That goes for any game. Give them breathing room to do something that would give them the dopamine rush in the casual monkey brains and you increase their chances of coming back and maybe even sticking with the game. So no matter what modes you add or gimmicks you implement, if it's a one and done thing, the casuals will not stick with the game for long regardless.

>>38767559Not the anon who you replied to, I think he's a bit mistaken. Training mode is a tool, and if you go into it without a clear idea of what you're doing you'll mostly be wasting time. You'll learn a lot faster just playing matches, and if something the opponent is doing stumps you then you can either ask them about it or try and lab out a solution in training mode.As for combos, it's a bad idea to try and learn one big combo without knowing your character's basic combo structure. All combos are made up of smaller building blocks, move A connecting to move B and B to C etc. If you learn a simpler combo or two that are easy to use in most scenarios (as opposed to requiring specific situations to work) and try using those, you'll be passively improving at the harder combos that you aren't currently trying to do.If you're new I recommend, for now, not going past Pom's intermediate combos. Intermediate 2 and 3 are both really great starter BnBs, though I think they could be made easier without losing their effectiveness. Here's a combo for you to try:https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/990434471524311084/990434574305726565/tfhg_easy_pombo.tfhc2B is Pom's most common starter (due to her jabs being pretty horrible and due to it low-profiling a lot of attacks) and this combo does decent damage, involves summoning a dog mid-combo via groundbounce (one of Pom's most important techniques), has a hard knockdown (important for Pom's wakeup setups), uses sheepherding to get Pom right where you want her to be, and at the end I threw in a mix that you can use, jumping the opponent and using bitey's 3D so they have to both block low after you jump AND change their blocking direction so they don't get crossed up. You don't have to do the entire thing, but knowing how to summon a dog with an easy launcher -> ABC and then use 2B to keep the combo going is one of the best things you can learn as Pom

A tricky detail about the groundbounce thing is that you want to delay the j.A after the launcher (so the opponent gets launched higher before you hit them) and also delay the j.C a little bit (so you fall lower before you hit them, since groundbounce has a fixed length and you recover the moment you hit the ground so that gives you more time to get the summon out). It's a muscle memory thing but I think you can get it quick with practiceAnd remember, if you can't get that groundbounce, like if you used it as the first hit in your combo, you can always summon at the end of your combo after 2C, or use bark and cancel that into summon (see webm, it's harder than the other two methods just because you need to do it before your Juggle Decay meter gets full)
