Platform #2Previous Platform - >>1779600DMU's, EMU's, loco's, steam, narrow gauge, broad gauge. You like 'em, you post 'em.
>>1808269This picture gave me both a hard on and a stroke
>>1808269What the fuck? BASED dutchies
For me, it's cascade green
Purp
tangerine dreams
The old Adelaide Metro livery looked good on trains. Shame they changed it to red to match the new EMUs.Here's a Jumbo. All retired now.
>>1809257And a good old 3000 class, which will probably keep going and going until they run out of spare parts for them in about 15. God knows what they'll do with the Belair Line once that day comes.
>>1808269The E2 Shinkansen with a retro livery to celebrate 40th anniversary of the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen line
>>1808269Wat is deze
>>1809354Will they ever design another Shinkansen as iconic as the jumbo jet 0, 100 and 200 series?
Is there a better steam loco livery?
>>1809427I'm partial to the classic German two tone on account of I'm German and on account of no frills, no high gloss, no pinstripes, just black and red.
>>1809431if you're going black at least go all black
>>1808982Previous scheme, 10 points if anyone recognises it.
>have a heritage railroad and a garbage hauling operation you operate on the same trackage>give them the same livery
This prototype reminds me of the Dutch DM'90.
>>1809431what are the blinders for?
>>1809257>>1809258kino trains, new ones look soulless
>>1809593Smoke deflectors, they deflect the smoke.Very common on German and Japanese locomotives.
>>1809494Victorian Railways with an Erie Railroad-inspired scheme.
>>1812076Whoops, forgot pic.
For streetcars, I like New York’s Third Avenue Railway System
More TARS. Their old deck roof and modern cars looked sharp in the cream and red livery
>>1809370>>1808369>>1808372For anyone wondering about the odd colour combination, my guess is a temporary solution. The 4012 had a special, deviating coating for commercial purposes. When the ICM-IV was refurbished to the ICMm-IV in 2008-2010, they replaced the 'walk through head' with a solid plate. The ICMm lost the ability to connect EMUs - this was decided because the connectivity mechanism was known to be very faulty. Hence, I assume the walkthrough system on this specific ICM was broken and they installed a solid plate instead.(Picture shows the replacement of such frontplate in maintenance yard)
>>1813097>we will never have sponsored trains again
>>1813097I just assumed it mimicked the yellow ends of a British train in Intercity livery
>>1813120huh?

>>1813206
>>1813120WHAT'S BEHIND THE FUCKING DOOR
>>1813225
>>1808982Glad someone posted this. Greatest scheme of all time in my view. Loved seeing these as a kid.
>>1820433honk honk
>>1808269I can't resist.
>>1820467could you give me links to videos of the locomotives if you have any?

anyone have scans of those morning sun books color guides/portfolios?
>>1822490I have a few of those books. They’re pricy but I’ve scored some bargains at train shows.
>>1822984Please don't disgrace this thread or even this board with you revolting excuse of locomotive livery.
>>1822597any scans of them?

>>1827793It's certainly very... blue

What the fuck was the CTA thinking with these new 7000 series railcars? They look like some plastic Chinese knock off of with that goofy looking fiberglass front end design. What was wrong with the timeless stainless steel design that's been in use since forever?
>>1836730What the actual fuck is that. It looks like a toy knockoff version of a NYC A-division NTT
I wish I had the chance to ride the old G1 trains. I was born a year after the Gloucester G-series went out of service, but I heard that due to delivery delays of the H-series trains that these were still in service for a few years. I don't remember such a thing, because I was too young.
>>1836730>>1837790well the shell is chinese...where did they get the blue idea from? it would have looked fine all black or stainless. I guess the platform edges ventra card and logo are blue, but it doesn't match the general brown and silverness of the system
>>1837829I like the corrugated metal tube look.
>>1836730>>1837827Look how they've massacred my boys...
>>1836730>the bodies are manufactured by CRRC after they undercut Bombardier Yeah no wonder it looks like a Chinese toy. The 2400 series concept art from the 1972 unironically looks more modern than this.
>>1837827>ventra cardSoulless compared to the old transit cards iconography. >but it doesn't match the general brown and silverness of the systemNor of the city for that matter. The El and Chicago are mostly antique in character, this weird mismatch of fiberglass and stainless steel wouldn't fit on anywhere because of the obvious art style clash. It would look out of place on a sleek modern metro, it would loo out of place here.
>>1837985Not very fun to ride, windows are tiny. Looks good though.
>>1809427>Is there a better steam loco livery?Yeah, the original GWR green livery.
My favorite
