Anything I can equip from clothing to weapons etc goes in clothing. And lastly expression appliers go in gestures. That's pretty much my system and it works pretty well. I don't have any leftover folders in my inventory or junk in my objects folder.

experimenting with parenting bones to an object outside the rig (in this case, the wireframe cube). it can create a nice effect, like the head quickly going side-to-side while also slowly going up and down. however, I don't know if it would go through when exporting the animation, since the cube's keyframes aren't part of the action that the popen is doing. I'd try adding a bone to the rig itself, but my Blender crashes everytime I try to exit Edit Mode on the armature.
