Torso mounted is best mounted if you have to be on board at all.Panoramic is good tech, but as a set piece, I feel its too distracting in the cockpit scene. Monitor clusters just look cooler. Open glass as mentioned before is retarded.Controls, manual joystick controls are coolest, even if they dont really make sense. The more practical and still cool systems are the augmented reality goggles, the man-machine interfaces (neurohelmets, the IBO wired in your spine shit, etc), stuff like that. G-Gundam's body suit shit is cool but the idea of standing in your tumble and rumble mech and not being pasted on the wall is goofy. Tracking gloves for hand manipulation is cool. As for AI, I feel like once you get into the biped humanoid form, you need AI assist heavily, but total AI control is lame, why even have a pilot at that point?Gimme mix of battletech and the ZakuII cockpit

While is a cluster fuck, the Getter was made to use various gimmicks, transform and do complex movements. And it's mostly analogic. While more streamline controls may exist with better automatizatisation, it may hinder the abilities of the Getter pilots.
