I liked the episode where Nadia and Jean get high as fuck on shrooms for example.I hated the NTR shit in Africa though, I would skip that episode. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING.Still, the last 5 episodes of Nadia more than redeem the island arc anyway.

>>22121118Its not a big mistery, Nadia was always meant to be a NHK franchise and they were trying to push it a bit, the movie production was decided at the point the tv series, novels and other stuff were given the go ahead, problem was just that Gainax, who got the gig of the tv show, was so much in the red and hands off with this project management wise that no one in the creative staff took part in it, NHK also must have given up on the thing because a good chunk of the movie is just footage from the series lazily shoed in.In other words, NHK had to produce a movie so they did shit one out, Nadia didnt become a big franchise and nobody cared that much for it, the show only got to be pretty good based on very specific circumstances, and even then according to Anno it was really chaotic.

It's a neat little detail that I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I like how in Jean and Nadia's very first meeting, it hints at Nadia being Nemo's daughter. Since when Jean first sees Nadia, he thinks she's Indian at first glance. If you've never read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Captain Nemo was the Indian prince of Bundelkhand who built his super submarine after a rebellion destroyed his home. Granted that's basically where the similarities to the literary Nemo end but that's a neat little similarity and I wonder if the creators intended to make that connection or not.
