Am I the only one that hates they turned Vinyl Scratch style into "Wubz-Wubz"?, that kind of music sucks
>>40328551That was always Vinyl Scratch.
>>40328551I never liked this character.
>>40328559She's not playing dubstep music in her debut scene, though, that was fanon turned canon
>>40328551Lame horse. Her girlfriend's cute tho
I like the idea of her living with another musician less.
>>40328551Skrillex tier dubstep is pretty outdated. I like to think she's into and produces a variety of electronic dance music
>>40328559She's a literal record-spinning 70s-90s style DJ. Does that sound like dubstep to you? Not all EDM is the same, philistine.
>>40328880>Skrillex tier dubstep is pretty outdated. My fav genre for a whole decade
>>40328983This, her scenes in episode 100 were awful and felt out of place, too modern and fanon
It took long enough for people to realize that all dubstep sounded like shit and it stained EDM as a whole. Too late is better than never, I suppose
>>40330352Wasn't that what episode 100 was all about?
Because of dubstep I never really got into MLP fandom music, that shit poisoned fucking everything. Finding at least one decent song/musician meant going through tons of garbage so I mostly just gave up. At least I still discover new good stuff sometimes.
>>40330369I'm tired of EDM in general, people forgot how to use instruments even if it's just a DAW and now we have no one that can make pony music that sounds like it came from YMO or somesuch, just loud dance shit now with someone using AI to make haha coom lyrics
>>40328551>that kind of music sucksHEYfuck you, pal
>>40330388The only EDM I'll never get tired of is late 00's - early 10's Romanian progressive house, that stuff is so perfectly minimalistic and melodious. Shame they don't make it like that anymore.
>>40328551That kind of music was pervasive as shit 10 years ago.It just fell out of style quickly, it was always crap anyway.
>>40330369They said the same thing about techno, and dubstep always had its detractors back then. Had dubstep been as mainstream as breakcore (not at all) nobody would give it half as much thought.
>>40330439Elements of techno survived and diversified into other forms of music that still exist today, the genre more or less just became obsolete because technology moved past it to the point where it started to sound dated as shit.Dubstep was just slowed down drum and bass/EDM and sounded like shit, it went into the trash where it belonged as soon as the novelty and grift dollars dried up.>it stained EDM as a wholePendulum is making music again, so I guess that's something.
>>40330448Drum & Bass is simply sped up hip-hop, which itself can be called lazily sampled jazz/rock, so who cares how it came about? The heavier elements of dubstep still exist in modern edm the same way techno does.>the genre more or less just became obsolete because technology moved past it to the point where it started to sound dated as shit.Yet lo-fi hip hop and 90s dnb are circling back around. Only the music industry is obsessed with being refined to the point of sounding soulless.>PendulumOnly good for pony porn and a handful of favorites, otherwise it's literally the same shit over and over.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g61brCepGVE
It’s not the only thing she does, she’s dj’ed for literally every event in equestria I’m pretty sure
>>40330522>only good for pony pornWhat a fantastic claim to fame though.
>>40330522All music is just banging sticks and rocks like the cavemen did with extra steps.Look i really don't want to have this argument.Everything is coming back around because contemporary pop is basically just dead at this point.>Only good for pony porn and a handful of favoritesI wont disagree with you but the point was that they are one of the most accessible names in the genre.
>>40330526I actually first heard them on need for speed hot pursuit. They aren't all that esoteric as you'd think.
>>40330522The album Hold Your Color is pure beauty and perfection and the peak of electronic music.
Getting flash-backs to 10 years ago.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdtH565RSgc
>>40328551i like to think that she plays 90s - 2000 trance and technohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8hDX8Lcz9Qhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w15oWDh02K4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvDJbvAfkmUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRBFun4Vv8M
>>40330352I agree. People try to say shit like "all technology exists in Equestria, it's a mishmash of all eras". But the truth is that, in the first 2 seasons, their technology never went past the 1970s, with Vinyl Scratch's equipment or Button playing an arcade machine. They shouldn't have phones, they shouldn't have laptops, they shouldn't have dubstep.
