Unironically what do you think to this album?I was spinning this CD in my portable CD player all day on my trips to Games Workshop.
>>118332874I think it is an alright album, maybe a little campy, maybe a little dated, but it is alright. Don't go into it expecting much and you won't be disappointed.
>>118332874I listened it for the first time this year (of course I wasn't completely unfamiliar with them, I knew couple of songs). Sounds same-y but solid and enjoyable
based Evanescence thread, people should listen to Lies from their album OriginFallen was great, bangers back to front but I'm probably biased because I like everything they've put out. You can call the lyrics cringe and campy or whatever but the music's sonically pleasing
>>118332874This and Meteora were basically my teenage years OST
>>118332874it owns
Songs are fine, namely Tourniquet, My Immortal, Imaginary and Haunted. Don't care much for the production, I always liked Open Door more and I moved on to bands like Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation not long after anyways. Credit where it's due though, I think Evanescence had held up better than Within Temptation at least.
I LOVE DEATH METAL
>>118332874Wow the chick from Ergo Proxy has an album? That's dope. Might have to give this a listen.
>>118334837did you go to the Evanescence/Within Temptation tour? I got turned on to WT by it and they're actually pretty good
>>118332874Is the latter sentence supposed to be an answer to your question?
I think the band is boring as shit. My girlfriend dragged me to one of their shows a few years ago and it was the biggest sonic mess I've heard. I didn't care for the nu-metal shit to begin with (and I was a depressed high school kid in 2003), but holy shit the orchestal thing they're doing is just awful.
>>118332874metal wasn't normie enough for a lot of people until this band shat out their first single and allowed npcs to enjoy the genre for the first time

sexo con amy
>>118337676limp bizkit did that. but yes, my chemical romance, linkin park and this send it to a new level of faggotry. Now looking back they arent even thaaat bad, just basic and more boring versions of better stuff.
>>118334189This, fuck people calling it campy. It's supposed to sound dramatic.
I'm just waiting for /mu/ to discover this.
>>118343151No, Lacrimosa is dramatic. This is campy.
>>118332874Is Amy Lee hot? I can't really tell.
The Open Door is better
>>118334904>>118334904yah same
Awful dad rock for people who play WarHammer
Thought it was Ergo Proxy, now I'm disappointed
>>118332874I really like it and it's probably part of why I like music with female vocals. It works with the rest of the music and it was different from other bands at the time. That said, it's also a holdover from my edgy teenage music taste that I have a soft spot for - I enjoy it more now since I grew and started liking what I like. Also, what's the consensus on their self-titled album? I enjoy it but I feel like I'm not in the majority.
it's one of the best black metal albums out there
