*blocks ur bike lane*
>>1867309>ride through it anywaynot my fault, this traffic jam is the simply the consequences of the choices of the city planners and elected officials>get KSI'dskill issue bro, should have left a package with photographs, video footage, and passwords to your social media platforms for your next of kin to hit the media circuit
>>1867309Ur has bike lanes?
>>1867314don't need one, a totally organic walkable community
>>1867309Forget bike lanes, how would a Pedestrian even cross the street there?
>>1867364by getting gud
Build a tunnel under it
>>1867309roundabouts are a perfect place to ride in the street because everyone's going slow af anyway>>1867364>42.506423° -83.760149°It's an interstate exit with some gas stations and fast food shitholes, there's nothing there a pedestrian would need anyway.
>>1867309What are you talking about? That whole thing IS the bike lane.
>>1867408Ur mom is a bike lane
>way! A rotary! However will I nagivate it!!!1Bitch ass
Build a bridge over it
>>1867440i hate my country for doing this
>>1867447You'll get over it.
>>1867309these are easy as fuck to ride through. you just....YIELD TO CARS just like it says on the road ya doofs.
>>1867466Can you provide an example of a road sign that says yield to cars?
>>1867474Does this count?
>>1867481i'M a suicidal maniac so i'd put my body on the line and leave it up to you to decide if you want to kill me or not. your move
>>1867474you take that reddit ackually stuff somewhere else retardo.you have to yield to cars before entering the roundabout as does any vehicle entering the roundabout. now shush you got your (you)
>>1867488>>1867474I made you a chart to help you not get killed by a car and maybe make some friends
>>1867491Gonna make a lot of friends, while they are sitting behind my ass in the middle of the lane, not willing to move unless I see a wide enough gap in the traffic doing 50 km/h.But I'm a patient soul, waiting doesn't bother me one bit. I'm at the front of the queue, after all.
>>1867496>not willing to move unless I see a wide enough gap in the traffic doing 50 km/h.This Eurobong has people doing 30mph around traffic circles? Did them Duke Boys come over to Europe with the General Lee?(This is superior to 4 way stops because the cars keep moving you just wait until you can fit in. On a 4 way stop you are always watching out there isn't some dipshit who never stops and goes through at 50 km/h
>>1867488>calls me retardo>obviously didnt bother reading the drivers ed manual.Cars should always yield to cyclists and pedestrians. Its literally in all 50 state drivers handbooks.I see you've got plebbit on the brain. Have fun with that.
>>1867440I will now loiter on your residential footbridge
>>1867309ok il hop directly through the middle eat shit cagies
>>1867364>Forget bike lanes, how would a Pedestrian even cross the street there?make eye contact with drivers and wave as you begin walking in their path... if you see them slowing their vehicle then continue crossing, if not, then back up and wave down the next driver
>>1867392This is honestly the solution. If America wasn't too stupid to build nice ped/bike underpasses instead of nothing or 17 story overpass behemoths, this wouldn't be a problem. The Netherlands uses a lot of ped/bike underpasses.
>>1867440>should we put the traffic that needs 18' of clearance on top or bottom of the traffic that needs 9'>clearly we should build massive structures to raise human powered traffic 25' feet into the air instead of digging a small trenchNo idea what they were thinking, especially considering they use a shit ton of underpasses.
>>1868017They were probably thinking "wow this is so much cheaper".
>>1868017Cities Skylines was probably involved.
>>1868017They were probably thinking>fuck the homeless and drug users—no shelter, no quarter
>>1868017An elevated roadway for heavy vehicles has to be a lot more expensive than one for people and bikes, so the extra height presumably wasn't a huge deal. There's also a lot more car lanes there than the underpass posted upthread so there might be a certain road width at which it makes more sense to elevate pedestrians rather than building an underpass.
>>1867309not my problem
>>1868015It's because that's a solution which is way too expensive. Like lets just double the amount of concrete and steel we're going to use and spend millions on burrowing into the ground just to make the roundabout marginally more tolerable while multiplying its vulnerability to shit like earthquakes or other natural disasters. Then repeat that for every awful intersection of every city. The truth is US cities can barely stay solvent paying for infrastructure upkeep at the moment, and you believe they can just spend more? The US budget deficit isn't just an abstract number, it has real consequences and those consequences will get even worse when times are tough. I suppose it might work if we could somehow ensure that never happens, but we can't. The Netherlands has like 1/10th the number of intersections which would require an underpass as the US does, so not an argument. These things will never come to America.
>>1868017They were thinking>women get raped in pedestrian tunnels
>>1867440that is fucking sick although it's clear it creates an unnecessary hill to ride up for cyclists which is bullshit, and going under usually does that too. These things should be designed so it's flat for cyclists and cars go down and come up, regardless of who is on top.
>>1868310Cheapest option (other than keeping everyone on a level) is a bridge for cyclists.
>>1868310>although it's clear it creates an unnecessary hill to ride up for cyclists which is bullshit, and going under usually does that too. good lmao. cyclists deserve to suffer.
>>1870693Found the fatty.
>>1867309>roundaboutamericans fear this
>>1867484I would gladly run over a biker and then drive away like nothing happened. I own a garden hose.
why does it look like it was designed by a toddler? lol
>>1867309we can ride through roundabouts just fine, mutt. stop projecting your own insecurities.
>>1870837watching this confuses me so much
>>1870837>>1871124>What? Only a single lane in each direction? Inconceivable!
>>1870837I don't understand.
>>1871807probably the first roundabout in an area that has never had a roundabout, and the locals being confused
>>1871895>and the locals being confusedThe locals don't even know which side to drive on before approaching the roundabout. But seeing the piss poor parking job in one of the nearby lots, this country just sucks at driving.
