i just bought a ninja 400 and love it. owned it 2 days only but already put 100 miles on it lol. that 600 mi service is gonna come up a lot sooner than i thought! i like the N400 better than the Z in looks, but they are nearly the same bike. just remember that u will get not as much wind protection from the Z as the N. Also, if you ever plan to track the bike, literally every single rider in motoamerica junior cup except one is riding ninja 400s. The other bike is a cbr500r and he finished 18th last season. If youre worried about seating position, the ninja 400 has the same seating position as the Z400 EXCEPT that the handle bars instead of going straight out they sweep back and down slightly. I didnt really notice the difference too much when i sat on both. One thing to keep in mind is that stock from factory 400 bikes have a clutch weak point. 18 and 19 model clutches have a design fault, but 2020 this has been fixed, but excess wear can still occur. Norton motorsports sells parts to solve this for like 300 bucks if you do the work yourself. Other than that, its the perfect bike for me so far..

400s are in high demand, both Z and N. I view this as a good reason to start with a 400.. Much easier to resell a 400 and get most of your money back if you decide to go up later to a 900 or 1000 than it is to sell a 650 or something. I mean you spend 10k on a 650, how much you gonna get back.. 4 or 5k maybe? You buy a 400 and spend like 5500-6k and you sell it for 4k still basically havent lost any money hardly at all. I dont think a 650 makes much sense. The 400 can already do like 120mph in the top end and handle highway speeds easily.

you cant go wrong with a 400, either Z or N. If you buy an 18 or 19 make sure the first you do is get the 2020 clutch parts to fix the design flaw with the clutch. That fix only costs like 30 bucks. My philosophy was to buy new since it was barely any more money to buy new, and i got to be the only one whos ever ridden or worked on it. But if you are strapped for cash, a used is fine. Im in Texas and top speed on the highway legally can be as high as 90mph, so i needed a bike that could handle that, and the 400 does the job easily. Good luck bro!

Me on Saturday in the UK
>Oxford hoodie 2
It has light padding and I brought a back plate for it.
You'll come to realise, if you come off ya bike at 100mph it's wont make much diffrence, you're probably guna die, but at least get padding for the lighter/slower falls.

Go to shops, try shit on, you can just open your zip and let the air flow in while wearing a heavy leather jacket.

Buy what you want and what you like the look of.

Check out the armored hoodies from RideRich. They're good for cool weather and short jaunts in warm weather. Water resistant, kevlar lined, armor in the right places. I went down at 45mph and nothing even came close to getting through the kevlar.

Only downsides is the zippers aren't YKK and it's water resistant, not water proof. It survived the early and late rainy season of Washington when the rain was light. Wouldn't ride it through heavy rain though.

>2010 VFR 1200
>New engine mounted last year, under warranty
>Hyperpro suspension
>Akrapovic exhaust, flashed ECU
>LSL superbike handlebars (so more upright seating position
>4450 EUR
Should I go for it bros? Seems like the perfect combination of sport, touring, and DD.

You can get away with a leather summer jacket in the milder parts of winter. Keep your extremities warm and you'll feel more warm, too: heated grips or gloves help, get some cheap textile overpants to keep your legs warm, double up on socks if possible, and get something to cover your neck. The jacket itself is least important to me, just stuff more layers underneath.

So there's an 83 Honda 750 Interceptor for sale near me, but all I read about them is camshaft issues. Would it be worth it to take a plunge and try and buy it as low as 1k?

I mean I like retro jap graphics as much as the next guy, but japs are notoriously conservative with their color schemes.

Not really, but I started out on a small supersport and the main reason to leave that was my wrists and back.
