Why is k pop popular and cool but j pop is seen as disgusting weeb trash it's totally bs and I'm sick and tired of it
>>101823134Both suck.
>>101823134j pop hasn't progressed since the 2000s k pop hops on every western trent but just with twinks. both suck if you ask me
>>101823329You're literally braindead, J-pop is sounding pretty different now than in the 00's. Go listen to Yoasobi or Yonezu Kenshi.
>>101823134>Why is k pop popular and coolIt isn't.>j pop is seen as disgusting weeb trashBecause obnoxious weebs ruined it.
>>101823329A lot of music genres haven't evolved but still get respect
>>101823399Are you seriously saying k pop isn't popular
Jpop is too different from western pop and also tainted by weebs. That being said, Kpop isn't exactly held in the highest regards either
>>101823134how are j pop and k pop even considered genreswhat's wrong with them is they're a cult of personality and people are so unfamiliar with what the fuck the music is that they reduce these things to the country it's from
>>101823498Jpop has kind of a distinct style tbf
>>101823134Well jrock is another story
>>101823498J pop is super unique and different from the usual pop that plays in north American so its considered a different genre
>>101823564J rock and j metal are so underrated
>>101823134This a Miku thread now. Post more Miku.
>>101823756I'm ok with that
>>101823756>>101823816>I curse everyone on this thread with a good day and happy thoughts!
>>101823134K-pop is based on fanboys and fangirls worshipping without shame their idols.J-pop is strongly influenced by Denpa, the main goal of the genre is to be weird, repetitive, and for otakus. Thus both are viewed as niche genres that only attract specific people.
>>101823940Oh crap that spell is way to powerful
>>101823971K pop fans only like it because there singer are hot
>>101823399Both community's are obnoxious
>>101823498J-pop was used in Japan originally to denote a popular style invented in the '90s by producers like Tetsuya Komuro. Before then the generic term for popular music in Japan was kayoukyoku. The term stuck probably because it's so memorable, and it's not very useful in distinguishing between Shiina Ringo and AKB48, but it isn't the creation of outsiders. We usually associate K-pop with a much more unified musical style than J-pop because it tends to refer specifically to the popular idols and the large agencies that represent them.>>101823971>J-pop is strongly influenced by DenpaDenpa didn't exist when the term 'J-pop' came into existence, and much of J-pop is in no way influenced by it.
>>101823199debatable
>>101825745No.
>>101823134kpop is not cool lmaolegions of twittards liking something doesn't mean it's universally loved
Kpop is frowned upon by almost all, excluding its rabid fanbase. Jpop makes people think of kingdom hearts, which makes it better by default.
>>101824178>kpop singers>hot>flat sticks and twinks>hot>fake everything covered on layers and layers of make up>hot>copy-pasted personality on a bland face with samey "fashion" style>fucking hot
korean culture is japanese culture sans soulit's too americanized, so it's excruciatingly bland and dull, but since it's produced by asians, it's extremely proficient and high-polish
I have no problem with j-pop or k-pop as long as it's shibuya-kei
>>101826374not universally, but its definitely more popular than jpop ever was in the west.
>>101823756
>>101828356k-pop basically slavishly looks out for what might be popular and then pursues it and manufactures it (even down to sculpting faces probably) like they do machinery, microchips and cars.j-pop (the part of it that's idol based, rather than just their traditional artists) although basically still pandering, is more like a school machine where they 'graduate' at the end, either into other media jobs or leaving it, and they still seem more 'human' (less surgery, more personality between members). The traditional j-'pop' acts that aren't idol are generally just traditional music acts, and also tend to bring things back from old genres more, so you will hear some influences and parts that sound 50s/60s/70s/80s/90s in some songs that are made recently in those. Though those aren't really 'j-pop' I guess, and just music.
>>101823134Someone post some j-pop
