Post pictures and discuss flying aut/o/s

>>1961100>>1961100What a sexy beast
I may never fly at supersonic speeds ever in my lifetime. RIP Concorde
>>1961103forgot your pic, homie
>>1961100This is not transportation, have fun with your ban
T H I C C
>>1961105what was with the soviets and giant helis
>>1961108the need to transport ICBMs around the vast territory of the USSR without needing to build airfields or roads/rail lines
no plane is more A E S T H E T I C
>>1961111shit I meant to post picrel
for me, it's the Bearcat
I was a mechanic on the flight line at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily from 2001 to 2004. Saw pretty much all Nato aircraft close up, including top secret aircraft that had no markings.
>>1961113no
>RQ-180Think it's cool that this is this is the only picture ever taken of a drone that's been flying for over 10 years
>>1961111>queue Highway to the Danger Zone>>27189724shut up faggot
>>1961118I think I prefer the DCs painted, but I'll admit Ive never seen a polished one in person though. Probably looks incredible flying by.
aesthetic or no?
>>1961111I do like twin engines but it looks weird with them so far apart
>>1961120better looking than the Russian knock-off
>>1961117That's the first pic taken of the B-21, which has been flying a lot longer than they get on.
>>1961121does look weird
>>1961111And what a combat record!
>>1961111yeah
>>1961121Looks like an inspection panel flew off
>>1961123Is it? I believe it could be true. I get that it could be the B-21 because of the dual exhaust, but the RQ-180 is reportedly of similar size and it looks like this B-21 is flying upside down, where that ventral hump could be the RQ-180's housing for holding a radar array. Still cool that there are no official pics of the RQ-180
>>1961100based threadI got banned on /k/ for a jugs joke about the p47... really steams my veggies
>>1961129>jugs jokepost it, negro
Saw this in Arkansas when I was out for a pleasure flight. He was on his way home from a show in North Carolina.
>>1961114also the Tigercat
>>1961130Oh, it wasn't funny at all, but an anon was asking why the p51 mustang always overshadows the p47 in films. I say it's because modern society is anti BIG JUGS because jewish subversion favors a large posterior.
>>1961133> why the p51 mustang always overshadows the p47 in filmsbecause the P-51 is an objectively better looking plane
>>1961134jeez that looks good
>B-36Pretty insane that the US built almost 400 of these monsters and they never saw combat
>>1961135yep. The P-51D is probably the most beautiful airplane design of all time
>>1961137My one gripe is the bubble canopy. I prefer when it lines up with the rear fuselage
>styled like a large military aircraft but it's smolI just think they're neat
>>1961114The local airfield I work at has one of these in a hanger. Never seen it fly. however there is this other dude who has some chinese military fighter from the same time that he's been restoring. He often talks about how it's better built now than it was new.
>>1961139NEAT
>>1961134>>1961137Something about the simplicity of the lines of the jug does it for me.
>>1961138Im the opposite. I prefer P51 with the bubble, in fact I think its one of the few planes of that era that look great with it.The Thunderbolt on the otherhand I like infinitely more in its 'razorback' version.
>>1961144>>1961144Repost your picture, brah
The new kid. Pretty easy to tell apart from the B2, single point in the back instead of a zig zag.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAWr6BC_A4w
>>1961103No reason why supersonic airplanes won't be developed. They're cool and there's a demand to fly them once they become safe. You might not afford it though but that's on you.
>>1961123>>1961128It's an RQ-180. The B-21 is subtly different because it needs to actually carry bombs. Different airframe requirements, see >>1961218
>>1961311>They're cool and there's a demand to fly them once they become safe.safety was never the problem with supersonic travel, the big problems are noise and high operating cost
>>1961112this is what the MiG-25 was built to intercept
>>1961122>single engine jetlet>twin engine beast>knock offok, kid
>>1961139couldn't they add any more unaerodynamic appendages?
>>1961110the real, unsong hero workhorse of the Battle of Britain. but spitfires got the better looks, so they became the media darling..
>>1961112Beautiful
>>1961120Very aesthetic
New Jetblue livery
>>1961127that's the refueling socket, it's about to meet a tanker
>>1962468Huh, odd placement for that. I would think it'd be immediately in front of the pilot like all other planes I have seen.
>>1961100Why are cfI's always the worst fucking people
