Do you like Morishita as the current gunpla box artist or should someone else be given a crack at it?
>>22242162I like him. His box art gives a nice realistic feeling to it and fits well alongside irl scale models.
Yeah sure I'd fap to that box art.
>>22242162I remember on my way to vacation in the mountains, I visited a hobby story along the way on a whim, and saw this boxart. Bought it and assembled it while on vacation and that's how I got into mecha.
>>22242162I think whoever decided that the go-to look should be "washed-out watercolors" should be fired. The boxart looks nothing like the mech, and it looks nothing like the anime. There needs to be visual consistency between at least two of those if not all three.
>>22242458Mostly this, the ethereal watercolor look pairs better with high fantasy than angular robotics.I like it better than the layout of >>22242444, but there's a happy medium in there somewhere.
>>22242162Where the fuck do I find just the art without the text?
>>22242572>All of that pointless color trashing up the image>Mechs barely visible behind all of itEw.
>>22242629If I wanted to look at a nice clean build I'd stare at the fucking model
>>22242643Unless the beams and lights come with the model, they shouldn't be front-and-center and shitting everything up. You can't even tell me what color the mechs are supposed to be because the image has so much shiny and distracting bullshit going on.
>>22242676It's p-bandai so there's little chance of people using the box art as their incentive to buy
>>22242458That's just his style.
>>22242444Hey does the exia mg hold up to today's gunplay standards?
Reminder Morishita isn't just a boxart artist, he draws loads of their trading cards too, from Gundam War to whatever the latest iteration is.
>>22242887And arsenal base
>>22242885It's still in my closet collecting dust but I remember that the arms were prone to falling off, and it was hard to keep the laser sword and shield attached. Since then I bought the real grade Kimaris Trooper and Grimgerde and remember they are much sturdier, don't recall having an issue with those.
Some oldies
>>22242899
>>22242902
>>22242904
>>22242904wrong res
>>22242887But is is what he's known for.
>>22243727What anime?
>>22245661Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa
>>22242890That's a very slick aerial rebuild.
>>22256793Whats this red gunk
>>22242885iirc the limbs aren't up to snuff, it could use a 2.0 but I think there's 3rd party metal parts to keep it intact too.
>>22256796Mould maybe? See if it cleans off. I built one about a year ago and it most certainly did not have that.
>>22242162I like him a lot
>>22242162Yeah his box arts are nice, but i wouldn't mind if Bandai hire other guys more often. I would love to have an Ebikawa box art for modelkits but unfortunately he is too premium and only hired for Bluray boxes.
>>22260167He's also busy designing new machines.
>>22242162He's great, but sometimes he misses the mark.
>>22242162I don't like him
>>22250770What show is this?
>>22264852It's the bellzelute from SRWJ
>>22263054>Aerial's gun looks bentKek
>>22268979That's just perspective.
>>22266845>>22268816I love dual pieces like this.
>>22242162I think his art itself is good, but agree with some other anons that I don't think watercolors really work for mecha.
>>22276704Love how three separate cards come together.
>>22274623I think it works well enough.
>>22256796it's the rubber deteriorating. Bandai tried to fix this with using the vinyl style covers on the Thunderbolt kits, but unfortunately they look bad.
>>22247261What game is this from?
