I will never understand /m/'s long-standing fascination for this show. Like, I get people liking tits, but in Godannar (and really, Kimura shows in general) they all look generic and plastic-like. The bodies are all doll-like, samey, with unnaturally long and thin torsos that completely mismatch the head for proportoins, and there's a complete lack of muscle definition and body fat.And those are just the problems I have with the female character designs. That's not taking into account the flaccid plot, the wooden characters, the frustrating writing... Pretty much the only saving grace from this are the robots, since most of them are a neat callback to 70s shows, but that's about it.

On episode 21 right now, probably gonna try and finish it this week next time I get another comfy time for a long watch session or two.Great show, though desu so far I think I actually kinda like the first season better than the second, though I'm just on the verge of the climax so my opinion might change shortly. First 12 episodes did a really great job of rapid firing genuinely emotional stuff (introducing Gou and Anna's whole deal, Rou's dad dying, etc.), cute romance, drama and plot beats, etc. at rapid pace. Second season feels like it slowed down a tiny bit in order to jump around between the other nation's pilots, as well as the gou/anna separation arc. Minor complaint though, overall a damn good show and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Been avoiding this thread for spoiler reasons (so many backlog shows I'm finally catching up on and it feels great).

I played on hard mode and it was a nice challenge.The 3D models make great use of the PS2's jiggle physics. The characters are modeled from head to toe and if you beat the game there's a nice little model viewer. I expect it had a fair share of seed spilled to it back in the dial-up era.There is a small amount of new story, but it's mostly just clips from the show.I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth the asking the asking price, but nowadays when you can emulate it for free on a toaster I say it's worth playing for any fan of the series.
