Probably just going to drop the name and go by his own name for stage name, there wasn't anymore band anyway and Panic was just a solo project and has been for about 10 years after the last guy left outside of Brendan himself left. But if he really does hang it up, I wonder what the reason is besides the kid. Because a lot of musicians have kids, they either go on hiatus or keep it going but touring slows down or to no touring at all.I can't imagine Panic being that popular anymore. The change in sound to straight pop kept it going in the 10s, but even that sound lost popularity and a lot of those bands aren't doing that well anymore. I'm surprised when I look up any of those pop-punk/emo/pop rock bands of the 00s (besides Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and MCR) and see that a lot of them are still putting out music and they all look like normies now and you never hear about them. I was surprised that The Used was still around. And last time I heard the Gym Class Heroes lead singer got HIV.
>>114686275>And last time I heard the Gym Class Heroes lead singer got HIVlol wut
shit they were still around i thought a lot of those bands called it quits in the early 2010s when it was clear all the scene kids grew up and moved on to indie or something
>>114686292I don't remember it was probably a rumor I was looking them up awhile back and I stumble on some forum that was just for black women and they had a whole thread about him supposedly having HIV
>>114685848not a big loss for music
say what you will about the band and Brendon (easily an expendable element of the band from the beginning, was carried by Ryan), but you have to admit>behind the sea>time to dance>hurricane>she had the world >camisado>northern downpour>build god then we'll talk>let's kill tonight>lying is the most fun>trade mistakesare ALL unironically great songs. yes everything after their 3rd album is dogshit though and overall the name being retired is a good thing imo. still can't help but feel sentimental, they were the first group i ever got super into
>>114685848They had like one song lmao, it's a banger but still who even pays attention to them anymore
>>114685848Literally have never nor wanted to her a song of triers.
>>114685848Extremely sad day for the 2-3 30 something girls (and gay dudes) who may remember them once every 5 years for a fraction of a second
What other bands ended because of a child? Lol
>>114686515not fleetwood mac
only 3 albums worth listening to
>>114686275Fall Out Boy dropped the pop shit for their newest release though, and with my chem going back to a darker sound, brendon clearly doesnt have the panache to adapt
Good. Now, hopfully Ryan can make a comeback as The Young Veins

>>114686690i actually didn't hate viva las vengeance. it was cool that they recorded it all live in the room to a tape machine. i'd give it a C or a D. but yeah, all the rest of the rankings are objectively correct. Pretty Odd was their creative peak. It was like a Beatles album on speed.
>>114685848Our long national nightmare is over
>>114686403northern downpour is a pretty solid song, covered it with my band once
>>114686403>everything after their 3rd album is dogshitToo Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die wasn't absolutely terrible. Nicotine makes it into my playlist when I'm in the mood. Should have switched to just a solo name sooner, wonder why he hung onto the band name.>they were the first group i ever got super intoSame. I think their first album was one of the first I bought with my own money as a teen.
>>114686719I've not his other band, how were they?
>works for a decade to achieve his dream of being a B list popular>achieves it>peaces outI don't buy this for a second not after all the work he put in. Are some major criminal allegations coming out soon?
I’m with some of the others >old good new badAtleast they knew to call it quits, I see Metallica just dropped a new single (though desu I hope they keep going so I can atleast see them live, I just have no interest in the new music anymore)
>>114687357Pretty nice 60s pastiche music
how does a solo project split up?
>>114685848Just remembered PatD has been a solo project for like a decade. Glad this talentless dope's hanging it up

Pretty. Odd. is a fun baroque pop album. Everything else is fucking shit.
I never really saw the appeal of them, but I have to assume they objectively went to shit past the fourth album like how Fall Out Boy went to shit after Save Rock and Roll
he went out with a post of text.i.e. a whimpersome of their hits are forever GOAT....And, this deserves a sticky.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhG-vLZrb-g

>>114696068I don't even remember them being really big, that high high hopes song is just annoying and got really overplayed and I can't remember any other songs besides that and the closing the goddamn door one.
>>114696094there was a whole subset of kids who made their whole identity liking shitty pop punk in my schools... those kids did
>>114696141I don't think that's the popular experience, but I suppose it still makes up a significant part of the American 00's experience, because I've heard "Brendan Urie" enough times over the years to learn that there was more relevancy to PATD than I had before realized.I was in middle school. Anyway, if you feel old, maybe its because what you identify your youth with was contingent upon certain characteristics that would now seem out-of-place or immature if you expressed or identified with them now. Movies and music are more likely to have those social contingencies. But I bet if you liked skate-boarding, going to the park, sports, or cooking at that age, you can still bring more grace to make the aging experience more comfortable and stable. Like, if you had any favorite foods. You can revisit them and re-interpret them with new ingredients or sumin .. to bring your youth into your future in a new and matured way that reflects your character development. If there's a movie, you can develop your perspective on the plot and such. As for music, you can learn the songs and cover and record yourself an album to reflect an homage to yourself and your 00's era. something to give it more definition, and your present self more clearance.

>>114686275I went to the MCR show in Denver and it was the weirdest fucking concert I have ever been too , there were literal 16 year olds to what looked like 50 year olds and basically all of them were dressed up. I did get a free joint though, so me and the 2 chicks I went with had fun and the concert kicked ass. Currently plan to go to the cologne show since did not get a chance to see them last year and I must satisfy my inner theatre kid.
>>114685848the fuck? I thought he already had kids, isn't he in his 30s or something?
Pretty. Odd is still one of the best albums of the 2000’s. And A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out is some peak pop-punk/emo-pop. If you were in school during those albums, they were inescapable and everyone listened to them.
>>114697199>If you were in school during those albums, they were inescapable and everyone listened to them.Naw, everyone at my school listened to Green Day, the Killers and The Offspring. I bet your school was just really gay
>>114697224mine was extremely gay, and by that I mean we were picketed by the Westboro baptist church.
>>114697281>and by that I mean we were picketed by the Westboro baptist church. That's a low bar to set because I'm pretty sure the color pink set those retards off

>>114697224People listened to those bands too, but all the singles from AFYCSO were on the rage. I was also a massive Fall Out Boy fan lol. I wonder how I got from that shit to listening to fucking Torturing Nurse.
