Find a flaw.
>>21744086The fact that Tomino flip-flopped on G-Reco happening after Turn A.
>>21744086It's not longer.
>>21744113It doesn't really matter, you stupid obsessed timelinetard.Kill yourself.
>>21744086Bad protagonist, slow paced, failure to celebrate non-UC entries for an anniversary series, low quality animation.
Full disclosure, I didn't like the mustache. I wanted to, I tried. But I still like it more than any of the attempts at redesigning it to be cool. Otherwise I got no beefs with it. What else ya wanna circle jerk about faggot?
>>21744170>failure to celebrate non UC entries?there were G Gundam references all over the place
>>21744170try watching it again with your eyes open this time
Clunky, frequently bad animation, tons of major things just didn't look very good until the compilation movies reanimated some parts, it's just hidden behind really nice artwork. The Aztec arc is awful, worse than the infamous ZZ Gundam oneGym Ghingnham is a terrible one dimensional antagonist pulled out of nowhere because the show hadn't developed an actual conflict that could evolve around fights
>>21744170LMAO. Talk about try hard. Nothing you said is even remotely true with turn a.
>>21744086I can't. It's the 3rd best Gundam media after 0080 and G-Witch
>>21744207Slow paced and low quality animation and objectively trueIt's just that slow paced isn't necessarily a problem
She lost
>>21744274Loran will go back to her after Dianna dies.
It got cut short and we didn't get the full moon society arc.
>>21744086No kits
>>21744086No Kapool reprints in over 20 years.
>>21744274Good.
>>21744086Turn X didn't appear more
>>21744086I was about to say that I can't.Then I remembered those two Aztec episodes.
>>21744113>>21744126It kind of does, it recontextualizes the Moonlight Butterfly if G-Reco is set before Turn A. It means that when the Turn X floats into the solar system, it didn't bring the apocalypse. Humanity in the solar system had already created the apocalypse in the G-Lucifer, the Turn X just brought a strong battery to power it.
>>21744654we have no indication G-Lucifer's moonlight butterfly is anywhere as strong
>>21744654No, it doesn't, for the simple reason that nothing about the Moonlight Butterfly's origin is presented in either show. Not the Turn X, for that matter. The idea it was found floating at the edge of the Solar System is from supplementary books, not the show. The origin of the system and units has no bearing on either show.
>>21744640Turn X was no the main suit
>>21744781okay and? it's a cool design that I wanted to see more
>>21744661 Supplementary material that was made by the same people as stuff that either couldn't be made to fit into the show or wasn't explicitly necessary for the plot. Doesn't make it irrelevant. Acting like it's worthless is beyond retarded.
>>21744113My biggest gripe with this is that G reco being pre Turn A would make so much sense world building wise, the whole Adeskan myth about the world Tree in Turn A just fits perfectly as the rins of the capital tower from G-reco
>>21744881No? The Adeskan tree was on South Mexico while the Capital Tower is somewhere in Brazil.
>>21744895Close enough for word of mouth to get the details wrong over a few thousand years.
>>21744661http://www.turn-a-gundam.net/mobilesuit/26.html> Originally, it is believed to have been built for people who were once called Newtypes, and in the Earth sphere of ∀, where Newtypes do not exist, their abilities are not fully demonstrated.> However, the fact that it exerts power to overwhelm ∀ even when piloted by a normal person's Ginganum indicates its high performance.> The name "X" is derived from "the one whose path was bent by the tenth (X) star". Leaving the possibility that it was created outside the solar system, it records "black history" data. It's not from supplementary books, it's from Sunrise's official profile.
>>21744881We have a good idea of what the Adeskan was because the Zacktraeger was part of it and the Zacktraeger is a mass driver that accelerates ships towards the moon. The orbital "elevator" was likely not a conventional elevator at all but a network of mass drivers that launched vehicles towards each other. It's implied there were a bunch of satellites like the Zacktraeger and they use a mass driver to get up to space to get to the Zacktraeger in the first place. The chances of the Adeskan tree being related to the conventional Capital Tower are unlikely. There are a whole slew of issues with putting G-Reco before Turn A besides the tech, like where was Venus Globe when Armageddon was going on and what was the moon/towasanga doing? Going by From Past To the Future and staff statements Venus Globe has access to UC's ultimate technologies like the Photon Torpedoes and can just mass produce them. Psycoframe and Moonlight Butterfly too. The Turn A definitely didn't show enough power to stop an army of G-Lucifers wearing perfect packs lined with psycoframe if a Venusian army just pulled up on Earth to stop it from plunging the world into utter chaos.
>>21744086Laura was fucking stupid plot point. it really never mattered who fucking piloted it. Laura was just there to hint that Guin was fucking gay but never really pushed it.
>>21745235On the topic of Guin, he looked so fucking dapper in the finale with Merrybell.
>>21744086Second half felt very rushed compared to th first half
>>21744802The show works without that information. It has to, because it's not there. If the show works with or without that knowledge, then knowing it isn't necessary and doesn't inherently change anything.>>21744895The Adeskan people are just located somewhere in South America, not middle America. Which wouldn't really make sense anyway, because you generally wouldn't build a space elevator away from the equator like that.>>21745136Where do you think the site got that from, anon? All that info is ultimately from Tomino's notes, released in data books in the years following Turn A.
>>21745235Loran wanted to pilot it without the moon people knowing he betrayed them.
>>21744179But none for Wing and X.>>21744185I saw the compilation movies, my views did not change.>>21744207Except yes it is.
>>21745383
>>21745383Imagine not watching the show you are complaining about or even worse, watching at 1.5X speed
>>21744086I think the story gets a little confused towards the end in terms of direction. It feels like it really should have ended on the moon.
>>21744274Sochie herself is the show's biggest flaw. Unbearable bitch who should have been shot down early in the series.
>>21745424Sochie is the emotional heart of the show. You are correct about this though>Unbearable bitch
>>21745383X has one of the most blatant Black History scenes that almost fools Gym while he's duking it out with Loran.
>>21745383>compilation moviesWhy are zoomers like this. Just watch the show. You're basically watching a clip show with half the context missing. How are you possibly even entertained?
>>21744170
>>21745402Wow, A scene when it should have had more.>>21745552That's not a real ref and you know it.>>21745554Seen both the series, every episode, and both movies. Turn A is inferior to most of the franchise.>>21745563Not duel.
>>21744086Sochi being cucked in the end is an objective flaw in its storytelling. It didn't need to happen.
>>21745575
>>21745664for what it's worth iirc Tomino also admitted he wasn't entirely happy with that and that he was too cruel to her
>>21745714Makes sense for her character at least. She definitely got the short end of the stick but she still spends most of the show clinging to Loran and refusing to properly grow up. It’s funny really cause she’s the first one to join the Militia to prove herself and to get ahead of the others but in the end, she’s the only one left behind. It sucks, but it makes sense. She was still too immature
>>21745575Nice backpedaling. Watch the show next time you want to complain about it.
>>21745383The Zssans Harry and Loran fight on the Moon are mostly unpiloted with robotic movements controlled by a central unit, so may be Mobile Dolls using the Zero System and the Bandit Merrybell pilots has a second, unpiloted bit mobile suit.>>21745737She didn't join the militia to prove herself; she joined because she wanted revenge for her father's death. She spent the days following the initial attack in bed, refusing to properly deal with her grief or do anything beyond whine about it and waiving the prospect of revenge was the only way Miashei could think to get her to move on. It was a fundamentally childish motivation, and she spends the first half of the show being childish until Will Game dies, at which point she's shocked out of her mindset and finally starts to grow up. Her arc is becoming an adult, where Loran, Kihel, Harry, Dianna etc. are more adult in their viewpoints and actions from the start, so it's not surprising she was the one to be left behind.
>>21745702>Eva spammingTypical plebbitor.>>21745751No backpedaling and I watched every episode at normal speed.
>>21745797Ain't you like.....pro speed watching tho? Or at least an advocate of the sort?
>>21745797
>>21745810Never spedwatched. Only thing close to it was in that last portion of 2001: A Space Odyssey after HAL got defeated by turning his brain off, I knew in advanced there was no dialogue so I just fast forward once the astronaut got to the Jupiter obelisk. Haven't had to do anything like that before or since. Pretty colors though.
>>21745821
>>21745821>Never spedwatched.
I saw it once, never saw again. Kinda meh.Protagonist is bland.I don't even remember who was the main antagonist. The princess was also bland.Zeta Gundam on the other hand, I saw many times already.
>>21745842Not my post, anon.
>>21745251Nah, it really wasn't.
>>21745348then he fucking announced to the world that he's moon race. what a fucking tool and the fucking Laura goes nowhere. shit plot point
>>21744881>>21744895>>21745101Wait a fucking minute... SEED's Panama mass driver is in the same exact spot!
>>21746600iirc Fukuda DID say Turn A was his favorite, and I think there might have been a few more references like the lunar city being intentionally similar to Turn A's.
A major flaw I noticed while watching is that Loran's ass isn't on my face right now.
>>21744086sochie dumped.
>>21746600Again, Adeskan is in South America not Middle America.
>>21744086Gundam
>>21746687Source? I haven't seen any Turn A map that says this.
>>21746709Have you seen any saying the civilization based on the Incans (who were based around modern Peru) was based in a completely different part of the continent?
>>21744274She's so hot. The sexiest character in Gundam.
>>21746727Why are you referencing real life? Turn A Gundam is not real.
Ah yes, Turn A Gundam. Full of great characters like Meme and Cancer. This anime starts off so strong and the premise of the moonrace returning to settle an earth where people seemingly lost their knowledge of certain technology. It's pissed away all of its potential a quarter of the way in and just throws in lots of clutter that goes nowhere. It's really a terrible show upheld by a few charming characters (amongst a sea of awful ones).
>>21746648You lost, Guin
>>21746734The place names in Turn A (and G-Reco) have names that are deliberate corruptions of real places. Ameria is America, Luzianna is Louisiana, Tejas is Texas and so on. Cupa, Erizona, Floria with it's capital of Myani and so on. There's even a city called Albany in Inglessa mentioned during the show that is in Inglessa; which corresponds to modern day upper East coast America. So what do you think Manuipich, the name for the city the Adeskans live in is a corruption of? You know, the people modeled on Incans, Mayans and other South American civilizations in a multitude of ways. Machu Pichu, perhaps?Never mind that, again, the "Ades Tree" is a myth about an orbital elevator, which is generally going to be built along the equator. More importantly though, this official map of Ameria from the "Wind of Moon" book includes Zacktraeger (ザックトレーガー) in South America. So what exactly makes you think the Adeskans, Manuipich and the Zacktraeger were in Mexico?
>>21746600SEED has a ton of deliberate references to Turn A. He embraced the "all roads lead to Turn A" idea. This and the lunar cities are the most blatant.
>>21745797Duel, You admitted you don't even watch mecha shows. You just come here to shitpost and get butthurted.
>>21746605You’d think with Turn A being his fave he’d understand how to write and direct a good story then
>>21744086Slow, lacks fights, ugly gundam, faggotbait mc, looks like it was made in the 80s.
>>21747628>looks like it was made in the 80s.
>>21747182It also has references to UC despite the fact they both continue from the AD calendar
>>21747447You'd think Okouchi would be able to write having worked on like 4 episodes of Turn-A, but here we are.
>>21744086ugly designs, terrible writing, garbage characters, all of which work to put it easily in the bottom 5-10 worst entries in the franchise.
>>21747628>looks like it was made in the 80s80s anime looks very different from Turn A, which actually is pretty in line with stylistic trends at the time. Watch more anime.
>>21750079
>>21750065King Gainer, Planetes and Code Geass are great though
>>21750087damn turn a is fucking gorgeous still
>>21750140Being shot on 35mm camera definitely helps - it will take a 4k rip to actually capture all the detail present on the film stock itself.
>>21750087Pure kinografie. Last cel Gundam and on 35mm film too even though there were already some digital scenes.Gundam could've ended here and it would've been totally fine.
>>21750135You can like Code Geass all you want, but don't go saying the writing was actually good. Also, Valvrave and G-Bitch show that he's lost his touch.
>>21750079ZZ's animation is underrated
>>21751204>You can like Code Geass all you want, but don't go saying the writing was actually good.Eh, it depends. You can find good and bad writing together in everything you listed. Just like in an other Gundam. It sounds like you simply didn't like the new show.
>>21744086There is no flaw
>>21744086Character design is shit but otherwise, it's a masterpiece in narrative, presentation and story-telling
>>21751204Valvrave is proof media literacy died in the past decade, it absolutely mogs the average Gundam AU.

I've read somewhere that a lot of tourists and weebs who've seen some anime in their life, but aren't really into mecha pretend to love Turn A for clout points. Is that true? I'm a tourist myself, just asking out of curiosity because this is the best place.
>>21762560I doubt it. Liking mecha is tantamount to liking toys and grown adults that watch serious animes would never lower themselves to watching it.
>>21762560i have no idea why someone would pretend to love turn a. usually people assume gundam is shit because they know it sells a lot of toys"i hate mecha but i love this" shows include eva, gurren lagann and code geass
>>21762560Ask them to identify some of the units in the Black History sequence, what Gundam Corin Nander saw or ask them when the Kapool was first used. This is generally a good indicator if they've seen other Gundam series. The answer to Corin is Wing Zero, the Kapool was first seen in ZZ.
