Say you were to go shopping with one of these.
Where on earth would you leave it while you're inside the store without having someone steal it?

You would lock it like a bicycle. Did you really need a thread for this?
>>
>>1583583
The frame has no good place for a lock, though.
>>

just leave it unlocked why would anyone take something that's not theirs?
>>

the head tube: theres a big T on top and a long L on the bottom to prevent it from sliding out of a Ulock, or tightly wound chain
>>
>>1583918
>just leave it unlocked why would anyone take something that's not theirs?
so they can sell parts of it to get money to buy other stuff.
becuase they just want to vandalise it and be a nusiance
because they dont like where it i and want it removed
>>

well these people sound like they need a life and a job.
harumph!

Just borrow one and scan the qr code of another one when you're done shopping and ride home

When I see these I can't help but feel like they're the laughably bad first iteration of a great and useful technology. What will the future of these electric scooters look like?
>>
>>1587052
more range, pretty much
>>
>>1587007
>>
>>1588452
>>1587052
IDGAF about range but I'm not carrying around a 40 pound anvil while shopping. They need to make them out of CF or Ti or something reasonable. It literally just needs to have 2-3 miles useful range and overnight charge capability, who the fuck wants to ride a scooter for 15 miles, seriously?
>>
>>1588462
>2-3 miles useful range
lol, that's not even enough for school commute. i see it as a less annoying alternative for cycling
>>
>>1588469
I see it as a faster alternative to walking.

that's literally how NPCs see cycling

Back when i was planning on getting one i bought a shoulder strap in advance

Prolly doesn't work for the heavier models

I rode 43 miles all around the city in one day on my monster scooter, it was great
>>
>>1587052
>What will the future of these electric scooters look like?
Scooters pretty much peaked they have models for every niche within technical possibilities. There is little left to improve, jsut polish models.

>IDGAF about range but I'm not carrying around a 40 pound anvil while shopping.
This is why EUC is superior. Because when you go into the shop it is like little rolling suitcase only it rolls itsels with it's own motor.

>the fuck wants to ride a scooter for 15 miles, seriously?
Those who ride for fun. Around 50 miles can be considered as plenty, it's 4-5 hours of ride , "all day", further you become tired, less you can roll more. If you use it just for fixed everyday commuting sure whatever range covers that is enough.
>>
>>1584109
Do you know how janky and terrible that would feel to ride? Forget potholes or cracks on the pavement, you would feel every grain of sand you run over on this dinky toy
>>
>>1583544
I have one of those non electric ones that can be folded and carried on your back very easily, been going to shops with it
>>
>>1590956
Electric ones at least twice as bulky and 4 times heavier.
>>
>>1591116
4 times in an exaggeration
>>
>>1591116
On average they weight like 15 kg, that's nothing unless you're a skelly
>>
>>1583544
Why not ride around on it in the shop, pulling a string of shopping trolleys as you go? It's just the stand up version of the mobility scooters the fatties use.
>>
>>1583922
>unscrew headset
>pick the scooter up and walk away
>>
>>1588476
not really, you can cycle 5-10 miles easily. No one walks that distance to commute. 1-3 miles is where scooters should come in as an alternative to walking.
>>
>>1583544
non issue i would never ride that thing in the first place and i would never put on that little faggot hat anyone riding these things should be required to wear the helmet at all times so others know there's a retard among them.
>>
>>1594367
i gather you're salty about the fact these will get someone to their destination in a flash, while you're stuck in a traffic jam in your shitty pickup truck
>>
This is the future transportation. It's finally here!!
http://eleburic.com/2SLm
>>
I have a first gen m365, folds up, weighs about 15kgs, a bit uncomfortable on the shoulder if you don't have a coat on, but nothing terrible
I can also let it roll beside me in the store, it's pretty skinny
Or leave it with the vigil at the entrance, they'll often offer to keep an eye on it

Not like you're gonna do more shopping than you can fit in a backpack anyways
>>
would this be too perverse?

>>
>>1612323
No, you can attach it to the scooter itself.
>>
I used to carry a small lock, mine had wheels with open spokes. People used to bully me being like "haha who would steal a $80 childrens toy" but honestly the first thing someone does when seeing a scooter is ride it so like it would be stolen in seconds I reckon. Way faster than a bike.
>>
>>1634639
same here. if i just went to the super market, i push it next to me inside, no one cares. other than that, i have a bike lock with me and i'm eyeballing one of those brake drum locks or whatever they are called.
>>
>>1634639
deffo
there's no way you can just leave one of these outside
>>
>>1583604
I've seen ones with a hole in the board to slip a lock through
>>
>>1612323

U-locks come with a clip on mount you can screw to the frame.
>>
>>1639345
Those suck. Best bet is putting out a Craigslist ad asking someone to 3D print you a custom mount. Maybe you’ll even make a friend in the process
>>
>>1639386
I don't see why you need or want a rigid holder for a u-lock
something custom made with fabric straps would be best.
>>
>>1587007
This will never not be funny

1000km on this now, only maitence is using WD bike lube on the metal parts. Only sign of trouble is worn front tire which would be fixed by thicker tyres if I had a max.
