>>116523859+Can, Sunny Day Real Estate, Morphine, Portishead
>>116523859You have to be over 18 to post on here
>>116523859I can remember when everybody had 100+ cds racked up in their room so you can imagine how silly this looks to me.
>>1165238595/12 of them
>>116523859all of these are at least good except for morphine. i fucking hate morphine.
>>116523919oh wait, tales from the punchbowl is there, 6/12.
good taste but with old albums i just download the best master and don't get the cd if it isn't cheap
>>116523859I wonder if anyone who got into Pet Sounds felt compelled to listen to other Beach Boys albums and then more or less said, "Fuck! I like everything else they did too!"I mean, if you're new to the Beach Boys and you really like Pet Sounds, your next move should be "Today!" and "Summer Days". The two studio LPs just before Pet Sounds. Side 2 of Today is basically a Pet Sounds sneak peek. And the standalone single, "The Little Girl I Once Knew." Very Pet Soundsish.
>Primus>$3You got ripped off.
>>116524004i really love today! though i haven’t managed to pick it up on cd yet since i only really ever get them second hand here and there when i’m out, i had please let me wonder playing on repeat this morning when i was in the shower :D
>>116523859Hijacking your thread to post my thrift finds from today>>116523918I agree it's ultimately pointless and listening to music on CD isn't my primary way of acquiring music, but I still enjoy collecting/finding CDs since they are so cheap now. It's a fun hobby if you don't go the soulless way of just ordering things online
>>116523859Pretty cool man
>how it feels to be something onmy dude
>>116523859>Funko Pop CollectingLmao

>>116523859How much did the CAN one cost?
>>116523859yup. get some mars volta and fugazi in there and you're golden
>>116523859I enjoy primus, got these the other day for $18
>>116523859I spit on your CDs except for Pet Sounds

>>116526700Also why does your plastic beach have a different cover?
Pickups from the last month, some fucker scooped up Fantastic Planet ahead of me for like 10 bucks so that's a bummer, but at least I got Magnified.

>>116528369Nice, usually I get flack for listening to $b, nice to hear a different opinion for once
>>116528829its awesome. their new tape came out like an hour ago.https://soundcloud.com/g59/sets/yin-yang-tapes-winter-season
>>116523859Few good ones in here. Nice. Enjoy!
>>116523859This thread reminded me that not too long ago I tried to see if I could get a couple bucks for some CDs that I no longer had any affection for. The place took everything except for a copy Some Nights by Fun that I got in middle school. They literally wouldn't even toss me a few cents so that they could keep it with the rest of the stack; it had zero resale value in their eyes. Anyway I don't even disagree but now every time I look at the CD I just laugh and think about how it's probably the only item in my room that currently has zero monetary value in the eyes of its respective market.
>>116524324>I still enjoy collecting/finding CDs since they are so cheap nowyeah this is why i started buying vinyl in the early '00sno way i'd start now that it's so fucking expensive
>>116523859Need the violent femmes one, might consider Ege bamyasi>>116524324Need the yeah yeah yeahs >>116526700Need the plastic beach >>116527970Could use KKB>>116528276Need illmatic Anything you’d grab out of my collection /mu/? Sorry for the potato quality photo
>>116529235I feel like CDs are going to make a similar comeback that vinyl had pretty soon. Either out of nostalgia or novelty, it's going to happen eventually
good thread
I have a fuck ton of CDs, I hardly listen to them anymore tho cause using my phone is just so much easier. Here is a relatively small sample of my collection, though – I have a lot more in huge briefcase-sized CD wallets as well as several big stacks in my closet.
>>116529890if you think that then you don't understand why vinyl has come back
>>116530046You wanna sell some to me? I’ll take the miles Davis, death, OM, bathory, max roach and nirvana albums
>>116529235>no way i'd start now that it's so fucking expensivehundreds of millions of vinyls were released over many decades. only the new shit or extremely uncommon records are "expensive".>>116529890CDs never went away. millions of the fuckers are pressed every year.
>>116530046unless they're lossless flac versions on your phone? if not then you might just be retarded.
>>116528968not gunna lie, wasn't really digging this wannabe freddie dredd sound.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chLDLK0Wjs8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QJd-Q6FMJ0
>>116530387>unless they're lossless flac versions on your phone? if not then you might just be retarded.Literally yes.
Most recent purchases, but just the tip of the icebergBuy used on Discogs for dirt cheap Rip them to ALAC format and put them on my iPod classic from 2005 that still holds a charge like a bossI mostly just use YouTube and slsk for sampling , but any album that I really like I will buy on CD and rip myself.
>>116530387is it actually that much better than streaming? genuinely curious
My collectionI actually also own 1 more CD that is not included in the picture, Children of God
>>116534056Mp3s and FLACs on my phone are massively better than both physical media AND streaming. Physical is only good for posterity.
>>116535607terrible surface level collection
>>116535607you might as well get Pablo Honey and AMSP to complete the collection
bump
>>116527811Sweet.
i'm one of those with 100+ CDs and counting, some choice favorites>>116523859what >>116523882 said. pretty much something for every mood loosely enough>>116526700nice Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, props if you found that in person. the only place i've seen it is discogs>>116532643nice Residents and TG anon>>116535607some good stuff but very "safe" collection pic, branch out more
>>116529453Cool Faust album anon, I like that new artworkOld photo of my collection. This is an embarrassing amount of prog, my taste is a lot broader now, but there's some stuff here I still think is cool.
>>116542502
>>116542556love Yanqui, but god way too many digipakspeople have forgotten overtime that digipaks are shit
>>116523859>ege bamyasi>remain in light>goodgood>>116542027>depeche mode>massive attack>chemlabur cool
>>116542642yeah I despise digipaks, its a shame that they are sometimes the only option for some albums I want to get, especially new releases. Jewel cases are just so much better in all ways. With second hand CD hunting I just take what I can find :)
