Solar. Freakin. Roadways.
>>
>I want more microplastics entering the environment
>>
>>1800244
don't worry anon this was a scam and not physically feasible. A lot of highways have a bunch of empty space to either side of them. Maybe that would be a good place to put solar panels.
>>
>>1800242
Elon Musk fans are so stupid it blows my mind
>>
>>1800244
look all you have to do to solve climate change, which is now your personal responsibility and definitely not the companies poisoning the planet on purpose for profit btw, is to buy a different kind of car that you can put in your driveway next to the house that you own in the suburb where you live in the california sunshine. and look! now you can obey the speed limit even more, because now it's written on the ground using a computer. doesn't that look cool in this cgi rendering of empty streets for you to drive around in?
>>
>>1800242
Retarded. Just stick them on top of the buildings so the buildings don't cast shadows on them.
>>
>a shitton of empty rooftops
>dude let's put solar panels on the rOaDwAys lmao
>>
why would you put them on the rooftops? you can't drive on them there. stupid
>>

>narrow underground car tunnel that has traffic jams
truly a visionary he is
>>
>>1800242
Thinking that the problem with solar energy is in the space for solar panels is retarded on so many levels it's unfathomable.
Meanwhile just ignore all the fucking elephants in the room
>expense of solar panels
>rare metals and minerals needed in their production
>irregular and unreliable power supply
>expense and environmental issues with energy storage
>>
>>1800251
The solar roadways scam wasn't even related to him in any way.
>>
>>1800251
What does solar roadways have to do with elon
>>

it's nonsense, just put a comfy solar roof over parking lot

Where do you think we are?

can the solar panels shoot lighting at the cars
>>

this would be cool with the addition of chargers for electric vehicles.

There's a place near my parents' house that has done this in the dumbest possible way.
They installed shorty posts in the green patch between parking lanes on hillside. They could have built a shady canopy, but instead they built something that modern MEGA trucks are capable of wrecking with their hoods.
>>

Roads and infrastructure are still /n/, /o/ is just on cars themselves.

Are the dozen car/road hate threads on /n/ not good enough for you?

even Africa can do it better

I HATE SUBURBIA

Well they only make profit with cheap production that's poisoning the planet because we buy their stuff and don't demand from politicians to stop the import or mae stricter laws so whe don't have to double check everything.
>>
>>1800242
i loved how they tried to suggest replacing giant electronic hexagons in the middle of the road is easier than patching asphalt
>>
>>1800724
Look at the failed solar roof tiles company Elon embezzled Tesla funds into (defrauding his investors), that didn’t even produce solar power.
He also greatly oversells the capability and efficiency of solar panels, ignoring the actual data from the car shades in the ME and Africa (which are already solar panels) and the manufacture/maintenance costs and emissions of solar technology.
So, while solar roads weren’t musk, they were full of musk-ism.
Plus Thundercuck is against both Elon and solar roadways, for retarded reasons.
>>
>>1800926
Pretend we’re talking about a bike parking lot, covered so your seat doesn’t heat up and/or crack in the sun.
And the same principle applies to covered bus/tram/train stops.

Unironically piston generators are probably the most long term off grid option. Simple piston engines can be very easy to build and maintain, generators are very easy to make, and anyone can produce ethanol.

Ironically, the best truly off-grid option is probably an ethanol-fired piston generator. Ethanol is very straightforward to produce, and piston engines can be very easy to build and maintain.

A better option is a steam turbine. You can build a tesla turbine pretty easily and you can burn whatever you want

>>
>>1800242
Reminder this was literally a scam and the technology does not exist to this day.
Reminder that even if we had the technology the idea is still a flop because road debris, rubber from tires, snow, etc will lower the performance of the panels
Reminder that solar panels need constant cleaning to maintain efficiency
Reminder that solar panels trap heat which would normally leave the earth, thus contributing to global warming greater than any alternative
Reminder that Obama's solar array has never turned a profit, continuously costing more to maintain than it can generate
>>
>>1801127
But they can't water and maintain grass
how strange
>>

By "free country" they meant they are literally giving it away to whatever non white race that wants to replace them
The European descendant citizens in no way have "freedom"
They are born slaves
Clamped, circumcised, vaccinated at birth
The goyim are never free on this earth unless born in the bushes amonst the animals
Society and laws cannot give freedom only take it away

I swear this meme must be some kind of demoralization psyop. "heating water is so played out maaan, it's not cool anymore, it's the current year we have to do better and by better i mean different not necessarily actually better. and if we can't well we just suck and deserve to have our countries wiped out."
Quit falling for it.
>>
>>1802111
Nuclear energy is far more dependable than solar or wind. It is only real solution for replacing fossil fuels. Yet, for some reason so called greens oppose it everywhere. Urban environmentalists that don't care know about electricity more than it comes out of wall socket, ones that in worst case drive electric cars.
>>
>>1805486
Covering roof of electric or hybrid cars with solar panels is enough to run air conditioning and running electronics in passenger compartment. Basically outside of most sunny areas like deserts it energy savings are irrelevant, even there it saves like 0.01l/100km of fuel or fuel equivalent. Basically savings would offset the cost of solar roof in few years and savings on fuel or fuel equivalent might avoid one trip to gas station a year or so if the car is driven a lot. Toyota had solar roof option for Prius at one point, turned out that electric interference from charger would mess up electronics like radios and cell phones, so trying charge drive battery was pointless from the start unless they added so heavy shielding to charger that its weight would cancel fuel savings.

Solar powered car will not be viable unless efficiency of solar panels is improved by several orders of magnitude, until that happens only solar powered cars you are going to see will built by university students to silly competitions from carbon fiber that will weight about as much as bicycle, cost maybe 20k and have speed that is sluggish for a bicycle.

>>
>>1832356
Their claimed numbers are really optimistic. It is light as hell for electric car of its size, so damn thing must use loads of composite structures, its going to be expensive as fuck. Also, manufactured by Valmet Automotive. Seems like they didn't learn from Fisker, at all. Tons of risks involved in renting your factory to a fucking startup that is likely going go way of Dodo in matter of couple years.

>>1800928
