These don't look comfy or luxurious at all
>>
OP here. Okay let's break down what constitutes a premium automobile. You have the obvious stuff, the refined build quality and materials. No corners cut or savings or short cuts in the assembly. Everything geared towards ease of use. They use gigantic V8s, V10s and V12, not for sheer speed but smoothness. The long wheelbase is also to dampen bumps for ultra plush smooth cloud like ride. These cars are often much larger than full size sedans. Land yacht a proper phrase, even though used condesc towards slow lofty cars too cumbersome on small roads. This matters not because no public road is too small unless you're in a Lorrie or Soviet era SCUD missile truck.

Since these cars are after comfort and refinement, not so much speed or performance (although they are incredibly fast) the experience is all about ease of use and enjoying your time in the thing.

I came to the conclusion that this $3299 Electric Beach Cruiser with a 750w motor, capable of propelling the bike to 28mph without pedaling, and 45 mile range at modest speeds, the larger air volume tyres and plus seat all make it akin to a what comes to mind, with comparing to an automobile with the likes of classic British luxury or vintage Cadillac. or at least as close as we can.

Rivendells are the most epic rip off. Imagine selling a bike made of worse steel and equipped with lower quality components than a late 80's early 90's 26er score at 5 times the price of the vintage 26er. Its crazy cause these hipsters and liberals eat em up.
>>
>>1740652
whats wrong you triggered snowflake cuckservative; hate to see other people enjoying nice things? see how easy that was? youre a fucking retard when you fall for political shit like that. you look like a massive faggot. give it a rest.

the only people i see riding rivendells are OLD fucks, 60+, because no one my age can fucking afford one. honestly, they look comfy and well built and the old dudes riding them are always crushing miles and doing overnighters on them.

Not very based of you. Let’s be honest here those guys on the ribs that you see have their French saddlebag loaded with an aero press and a baguette they got on their 3 mile round trip ride to the farmers market. Rivendells are cucked as fuck.

Only reason I brought politics into is cause riv chose to with their “black reparations” discount. I can’t even believe how an office full of beta soi boys thought that was a cool thing to do.
>>
>>1741464
>those guys on the ribs that you see have their French saddlebag loaded with an aero press and a baguette they got on their 3 mile round trip ride to the farmers market.
riding 3 miles to a farmers market, buying a baguette and some nice cheese, and then riding to a scenic spot to brew coffee and eat bread and cheese and maybe some other nice things and chill out sounds extremely based

rigid 90s mtb is only better if it's
>high end
>good condition
>well serviced/ restored
and
>upgraded

that's well outside the means of most people. You have to literally learn to wrench whereas if you bought a new riv it's obscenely expensive but you can just ride it

also, wide 700c tires and rack bosses
both might make the riv categorically superior.

the cheaper more sensible equivelant of the riv is really more like a surly and the difference being no lugs and less boutique shiny components.
>>
>>1741435
you are literally seething about some niche bicycle brand right now though, this is the opposite of just 'doing you'.
>>
>>1741492
Lol working on bicycles and doing a couple google searches is not hard.
>>
>>1741492
All bikes need maintenance. If I had an obscenely expensive riv I'd want to keep it in good condition for a long time, so I'd have to learn to wrench anyway if I didn't know how already. In fact that's essentially what I did.
>buy nice bike
>ride the shit out of it
>don't maintain it
>nice bike is now shit bike
>get new nice bike
>learn to bloody well maintain it this time

Sure you could pay a mechanic do your maintenance for you, but that's going to keep being obscenely expensive, your bike will be out of commission for longer periods of time, and they won't as good a job with the fine tuning as you would simply because they don't have a reason to care.
>>
To have a Rolls tier comfort you need to be almost isolated from the road imperfections, so all the rigidfags are wrong.
You need a full suspension bike with the dampers set up as soft as you can go.
Find the tyres that fit your kind of riding, the wider they are, the more comfortable you will be. And you're set.
But be aware, all this is going to get you a heavy bike.

Thudbuster is heavy. Instead you could have a big black carbon fiber POWER BEAM that also makes your frame more aero.

Reminder that suspension seatposts and softrides only add suspension to your groin, not your feet, so as soon as you go out of the saddle it's like riding a hardtail.

Who gives a shit about bike company optics? They make sick bikes and they are trying to make as much money as possible. They took down the reparation thing bc a bunch of triggered cuckservatives bitched about it, probably their main base ie 60 y/o white dudes. It never even mattered; when have you ever seen a colored person riding a riv? Getting upset over some trivial bullshit a bike company does is lame no matter how you look at it. Its no different to me than some lame ass liberal bike shop dropping cinelli over sexism/blackface adverts or attacking trek for selling bikes to cops or even trying to cancel the crust chick for telling fatties to fuck off. Whenever people start talking about that shit I just roll my eyes. Who gives a fuck?
>>
>>1742682
My 2 ton sedan gets 33 mpg long term average. How many miles can you go on $3.80 of gasoline? Or $3.80 of any substance?
>>
>>1742937
Could elaborate the crust chick? I just hate Nike for their culture they've created and the people that absolutely worship Nike and Jordan shoes
>>
>>1742942
a US gallon of petrol is about 30k kcal. so about an average American meal. I could go a lot longer than 33 miles on that
>>
>>1742944
she runs a bike clothing company kinda piggy backing off the crust brands success. it was aimed for tiny women initially bc she is like under 5' or some kinky shit, but eventually moved onto normal body sizes up to xl. so on some youtube live zoom meeting thing someone asked her if she would do super xl sizes and she basically told them to get fucked, shop somewhere else. Pissed off a bunch of bike shop lame asses.

Sneaker culture is funny to me. Americans love the most trivial shit.
>>
>>1742952
just post her name you fag
>>
>>1742942
You can cycle 33 miles in 1.5 to 2.5 hours. An hour of cycling takes about 500 calories. So for $3.80 you only need an 800 to 1200 calories to beat driving in energy costs, and that's just part of the costs of driving. Also how much CO2 do you produce driving 33 miles? 30 lbs? Because you can cycle hundreds of miles with the extra CO2 you're breathing out.
