>born too late to fly on 747s>born too early to not care about 747s
name a better 747 liveryu can't
>>1804534And I'll tell you why: I had a metal play model of it as a child.
>>1804534>name a better 747 liverysure thing
>>1804558Nice tin can, nerd!
>>1804585Nice chart. Good data there. >>1804534CP Air's Orange and silver is Waaaay better.
here's a cargolux 747was very very high in the sky, taken on a 500mm lens and cropped
>>1804851I'd say you are in Frankfurt, Germany. That one looks like its still climbing out, though I can't tell. CLX arrives in my locale in the darkness mostly. Mostly they fly eastwards to Asia, up to VHHH then PANC, to N. America and back to Europe. If this was in the morning, that plane would be about 24 hours into the next day by the time it gets to me. Now here is the question., where the hell am I?
>>1804855photo was taken in north yorkshire, england on the 10th of may
>>1804860That is quite close to my guess, You could have been in N. America. It looks likely that its a flight to/from US west Coast or PANC to Liege, Belgium. Anything East Coast USA would fly a bit of southerly route, but that depends on the jetstream for that day.
>>1804529>born too late to fly on 747sWhat?
>>1804885Name operators that aren't charter, cargo or operating exclusively outside of the western world.
>>1804888WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?Lufthansa still flies Passenger Jumbos. Thats in EUROPE, sounds very wester to me. Also Korea isn't a bad holiday trip if you don't mind the food and the language. They have jumbos too.
>>1804535Based taste. Always a pleasure when the Singapore Girl gives you a welcome hot flannel upon embarkation.
>>1804900Oh, you're right. Unfortunately only transatlantic, which is a serious financial and time commitment if you want to make the most of it.
>>1804902>*that* photothere's like 2 photos of him. pic related, it's the other one.
>>1805662I don't think that is true. You don't buy 19 jumbos solely to serve the transatlantic market. Also there are those that do transpac too.
>>1805714No there is more.
Tap is an airline that almost never gets mentioned.
>>1804902>>1805714>>1805977I-I MUST GAAN, OH GOD FUCKK, HUHGJGUHHGUGHU (SMASHES THROTTLE QUADRANT) I-I-IM GAAANING!!!!! IM GAAANING, IM GAAANINGIM GAAANING
>>1805714>photos taken seconds before disaster
Heh. Nothing personnel, Blowing
>>1806741U have the WHOLE of the porn section to post that and u post it here? on a thread for Jumbo jets? I did see an old film where they used a section of cabin for the sequences, there were also outdoor shots with jumbos in them. Quite sophisticated for an adult film, had a plot line, characters, and an ending where the pilot gets dumped. Kinda uncanny how that compares when you look at today's 2 engine designs.
>>1806910Tell me about the snorkel on that engine pod.
>>1806926its a 707.
>>1806926Only engines 2, 3, and 4 contained all the equipment for pressurization.https://www.707jet.com/systems/pneumatic-system/
>>1806901The tail colours to honor globohomo?
>>1807072Yes its a dive if you ask me.
>>1807087Miss them dearly.
>>1807917Surprisingly tasteful interior considering it was owned by Qatari royalty
>>1804476>air china Trash.
>>1808667Yes they are garbage,
Are any cargo operators out there still using any nose door variants?
>>1810509Nose Door variants are highly sought after in the 2nd hand market.
>>1808034wow fucking racist much? You assume all arabs are as tacky as a cab driver? No shitlord, just look at what MBS is doing with NEOM
>>1810712You're a dumb faggot and should neck yourself pronto
>>1810712Please take this crap to /pol. Jumbos only.
>>1810715NWA had some good liveries.
>>1813175niggas with attitude
>>1815134Yep v sad.
>>1804900>What are you talking about? Passenger 747s are still being flown by this one single airline in the entirety of Europe & North America!Yep. And if you're not German or wanting to go to lesser Korea, you're not flying on a 747.
>>1810501The Incredible Hulk
>>1815203Big deal, but you can still fly one. You don't have to be German to buy their tickets, or Korean for that matter.
BA 149 blown up by Saddam;s army Kuwait.
>>1815285No shit but that does mean traveling internationally, and only to Germany or Korea, both of which are very expensive to fly to unless you’re in Europe or SE Asia. You’d most likely be going out of your way explicitly to fly on a 747, and most people don’t have that in their budget.
>>1816397So, so what? If people like it they'll pay upfront. Most people never flew on jumbos anyways, they were big planes for long routes, that most people didn't need to fly on. So whats the Big deal if you can only fly them long haul, wasn't that what it was meant to do in the first place? There is nothing to stop you from flying around the World Firstclass on 747's if that is what you want and besides that is not what you claimed.>>Name operators that aren't charter, cargo or operating exclusively outside of the western world. As if the Western World is the bastion of high living standards right now. Btw Surveys show that Korea has one of the highest living standards in the World, and their keeping their jumbos for 10 years and dumping their whalejets in 5.
>>1816566My point is jumbos and widebodies in general were used all over the place for domestic hub-hub routes 20 years ago, you didn’t have to plan a vacation around catching a seat on a handful of international routes.
>>1816585Your definition of the Western World is very small indeed if you exclude Europe and Australasia. Your not wrong only you have left of a significant portion of it, which might be misleading. Also hub to hub domestic routes imply that the country is large enough to have domestic widebodies. There are many countries that practiced this, they weren't using jumbos but they were big planes and such routes were short sectors and some were seasonal only.I've flown on such sectors, in Egypt there was a CAI-LXR service using an A300, because the plane was full and there were many tourists. These days the number of competitors and high frequency of service makes up for the seating demand. making big planes obsolete, at least that is what I'm lead to believe.
>>1806889>actually reporting thatKys you are self
>>1818424Actually I reported nothing. I saw the gif and assumed it was porn. You didn't fall for that one did you?
>>1819011I;d buy that for a dollar...........
most based thread type here(sorry photo stolen)
>>1815125Gross. Like a dismembered human corpse.
would you accept sim jumbo's?
>>1816397>>1816566>>1816585I think they'll see a resurgence due to the issues regarding the 777X supply chain and recent A350's having more lax quality control
>>1821326I'll believe it when I see it.
>>1821349Quantas says hello

>>1826314>when your plane can communicate on 3 Hz to 30 Ghz.
>>1826479RIP, apparently the project will be defunded by the end of the year and they've stated they'd be happy for a museum to buy the entire thing so they don't have to gut it out and sell off the parts separately.
>>1826481:( one of the last 747SP
>>1826483Doesn't Las Vegas Sands Corp. have two 747SPs in service?
>>1826655They did at least pre-pandemic.What even goes on on those planes?
>>1826307Isn't that the one that had the side fall off and a load of passengers fell out and got snarged?
>>1827279No, that one is N4713U.
i liked this livery a lot.
>>1829299A lot of people did too, but it wasn't round long enough to be iconic. The battleship grey was somewhat buoyed by the 777, because they were the launch customer, and UA plastered it allover the new fleet. The jumbo didn't look to bad in that, especially with the corrogard taken off the wings. This one is the one I liked, it was on all their jumbos too.
>>1830741I miss serif fonts all over the place, it looked so classy.
Any lexumbergels here?
>>1831873>>18319132 of the biggest operators on the ramp.
>>1804523>even planes have to wear the cuck mask
>>1833176Somebody voted for it. Luckily its just paint.
