Took my DRRI to a tech after replacing the preamp tubes. Was getting some heavy volume drop and associated fizziness every once in a while in both channels. They said they couldnt find anything wrong with it after playing guitar into it then running a signal generator through it for an hour. Have run my same cables and pedalboard through my SS amp with no issues.

Only thing i can think of is maybe its my compressor? Seemed like it mostly just popped up when i was using high gain pedals like heavy fuzz. I run the compressor at the front of my signal chain and ive read when used with gain compressors can further squish your signal and lead to funkiness. Thoughts?

Poorfag here, I want to get back into playing guitar but I live in a shitty flat with paper walls and would have to use headphones anyway. Should I even bother with looking at amplifiers or is there some cheaper/better way in 2021 like some kind of guitar to PC audio interface or multieffectthingy? I own a guitar but nothing else.

They make really cheap guitar interfaces that you can plug directly into a laptop and use virtual amps and pedals in shit like Logic.
>>
>>103346917
Sounds cool but add it some more depth, through a small guitar rift or something
>>
>>103346917
nice voicings
a fender rhodes doing some background stuff would sound really cool in there
plus maybe some light, brushed, percussion
>>
>>103346784
Try turning the compressor off and turn the volume down on your gain pedals. You might be boosting too much somewhere and hitting one of your pedals too hard. Could be overloading the input on the amp too. It's pretty easy to do, especially when stacking fuzz pedals.
>>
I tried replacing pickups myself but kinda fucked up and made a mess. If I got solder all over one of the lugs is that irredeemable?
>>
https://youtu.be/C2cLTmbR1So

How the heck do you get this guitar tone? Is it just upping the treble and delay?
>>
>>103347118
how bad is it?
>>
>>103346855
Find a good multi effect unit that has some good amp sim capabilities. Then just plug a good pair of headset in. Boss also made a guitar headphone amp in one, not sure how good it is. I'd just advise taking those rather than DI>DAW cause of lots of fiddling and latency issues.
>>
>>103347118
They make solder suckers. You just heat it to flow again and suck it up with like a commercial grade babby booger sucker.
>>
>>103347320
I wear headphones and I often wonder if my neighbors can hear the strings. I can hear my downstairs neighbor cough and maybe if he's talking at a decent volume. I normally wouldn't care about noise, but I'm just a beginner and I'm so shit that it would be embarrassing if someone heard me.
>>
Should I focus on creating original stuff
>>
>>103346855
Play an acoustic?
>>
>>103347410
Trust me, you can't hear the strings from another room. They're so indistinguishably quiet that you wouldn't know what someone was doing. If it bugs you, put the radio on at a low volume and that'll cover the sound, then wear headphones to practice.
>>
>>103347207
Chorus with some light tremolo and delay
Single coil pickups into fender voiced amp
The outro has even more modulations, maybe different settings on the chorus or he added a vibrato pedal with detune settings.

Thats clearly vibrato through and through.

Make sure your pedals have enough draw, this happened with my POG until I isolated its power and the volume drop disappeared.
>>
>>103346784
Digital pedals usually have shit for headroom and are also buffered because they're reverbs. I've had them clip and do weird things with too much gain as well as some fuzzes going straight in the front causing drops on a solid state. The clean channel of all things, but I think it's because the gain knob is placebo on that one.

>>103347773
im using a voodoo labs pedal power z plus so everything should be isolated. one one pedal (compressor) is on a OneSpot, nothing daisy chained. and again, as far as i can tell this issue doesnt happen on my solid state amp, only on my DRRI. ill probably just pick it up tomorrow and try to fuck around with the compressor pedal a bit off and on. wish i could pin point exactly when the amp started acting funky and if it was after i tried something new but i totally forgot.

If it's just a one time thing you can grab a scrap piece of stranded wire and pull apart the strands a little bit. Reflow the solder and touch the wire to it and it should suck up a lot of solder.

Pic related is my 2013 American Deluxe V-neck which transitions from soft V to modern C around the 8th or 9th fret or so. The freboard is also a compound radius going from 9.5" at the nut to 14" at the heel.

Katy t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m (Katy the Penguin of Doom) is a copypasta story told from the perspective of a 13-year-old girl who claims to visit 4chan’s /b/ (random) board because she is “very random.” Written in a jumble of l33tspeak and SMS shorthands, the story is meant to mock the attention-seeking style of humor that is often characterized as “so random” by adolescent Internet users.

Early to mid 2ks were the end of the hype. There were a few bands really bringing everything together possibly better than before but there was much larger of a decline in general quality. Hardcore bands were making Hatebreed look like virtuosos. Screaming shit was peaking at its most annoying Blood Brothers can't even touch levels. That kind of volatility normally signals the end of something. You could get any tabs of any quality. Harmony Central had a database of gear reviews.

ibanez do decent guitars for metal at all price points and are now even shipping guitars stock with bkps and fishmans. then there's ltd or e-ii if you can stretch your budget, schecter, etc. depends on spec, too, but all of the brands i listed above do 7 strings. there's no set guitar that "best" plays modern metal and frankly metal style is a technique that you can even play on a telecaster but if you lean more towards the direction i outlined above i think you'll find something you can latch on to. my only 7 string is a korean made prs svn and it does well, thinking of changing the pickups in it for something a little hotter and more compressed but otherwise no complaints.

check out ltd's "arctic metal" series, if i had money right now i'd be buying like 4 of those. there's an s style, a les paul/eclipse style, a v, a firebird and a 7 string s style. be warned though, only one pickup (bridge). all of them come with an emg81tw which afaik is just the emg81 with split capabilities for """single coil""" sounds.

They sound really nice and fit for a lot of styles but don't have a unique voice other than >>103356636. They're also still prone to howling in higher volume situations as unpotted microphonic pickups are intrinsic to the sound. The Nuge is the only one I can think of that can control one for hard rock bordering on metal. They're a complement to the telecaster in terms of sheer versatility and not looking out of place in a band setting.

Basically, complex gear, effects and such is like sex toys. You have everything you need to have sex, you don't need mechanical implements in addition unless you're physically disabled. Pedals just limit your sound. Vibrato and picking techniques and understanding how the instrument works can give you whatever effect you need. You have strings that generate tones, that is the most control you can possibly have. And just like people who use sex toys during sex, everybody knows guitarists who rely on pedals are pathetic and probably have some mental block that prevents them from making music normally.

Your mother jerks off pigs. She gets down on her knees and crawls through the pigpiss mud slop and snuggles up to the pig, her fingers tracing along it's belly until she finds it's cock. She begins tugging and stroking as her twat moistens, her breasts swelling and her nipples begin to stick out like erasers on a fresh #2 pencil. She grunts with satisfaction as the pig begins eagerly thrusting into her hand, her grip now tightening to maintain control of the pig's greasy corkscrew cock. She lowers her head to watch the cock work in her hand, groans with satisfaction and begins working her clit with her other muddy hand, her hips gyrating with the rhythm of the pig's thrusting.
"Oh fucking jesus god yes."she gasps. She changes positions, still maintaining control of the feverishly thrusting cock as the pig's squealing intensifies. She leans forward and with her lips almost touching the pig's ear, she whispers your name and begins to shudder. She turns her attention again to the pigs swollen member rocking in her hand. She presses it between her hand and her face, the pig thrusting it against her cheeks as she drools. With a massive grunt and a high pitched squeal, the pig's balls explode, beginning a massive shower of hot, sour pig jizz. You mother cups one hand under the fountain of steaming genetic material gathering it in her hand as the thrusting comes to an end. She lifts it's tail and smears the handful of pig load into the pig's own fetid butthole, turning flakes of crusty pig shit into a pigshit-pigjizz mud slop on the pigs ass. Now she tilts her head to the sky and screams your name, not once, not twice, but three times. She slams her face full force into the pig's butthole and it's wreath of shitsemen pudding, her tongue machine gun flicking the rim and then burying itself to the hilt inside the pig's hot colon. Your mother works her tongue around the inside of the pigs ass, while spurts of female ejaculate spurt from her pulsating cunt.

They do massive bulk orders of lumber and grade it themselves considering the size of the operation. For example, this means a given model year will have a huge surplus of A grade rosewood of some sort from all the AAA and AA they intended to get or some federal preserve of swamp ash was on the docket to be cut and they bought most of it. At this level of bulk and some other factors, it can end up being cheaper than whatever they usually use. This and neck profiles are how you make some cash on the speculator market.

Notice how this year the color of choice across brands is seafoam green, I'm guessing dupont made their yearly batch. You have to wait for the stars to align to get the neck, woods and color you want.

I mean, it's a practical pedal. There's no snake oil or special voodoo going on.
One side is a Green Russian Big Muff with an extra knob, which lets you change what part of the EQ curve the tone knob is affecting. Solves the #1 problem with big muffs, the useless tone control.
The other side is a pretty standard Tone Bender. It cleans up really well, pretty honky and spitty when you push it. It has a lot more bite but is completely lacking in the smoothness of the big muff, so I like to stack them for high gain. Alone, it has a lot going for it for clean sounds that get dirty when you dig in.
The middle button is an analog ring modulator. I don't know why this is on here, its a super niche sound compared to the fairly standard fuzz, but it's fun. Glitchy.
I think the tone bender side makes it worth getting this over the standalone hoof, I use them both a lot.
