>I'm totally not desperately jealous of people with cars, I swear
>>1816029can you guys stop pretending that people want to buy these shitty things?
a rickshaw, only with more plastic
>>1816029the future you want already existsit's just that big oil is doing all that it can to deny it from happening in the westbut don't worry, it'll happen eventually. SUVs and pickup trucks can only get so big before people realize how stupid and pointless they are. the bubble is about to burst.
Looks like a massive piece of shit. I'd rather drive an electric Smart.
>>1816087it's so stupid moving a 2 ton hunk of steel back and forth when you could use 500kg or less
>>1816088you're just a spoiled consoomer
>>1816090and the only reason people have for it is "muh safety", which is hilarious because roads are unsafe precisely because of them
>>1816033Can you stop pretending that a 4,000 pound appliance to move just one human around that is so dangerous it requires insurance, a fairly heavy police presence and even a network of traffic cameras doesnt make sense?
is an electric rickshaw still a rickshaw, or is it a tuk tuk?
>>1816090Beat me to it.
At a certain point pedals on these things come across as ridiculous. You're driving a light weight golf cart and making no meaningful contribution to its propulsion.
This shit right here, the Podbike is a game changer. If the company will deliver these things at a reasonable price (iirc preorder price was 5000 euro) it's over for cars
>>1816166how's college
>>1816188I dont know. Havent been there for decades. Enjoy those assumptions of yours. Kiddo.
>>1816188I remember when laser disc arcade games where the latest and greates thing. I learned to program in extended basic on a Ti-994a. Payphones where everywhere. Every mall, convenience store and grocery store had an obligatory arcade cabinet machine or 3 in front.Ronald Reagan was the clear choice for President. Carter sucked. At least thats what my parents told me.Rick Springfield's career came to a tragic end when Bruce Springsteen stole his thunder for no other reason that their names sounded the same.Getting the picture yet? Kiddo?Btw the US spec Lamborghini Countach looked ridiculous with the additional bumpers.
(nodding) leaded gasoline fumes
>>1816218Nope. Leaded gas was phased out in 1979. Keep reaching for that 1up feeling. Kiddo.
a mouldy old 1-up? jeez, gramps, i was hunting pokemon creatures!
>>1816222I get it. You're embarassed from being called out about your assumptions. Time to stop making them.
>>1816166I make plenty of sense considering you can go anywhere you want at any time at any distance at high speed. Find me any other from of transport that fits all those criteria
>>1816090>>1816105This>>1816188I’m sure you wonder that a lot, it’s no surprise lead poisoned high school dropout boomers are all car-brained.
>>181622638,000 people would disagree with what you just said, but they cant. They died in vehicle related fatalities last year on US highways and roads.
Lead poisoning is alive and well. Its in the drinking water.
>>1816029>I can't fit in that! I NEED AN SUV ARE YOU TYING TO KILL ME YOU STUPID BIGOT!!!
>>1816238God fat people are unironically responsible for nearly everything bad on this fucking planet

>>1816338meds, post-haste
>>1816347Still reaching for that 1up feeling. And you didnt even bother trying to be original. Quite sad, really.
maybe one day transit fags will figure out why people like cars so much. >becuz muh fatwrong answer
>>1816378It's part of it, don't even try to say >muh freedumsbecause 90% of people use their car for >Work>Store>Family within a few miles>Random hookup on gay phone appAlmost nobody actually uses a cars long range more than once or twice a year.
>>1816403yeah and you can go do those things whenever you want. Doing groceries with public transport is shit. Some rickety fake solar car that goes 15mph isn't a compelling replacement. The only alternate form of transport I believe in is pevs but even then you should have a car in most places.
>>1816404People do fine in places with subways and proper bus routes. I guess we should just torch all suburbs.
>>1816403>Almost nobody actually uses a cars long range more than once or twice a year.maybe in your little bug community
>>1816407Why do people love to pretend that they don’t live in semi-urban if not urban places? You might not anon but you are the exception. I almost never drive more than 40 minutes from my house- I have tons of forests and a few mountains in that range, and several cities including major regional ones. The only thing that’s a longer drive is the beach, and some are not far outside that range. A lot of that can also be accessed by bike paths and commuter rail. A car makes zero sense for driving into the city if you’re doing it by yourself when you account for fuel and parking costs. Just think of the amount of grief saved from having to drive in environment trying to support too many cars traveling at high speeds through living communities and even getting there in the first place.
>>1816413>you are the exception. I almost never drive more than 40 minutes from my house- I have tons of forests and a few mountains in that rangeare you on crack right now or do you actually believe that I'M the exception in this case and not you?
>>1816406places with subways are probably 0.0001% of where people live. Also fuck cities
The future is now old man
>>1816029Have you never heard of micro cars?
>>1816187YOU VILL DRIVE ZE POD
>>1816421Perfection

>>1817193cute mobility scooter gramps
>>1816293Yes its incredible how insensitive you've gotten towards other people losing their lives for no good reason.
>>1816187I actually did a little bit of diving down the velomobile rabbit hole recently and it turns out that there are actually nice ones out there that make a lot of sense (podbike isn't one of them). There are a lot of things needed to be taken into consideration for a velomobile to not suck - for example things such as having adequate ventilation that is balanced with weather protection, balanced weight with total volume, and the drivetrain of course. The best one I found was this Orca by a Dutch company called Flevo. It's all carbon fibre, features an electric assisted three wheel configuration with two wheels front and one wheel back (the only suitable setting for these things imo as electric assist is mandatory considering their size, having more than three wheels produces too much friction, and anything besides 2wheels front/1 back is not a stable configuration)But yeah, pretty smart when you think about it. You have ultimate efficiency, along with comfort and protection of a personal enclosure, ability to easily haul luggage. I wouldn't be surprised if one day these things will start becoming more common. https://youtu.be/CURGm-BcaaM >>1816421>>1817193These would be cool if the norm for electric scooters was that they could handle rain and water in general. But as far as I'm aware most can't.
>>1817222Cons: Expensive
>>1817222those scooters have an ipx rating. They should be fine in everything except a tornado
>>1817218it goes 60mph
>>1816029>>1816105I've pointed this out so many times -- humans were supposed to have evolved into the cars, just like mitochondria merged into the cells. This peaked in the Cold War, when the entire world was in danger of becoming irradiated and unsurvivable. Now y'all fucking tree hippies are going to sabotage the whole plan.Everybody, please forget that this thread and follow the masterplan. It is dangerous to be outside. Your car has an air filter. It is a very nice place. Please spend more time there.
>>1817262LoL nope.
>>1816166Yes you're right, that's why I ride a motorcycle:)
>>1817293Those frames seem very unpleasant to pedal on. Why aren't they just pure electric motorcycles? Is it to skirt legislation?
>>1817419no, its purely to torture the rider
>>1817262>humans were supposed to have evolved into the carsThey made a bunch of movies about this.>>1817419>Is it to skirt legislation?Yes. Purely this.
>>1817191normal cars are already pods, might as well use an efficient and environmentally friendly pod
>>1817222>mentions Dutch manufacturer of velomobile>it's not velomobielAnon you don't chase good looking velos. You chase performance and cost.
>>1817497Forgot pic
>>1816241Fat tax when?? Seriously
>>1817499have you considered that maybe part of the reason why these never took off is because nobody wants to drive a giant yellow dildo
problems with driving bike>poor weather>if you can't go to shower in the destinatinosolution>electric assisted velomobileI would if it wasn't so expensive.
>>1817219damn you're right. we should just stay indoors permanently so we don't die for no good reason
itt: people trying to reinvent the car
>>1817529>sees phallic shape>thinks of penises
>>1817551Theres more of that binary thinking I keep seeing. Why are humans like this?
>>1817624stop worrying about dying so much. You can't eliminate chance of death. You can just reduce it until you make everything illegal and you live in the demolition man world
>>1816166absolutely based
>>1816226>anywherewrong>any distancewrong>high speedwrong
>>1817529have you considered that you don't have to call everything elongated a penis in the same way you don't call all round objects a tit?
>>1817262this but unironicallycars are the natural evolution of humanity and car centric cities are objectively better in nearly every metric
>>1817818If you live in a dome with a point at the top you live in a tit house. Deal with it
>>1817775why do bikies need to cope like this? Try actually making an argument
