i'm poor as shit and i don't bother anymore
God Tier HD650
>>102807570used to have these before the pads got worn out, I replaced them later out but pic related are my current (Moondrop Starfield)

I've been listening with Sennheiser HD 220 Pros and they've really grown on me. I used to mainly use Sony MDR 7506s.Sometimes I use shitty earbuds as well.
Some homebrew shit. Shoved some KSC75's in 3M around head ear muffs. Very acceptable audio quality with extreme ruggedness.
>>102810541Philips fidelio X2HR w/ FiiO k5 pro DAC/AMP. I like it a lot.
>>102810646Sounds like a nice setup, but the DAC is too expensive for my budget. Is the K1 any good?
>>102810759I have no idea.
>>102810646>>102810759DACs and amps are snake oilYou only need an amp if your headphones don't get loud enoughExternal DACs make no difference, it's placebo

Sony WH1000XM4I put them shits on and I don't hear a fucking thing in the outside world
hd650, >>102809843and these >>102810892>you only need an amp if your headphones don't get loud enoughsimply not true, you can drive hd6xxs to a good volume with your laptop headphone jack but it doesn't provide enough current to get the most detail out of anything but the midrange

dt990 with cheap jvc amp
>>102810892It may be to you if you're using trash, but there was a clear difference between my stock audio, stock audio with Fii0 E10, and my stock audio on my new laptop with the X2HR's and the K5 Pro DAC/Amp. >headphones don't get loud enoughThat's what the amps for, you hear more at lower volumes so you don't have to blast it into your ears.
Steelseries Arctis 3 but I'm thinking about buying something more... music focused? Like DT 770
>>102812397>treble rape >music oriented laff
Currently rocking m40xs but thinking about copping a portapro and a dt770.
>>102812436Damn okay, so what would you recommend? 150 EUR budget, I have a Soundblaster G6 as dacampwhatever
Sony MDR-V6I dunno, they are very 'bright'. I know they are very faithful and that's the point of monitor headphones, but I'd prefer more bass. Poorfag so I'm gunna use them till they break.
>>102812705>Sony MDR-V6>use them till they break.heh, good one anon
broke my pair of TMA-2's half a year ago and have been too broke to get new ones. finally ordered a new pair today, after having used some Urbanears Plattan which sound like piss.>>102812628do you listen to everything on these? I've been curious to get a pair of Grado (or some other open headphone) but won't bass-heavy music sound like shit, or rather don't sound at all?
>>102812598try /g/, they helped me pick mine
Etyomtic MC5 (decent sound /w eq and crossfeed)ATH a900x w/ sheepskin pads (max comfy sound and fit)Sony 1000xm4 (meh comfort, good sound wired, great noise cancellation) They are still new so I'm not settled yet though
Been repairing my Denon AH-D2000s since 2010, I love them so much I don't know how I'll ever give them up
>>102807503i want 990s
>>102812755>do you listen to everything on these? I've been curious to get a pair of Grado (or some other open headphone) but won't bass-heavy music sound like shit, or rather don't sound at all?I've tried it on most genres, especially bass heavy ones. I'm not a basshead myself so I can't really specify much but it's there, sub-bass is faint but the bass is serviceable. They do a good the job on tracks like hole in one and girly face from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5-AsZOwZmc they're tight and very present. If it's any consolation, if the mixing great and your source is good enough, they're absolutely great for rock, music, classical, jazz and live music from those genres. electronic music maybe not so much but they still sound good. the treble rape is real but you get accustomed to it with time also my ears are medium-sized I guess but I can wear them for hours
>>102813129Fuck i have a pair of broken old denon ah-g300 that were amazing, and was my main mixing headphones.I knew if it sounded good on them, it would sound good anywhere.I use these now.
>>102807503dt 770 pro 80 ohm with a fiio e10K dac. basic bitch shit but it werks
>>102813352alright, thanks! seeing as how I listen to a lot of jazz, I might invest in a pair sometime further down the road. but considering electronic music is something I listen to a lot, too, I guess they could never be my only pair. thanks for your input!
>>102807503Sennheiser HD 280 and the 250 ohm DT990 with an SSL 2. Also are the Austrian Audio products any good?
>>102807503the one's in your pic
Got these recently after my cheap Sony headphones broke. Are they considered bad, or is that just a meme since they get recommended so often? Either way they're much better than what I was using before, so I'm fine with it.
>>102807503absolutely based. these things have served me well over the past year. fantastic for the price too
>>102807667Based and redpilled
>>102812705If you can't train your ear to hear music only as the V6s play them then you aren't really autistic
I use STAX L300 LEs sometimes and my HE1000s. They both offer a unique sound, but I definitely use the HE1000s more because they are better for actually jamming out.>>102810892These 100% do make a difference if you're buying above to $50 range lol. Recently upgraded my energizer for my STAX and I can make out a dsicernable positive difference. The bass is a lot better with the new one.
>>102807503>>102814933>>102807570>>102814944Do yourself a favor and upgrade the pads on your audiotechnica headphones, it makes such a difference with comfort and soundstage. ZMF lambskin earpads are amazing and what I use, but they are thick ass pads so people may think you have problems if you wear them in public.
I got a pair of AKG K553s and they sound great but they are shit for mixing. Not enough high end. My mixes will sound trebly and shrill through anything else. What are some good headphones with decent high end. The cheaper the better. I already spent 200 on these and it’s past the return date

>>102807503Opinion on Bluetooth headphones? I'm thinking of getting a pair for listening to music and doing stuff around the room, working out indoors etc.
>>102816210All bluetooth codecs degrade the sound, but some are better. Compatbility is a crapshoot so you'll probably be stuck with SBC or AAC.
>>102807503>Yeah, I enjoy my AirPods Pro, especially their seamless connection with my other Apple devices and their noise cancellation, how could you tell

>>102807503I use the ATH-M50x but I'm not really a fan of them. I use the default pads and the clamp force is a bit uncomfortable. Most importantly, I can't fucking use them without EQ-ing the shit out of them, cause the highs in these headphones are unbearabl and ear-wrecking.
>>102807503Samsung AKG NC700C - competes with XMR4 and Dre Beats, but costs 100$ less. It's got everything you need, may not be that great aesthetic wise but gets the job done for me.
>>102807503m40x. not an audio expert but it sounds good to me.>>102807570I don't remember why ppl hate these>>102815144will keep in mind anon. my m30x earpads got fucked up over time and by the end of those headphone's lifespan the pads were very abrasive.
>>102811138Lol I can attest to the indestructible part. One time I was wearing them on the swings and they went flying 50 ft in the air and landed on the ground. They still work fine and the only damage is a small dent in one side
>>102807503KRK KNS-8400They're affordable (below 200€) and flat enough that I can hear everything clear without bias. They're an American brand so kudos to them. >>102807570i have these but the bluetooth variety and exlusively use them wireless, completely triggering audiophiles.
sennheiser momentum wireless cansthey were a gift and the wireless scared me a bit ngl but you can wire them in and they sound great(also the bluetooth connection IS very convenient at times)
>>102819805also i used to use gradolabs and i would swear by them but after my second pair broke in the same way im neveragain.jpg so whatever thats worth to anyone...yeah
>>102807503Sennheiser hd 206. I've been using the same pair for like 10 ten years, and a week ago, I ordered a new pair instead of buying fresh pads.I still haven't figured out what pair I'd actually like to buy. Something with accurate sound like these, but with less leakage, but there's nothing really in that price range. I should have bought a pair before the pandemic, because there's no way I'll be able to decide now with all the price hikes.
Koss kph 30i
HD 58X or DT 990??, which is best?.
>>102814933They're not bad at all, they're great, it's just the usual 4chan thing where anything popular gets ragged on for no reason. You can't even mention them on the /g/ HPG threads because all the faggy Senn and Beyer chuds will shout you down and show you 50 graphs proving...nothing. 50X's have a rich, thick sound but still have a nice clean top end, and they take well to EQ'ing. I love mine and I've tried a lot of the other big players.
>>102816210Never going to sound as good as a quality wired set and you're stuck with the internal DAC/amp, but they're useful for some situations. I have a pair of mid-range on ear BT JBL's that I use for travel and they're fine for that purpose.
>>102818412The fuck? You have a bum set of M50X's, friendo. They are known for being very mellow and easy to listen to, either you have your highs EQ'd to the moon or you have a shit audio source.

are headphones that much better than gaming headsets?, if i go from the cloud IIs to a hd 6xx am i gonna notice that much difference in music?
>>102822735most likely not. there honestly isn't too much of a noticeable difference in sound if you're not willing to drop mad cash on a super nice audio setup
>>102807503I use these. Also use a preamp to drive more power and I use a custom EQ on Peace from a graph specifically for these headphones. Best pair of cans I've ever owned thus far, great for getting the most out of my classical music and FLACs.
