>Melly: "I'm not sure, Willow hasn't really told me much about this cult that dragged you to Blackhoof."
>>38065479
>Melly: "I don't know the in and outs, it's worth asking a spiritualist about those things...It is said Sequi was very kind and patient, a full possession would be out of character for her. Then again, it's ancient history and theories. We could be wrong about her."
>>
>>38065612
In short from what we heard they want to use chaos magic to avoid death indefinitely and overthrow the princesses.
>>
>>38065612
>Willow hasn't really told me much about this cult that dragged you to Blackhoof.
Seems like one of those things most wouldn't want to talk about. Aw hell are we gonna have to write a field report or something? I hope not.
>>
>>38065612
We don’t know much about it either. We know it’s headed by Tome’s insane boyfriend and that he’s been collecting amulets of discord in order to steal the fate of the alicorns for both himself and Tome, but not much more than that
>>
>>38065684
It's one-sided, abusive.
He claims to love Tome but doesn't listen to her or take her feelings into account.
>>
>>38065612
You know, when I pictured meeting Willow's parents I thought it would involve less blood loss.
>>38065696
Sounds like every girl I've every been with, a bit less attempted murder though... not counting Willow of course, ma'am.
>>
>>38065696
I use boyfriend loosely
>>
Whatever happened to that amulet?
>>
>>38065716
i bet the word boyfriend isnt in Tome's dictionary
>>
>>38065779
We hid it.
We can't go to recover it yet.
>>
>>38065779
Since only us and Willow know where it is, I’m trusting you guys to not reveal it’s location. In fact, try to avoid ever mentioning that we have it.
>>
>>38065788
Yea, she's a pony. She'd use coltfriend instead. The word is just a euphemism for 'person you're fucking' anyway.
>>
>>38065802
>>38065826
There are two kinds of retards.
>>
>>38065779
>>38065802
What are you two tards on about?
We hid it for a reason, listen to >>38065826
>>
>>38065845
I assure you there are more than two kinds.

>>38065858
We can trust Melody.
>>
>>38065875
No, that’s literally not the point. The safest thing to do is shut up about it. Do not mention it to anyone. You don’t know who might be listening. Not only that, but by telling her you also make her complicit in its secrecy. We know that Tome’s deranged lover is willing to torture to get what he wants, and by telling Melly that we have it, we put her in a position where she might be forced to keep that secret under threat of torture. The best thing to do is keep fucking quiet about it. Don’t fuck over our soon to be mother-in-law with shortsighted mistakes
>>
No, you shut up!
>>
>>38065827
troon alert
>>
>>38065684
Knowing his immediate goal is a good start I think. Good job us :D.
>>
>>38065612
Another important thing about the cult is that they apparently managed to sway the head of SMILE into designating the princesses as cryptids to further their goals. The agent who was with us in Blackhoof had just escaped from that, we don't know how many in SMILE stayed loyal to the princesses. Speaking of whom, I guess the princesses may know more about Sequi or could even have known her? Something to keep in mind if we ever get an audience.
Also with that situation brewing I'm surprised PHEAR still has jobs for us and isn't in full crisis mode trying to protect the sisters. Or has it been defused for now?
>>
>>38065612
it would be good intel to know how all three of us that were abducted. It would alow us to identify the cults tactics and be able to transmit that out so it does not happen to anypony else
>>
>>38065612
Got any baby pictures of Willow? If so I really need see them.
>>
>>38065612
I'd hate to make it weird, but how do you think: are we still in Blackhoof?
>>
>>38067033
Baby photos are important, I agree. Doesn't seem like the time to ask for them though.
>>
>>38067033
Ooh, when we get back think we can see them?
>>
oof
>>
>>38065612
So what is the difference between batponies and thestrals? Is it two separate species? Or two different cultures within one species? Or different social roles within one culture? Or what?

>>
>>38069442
Not many things come in eights, are memey, and have a natural ordering. The first thing that comes to mind is the fifth sphere in eightfold cosmology (7 planets + the sphere of stars, or perhaps 7 planets + ogdoad). Fifth sphere, usually governed by Mars, is sometimes described as the place where retired warriors reside. Dante outright describes them as innumerable floating lights, rings any bells? Yes, yes, I know, the structure of his heaven is (7+3)-fold, it's not the point. Another source that describes the 5th sphere as the refuge of retired divine warriors, if of a somewhat different kind, is Secrets of Enoch (7 spheres in normal versions, 7+3 in director's cut).
May also have something to do with Leary's fifth circuit.
>>
>>38070933
You're overthinking it.
I was just referring to the 3 1/8th notes and the quarter note.
>>
>>38071235

Melly laughs.
>Melly: "Oh that's cruel, but I do. I'm going to have to show you the batty spaghetti photo."
>>38067200
>Melly: "Maybe you're thinking that as Blackhoof isn't too far away from here. Many new ponies mention this place has a weird atmosphere to it."
>>38068389
>A part of you still ponders over the previous question about thestrals and bat ponies.
>Melly: "A thestral to a bat pony is a how an Alicorn is to a regular pony. They were held in high regard, though they were held as a diety more than royaly."
>>38069999

>Melly: "I come from a family of bards and minstrels."

>>
>>38074249
Cool.
Actually it's probably a good thing you guys don't have official associations with pheer or smile.

It might be nothing but I don't think we should stay here for very long, because pheer might be compromised as an organization and they know we are here now.
>>
>>38074249
Maybe so, but you can’t just stop the woo-ing just because you got the girl. You gotta keep it up throughout the relationship. And we shall seduce her further with our fledgling yodeling skills
>>
>>38074249
I'd still like the musical help. She might like it!

>>38074284
P.H.E.A.R. isnt compromised you doofus, its SMILE that's compromised. Phear is by Luna so shed know if something was happening.

We'll e eventually leave when we get better, but we still need to train. If we dont we'll be right where we left off where some dumbass asks to touch the strings again.

>>38079938
Luna for the love of Faust, please let me submit a new weapons design to replace the flintlock. The design is archaic and inaccurate. A better replacement would be a shotgun, a trench gun. It could be loaded with salt with bird shot, salt slugs, or just regular slugs. When I say slugs, think less about the bugs, and more akin to miniature canon balls the size of a golf ball that can be fired in quick succession.
>>
>>38080492
Wait, this is a dream! We can show her examples of functioning firearms that can be used against cryptids, and possibly suppressors! Ah man I hope we get some royalties for some gun designs.
>>
>>38079938

>>
>>38081276
since you are i, and i are you, my comment still stands as i do frustrate yourself too
>>
>>38081297
No, what I'm talking about is making pump action shotguns, or fuck even lever action ones. So long as we get some shotguns, we can hit ghosts with salt slugs in rapid succession, and in less time because all you gotta do is load in more tubes into the chamber.
At the fastest after firing one of the salt blasters, you need to loading it with powder, then salt, then pack it down with paper to hold it all down, then maybe add something else(?), then fire. And all of that can talk anywhere between half a minute to a minute and a half. Where as it takes less than five seconds to grab a shotgun shell from a bandoleer and load it.

If we're too stupid to figure out how a pumps tion works, we can just make it a single action with an attached alof system.

pretty sure there is no internet here. Do you's have any actual working knowledge of firearm construction, or is this the hey its neat and great but we dont know how to actually do any of it.
>>
>>38080492
>>38081667
>>38082093
Ah yes, because we can absolutely design modern firearms without the aid of the internet. And build them in a largely medieval time period, with Equestria's highly advanced chemical and metallurgical engineering and large industrial manufacturing facilities. And go from design to prototyping to testing to mass production in a timescale which is useful to us, without having to abandon our allies for months or years, while they're at their most vulnerable. Yep, that's totally going to happen. Let's completely abandon the established plot and setting, because muh guns.

As much as I would love to give the princess a hug, we're kind of in a real big shitshow right now and should focus on not getting the princesses killed
Once we save them, we'll make a hug of each of them our reward
>>
>>38082173
Modern firearns no, but if a flint system can be manufactured than 100% a breech loading cartridge gun can be and it would be many many times faster to fire and more reliable than what are teammates are currently betting their lives on. Even if we have to fianance it ourselves on a gun by gun basis and produce paper cartriges ourself in our spare time.
>>
>>38082173
>>38082230
But you are also correct in that my gun autism is flaring up and it would be a massive undertaking that would no doubt put the entire plot on hold.

At long last love has arrived

And if it's quite alright,

>>38083534
Luna says that she wants regular updates from you, no matter how slight the paranormal is. Also we do have a mission involving a weegee board and possibly a demon later on tonight.

But that’s later, and this is now. More kissing!
>>
>>38083534
Just hearing your sweet voice is medicine for the soul and something we needed right now.
>>38083592
Am I sure? Hell nah, but weirder things happened and you know it just as well as I do. All things considered, her eyes were stunningly pretty and yours have the same gentle beauty to them.
There is a lot to talk about. We can debrief you in a moment, but for now I would really, REALLY appreciate if we could just cuddle for 5 more minutes.
>>
>>38083592
Well the biggest blue pony there ever shall be was there, and she's like a dreammeister or something, and she acted like it was real. So probably.
>>
>>38083592
Luna was there, she talked to her too.
She told us she was expecting a report from you and that we were record all supernatural events in this area and that she was sending more phear members this way.

Also unrelated but some colts probably summoned a demon in a nearby abandoned hospital.
>>
>>38083619

Yeah ... I thought so too.
But I back and am looking for evidence that dragons have appeared.
We have not seen that we can be so unlucky.
>>
>>38083730
We're sorry for nearly getting ourselves killed out there. One of us had a really dumb idea and just went for it like an idiot. We promise to not try doing anything like that again.
Hug and hold her close once more.
>>
>>38083730
Hugging isn't illegal last I checked. Maybe we should get into a different position though?

Sequi has been watching over you for a while, since you were a foal even.
She's kind of your namesake, she looks like a purple wisp out here.
>>
>>38083739
No, we don't look cool, but these wounds are not important because our soul and memory are intact and we are still here.
>>
>>38083755
We should not be too hard on ourselves, we were just out of luck.
>>
>>38083769
That whole thing was a trap. You could say we were... strung along.
>>
>>38083776
That we put our lives... on the line.
>>
>>38083730
alright, lets look presentable.
>>
>>38083790
Everyone who works in this profession puts their lives at risk. Think about a soldier. One wrong move and it's over. He is then only a memory.
But we are in a worse position. We risk not only our lives but also our souls. But someone has to do it.
Coming back, we made this mistake, but we're alive and that's the most important thing.
>>
>>38083839
It was a pun. Because of the strings. The string that cut us up. The string that almost took our lives. Put our lives on the line... line like string.
>>
>>38083730
We might be covered in cuts, but we're fine, willow. Really. A bit of rest and we're our old selves again.
Better than that, actually. We learned from our mistakes and are a more mature us. That has to count for something, right?
Sequi didn't tell us too much, but she made it clear that the veil around Blackhoof is getting thinner and thinner. Which is not something I really want to experience if I can help it. Some kind of corruption seems to be seeping out of it and infecting the surroundings though.
According to Sequi herself, which is a silent protector helping those that can and will help you, thestrals need to return to fight this. Luna was not very happy about this.
I think Sequi wants you to step in her hoofsteps
>>
>>38083730
Then go, we can sneak out later. I don't want to cause you any more trouble. One more kiss for the road?

We should schedule a time for a date. Maybe a late night movie, dinner/breakfast at night, Netflix and chill.

how poor/well off/rich are we before we took on this job? Did we like in a dumpster? Homeless shelter? Projects housing? Appartment? Low income appartment? High end appartment? Small home? Lived with our parent?
How much money do we have? Are we absolutely broke? Some pocket bits? Few hundred bits to our name? Have a saving account? We're well off? I wanna get Willow something nice, but we cant if we're poor, and we dont get payed until a little over three weeks from now.

Gems are stupid common in Equestria, common enough for you to grab a shovel and start digging in some random pile of dirt or in a quarry to find one. We can try finding a gem then grinding it into shape, possibly for a heart shaped necklace. We wouldn't have to spend much bits beyond the necklace and needing to rent to tools to grind gems. If anything it'd be practice to improve our skills.

we are absolutely not heading to the clinic, we are to report back our findings. We couldnt even trot at a moderate speed a few hours ago, Rain is still heavily recovering and now you want to go after something that can easily take us down. You triple string chaser.
>>
>>38086953
I'm with this guy, if someone has to drag us out we'd be a liability to the group instead of a help.
>>
>>38086928
Well darn, you colts were very brave to head into that clinic alone. Remember its also brave to admit when your in over your heads. So please don't go playing around with ghosts and such. Well unless you wait a few years and sign up with PHEER. Could always use a few more stallion, place is getting kinda girly if you ask me.
>>
>>38086967
what's the plan then, question these colts and go home? Seems like we should at least try and get a reading on the place
>>
>>38086982
get every detail we can from the kiddos, see if we can get that granny notebook, and deliver that to the gals with willow. Just as Willow and Dusk have stated , its best to get all the history you can before engaging against the oddities
>>
>>38086953
It should be fine this time around after we had a recovery nap, and the more activities we so the stronger we'll be for it. It's not like we're going back to sleep after this, so we might as sell join the team in helping.

>>38086937
>>38086953
I don't think it's our decision to make. We should ask our commanding officer.
>>38086928

Joking? Carrot and stick; you can't admonish them for doing something clearly retarded without complementing them. And a little encouragement into a profession and a warning to wait never hurt either.
>>
>>38087000
Ew, never say commanding officer again. We're not in the Equestrian Arny Mechanical Division Reserves. Calling Willow commander sounds too formal, and I think she has a different title. Captain? Group leader? Definitely something beyond CO.
Yes we're gonna bring everyone everything we find, but i expect us to attend the clinic as back up in case something goes weird.
>>
>>38087017
Yeah we probably figure out the actual organization structure. Also we should read through all that sign on paperwork...

Sorry for dumping all of this on you, Burdock. I'm sure you haven't done anything wrong, but I don't really know what's going on, so take it with a grain of salt. I think it means that it's going to be easier to summon ghosts, but harder to do it safely? I'm not actually sure. It's just a thing that one nice thestral told us in our dream. Our sense of danger isn't particularly sharp either.
>>38087755
Brutal. The salt won't fall off as quickly if we'll dissolve it in water and soak the wood in it for a few days.

So we can't say with certainty if our spook is in the clinic and was able to reach the weegee board or if it's connected to the board/notebook and needs the clinic for more power, but it clearly tried to lure Burdock there.
I also think we should avoid talking about thestrals and maybe the veil and such to ponies who don't need to know about it, as far as we know the cult isn't taken out yet so we shouldn't risk this information getting to the wrong ears. Especially here where we're close to Blackhoof, I bet there are some cultists around.

>>38087755
Generally close encounters should be avoided at all costs, but applying some salt to the pick wouldn't be a terrible idea if there's a corrosion-preventing rune (to avoid carrying around too many things).

>>
>>38088113
We got lucky, but people really need to stop chasing strings this early. Earlier we still had Melly with us, this time we were alone. It is recommended to not exercise heavily for a few days after donating blood and our condition was far beyond a simple donation. Blood takes time to refill, you can't just shake it off.

>>38088124
No, but we need to not collapse alone first, and beating or matching a 6 with a seven-sided die is a tall order.

>>38088151
Rain wanted to accompany the colts home, maybe she'll take some readings at one of the colts' homes, the one who found his gram's luigi board and had it tell him to come to the clinic with the help of her notes. Grammy apparently knew and used runes, too. At the clinic the three heard whispers, possibly "she comes", had stuff whirled around, and one had his tail pulled.
>>
>>38088151
I fought some bushes. I won, didnt find any dropper bits though.
Rain offered to escort Ms Clash and the colts back home. On another note, I got a great idea for ghostbustin tech: we get a bat and coat that sucker in a mix resin of the super salt and resin, maybe even bedazzle that sucker with salt rocks. R&D can eat their hearts out, this shit ain't hard.

The ouija board belonged to one Kilim Motive who apparently had training in runes.
The colts took it to the abandoned hospital because a "ghost" told them to.
>>
>>38088151
does the name Kilim Motive Thestral, that was Burdocks grand mother. That seemed to gain Rains attention, but I have no idea.

The notebook of his grandmother with all her runes and spells was left with that ojeiga board near the front of the clinic.

Burdock stated that a host communicated to him after he found the board and told him nicely he could talk to his grandma with the board in the clinic
