Okay, here are the basic points that this pre training thing could give:

When I came up with the elite society plot, I had in mind that they wanted Octavia gone from the public eye.

I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about this. It's something I'm going to have to handle carefully because foalcon might be a deal breaker for some. None of the following is set in stone yet since I want feedback on how far I should take this, but if I were to proceed it would be something like this.

Flurry would obviously be better off with a husband who took charge, gave her purpose, and provided companionship.
The problem is that there are no colts out there good enough for Flurry, and there never will be. A mare wants, nay, NEEDS a good partner to be satisfied. "Good" is a relative term, which is instinctively measured against contrasting elements, including the self. Stallions should be built up as much as possible to make them the best mates possible. Mares, including Flurry, should be degraded and broken down as much as possible to make stallions seem superequine by comparison. Remember that what Cadence wants and what Cadence gets are going to be different. She understands he disapproves of her wishes, and is trying to find ways to reconcile her beliefs with his values.

I think I overlooked how much shame Octavia would actually feel from letting other ponies see her as a slave. I mean she did have a big image in the upper elite and with the "masses" as well, and might still want to save face while trying to hide this new status of hers.

In the case where she is with Fleur, it would be something mostly focused with the elite, which while humiliating, it would be something mostly localized on that upper circle, and Octavia wouldnt have a choice to begin with since Fleur is forcing her.

But when shes with Vinyl, she would have the "choice" of staying holed up in the house during the weekend to avoid having to meet the everyday ponies she knows and make her status apparent.
Or she could go out with Vinyl, in case she ever wants to fix this relationship, which Vinyl would remind her constantly.

I thought about it, and her interactions with Vinyl could go in two different directions.

Either she learns to deal with the shame and goes out, risking showing her new status to people she knows but keep her relationship with Vinyl.
