I've always had problems with that name. It lumps Tortoise, Godspeed, and Lymbyc Systym into the same group when they're all quite disparate. It just became a catch-all term for mostly instrumental music that wasn't strictly one genre. I never use it, but I'll " " it since it's just a quick shorthand for most people rather than actually accurately describing the music. Obviously though, some bands labeled under this are all cookie-cutter versions of each other; still not convinced that's the best term for them though.
