>>21741392Design and genealogy-wise it's a good addition, but in-universe I don't see Lelouch himself wasting a Guren Nishiki performance machine on his poor piloting skills if it has no all round shields or powerful long range artillery.
Code Geass isn't /m/>>>/a/ is that way
>>21741392After all the KMF's released in the game, a guren type with a rifle and grenade launchers feels tame. I hope we get to see it again as an upgraded version or a MC version.
Hey, can I say this again? Do most of you hate other Mecha series because you consider them as "w*Mecha" and not manly enough despite code Geass being made for the shoujo audiences in mind? Got screwed over by shounen tourists who claims code Geass to be the only best Mecha series ever made
HG Guren Seiten is out.Looks glorious.
>>21741392Well, I don't like Rakshata's creations. They are too awkward - too disproportionate design, an excess of unnecessary elements and the presence of impractical details. All in all, the Guren-type series doesn't look functional. To be fair, British knightmares, after Glasgow and Sutherland, are also underwhelming. KoR models are ugly and unsuccessful, as evidenced by their unsuitability for mass production. For example, the Bradford/Tristan are technically superior to the Somersets, but the latter were simpler and produced in large numbers, with the potential to be upgraded. Attempts to adapt Lancelot for mass production ended with the fact that the Wards were deprived of almost all super-technologies from the prototype. An exception could be called Gareth, but in the process of adaptation they have lost the ability to close combat, which is also bad. As a result, many resources and efforts are wasted.Just thinking out loud. The Europeans should modernize and improve the Panzer-Hummel series, because the Alexanders turned out to be too complex and strangely unreliable. Roughly speaking, the new generation of Europe's knightmares is too far out of the combat doctrine of the "most democratic" troops.Chinese Gun-Rus are not at all suited to the claimed doctrine of numerical superiority due to overall poor design and weak armament. Shen-Hu and Chu-Yen, on the contrary, are designed exclusively for close combat. The Chinese winds from one extreme to another: /Zilkhstan doesn't seem to have decided on a doctrine to use his knightmares at all.

So I finally had time to take a look at OZ to see how it fits in the LS timeline:-Photonovel chapters 11, 13 and 14 were covered in Lost Zero chapter 2. So the entire 1st vol of the photonovel had already happened by Lost Zero chapter 2.-Manga was already after vol.3 by Lost Zero chapter 2-L&G Side: Suzaku starts at Lost Zero chapter 1So, Lost Zero started a bit before or during Akito ep1 and by Lost Zero chapter 2 Akito had already ended and OZ was already halfway thru. That fits almost nicely besides being rushed, but chapter 17 of OZ photonovel has Orpheus trying to stop the Vercigentorix from arriving at Euro Britannia. That could have only happened before or during Akito ep1. Not a big deal since the 2 photonovel chapters that actually happen at the EU/Euro Britannia were in vol.1.This makes you wonder how fucking fast Russia and Eastern Europe were captured by Euro Britannia who hadn't even enough manpower since they employed drones. They left basically nothing for the KoRs and Schneizel to conquest.Oh and I didn't even remember Marrybell got a 2nd custom Caerleon class ship in O2. Name is from WICKED like the Elphaba. So let's see where they will go with the next Lost Zero chapter to see if you deduce a timeline out of it.
>>21744168>That fits almost nicely besides being rushed, but chapter 17 of OZ photonovel has Orpheus trying to stop the Vercigentorix from arriving at Euro Britannia.Thats always been a sort of...non-chronological chapter, since Akito was still in production and Suzaku showing up in it, but they wanted to do a Lancelot appearance to coincide with the Trial. So Suzaku has to be back by then.Side Kallen chapter 1 was already combined into the SAZ chapter. Next chapter is already confirmed to have Schnee and Ledo getting added as playable so it probably covers Suzaku chapter 2-3, and it mentions Kallen meeting Benio so thats her 2nd chapter.
>>21744225There's nothing on the Vercigentorix transport chapter that indicates it's out of chronological order, the only chapter(12) explicitly said to be so is the Orpheus VS Zi in Bangkok. Again it doesn't really matter. The only thing set back then was OZ and Akito beginning at the same time but they were unrelated story-wise, so Suzaku being already Knight of Seven and still not in EB was not in conflict if anything.Anyways Suzaku making 2 tours to EU is kinda ridiculous, blame Akito.
>>21744251>>Anyways Suzaku making 2 tours to EU is kinda ridiculous, blame Akito. Its hilarious that you're such a hater that you truly believe OZ takes priority over Akito when Banrise couldn't give a fuck about it.
>>21744312Akito was brushed aside in LS while they covered or mentioned lots of OZ stuff, lmao.Euro Britannia is still the most ridiculous and pointless retcon in the franchise.
>>21744315>Akito was brushed aside in LS while they covered or mentioned lots of OZ stuff,A lot of that OZ stuff didn't originate from OZ and those that were was retconned. They genuinely don't give a fuck outside some specific cameos and KMF designs>Euro Britannia is still the most ridiculous and pointless retcon in the franchise. You're literally the only one who still gives a shit about that

>>21743090Pretty girls, but Good Old England without its Empire is just a syphilis-stricken Old Bitch.Seriously, what was the point of these stories about the "old times" if they did not bring anything fundamentally new to the timeline, and sometimes only confused it?
>>21744168>So, Lost Zero started a bit before or during Akito ep1 and by Lost Zero chapter 2 Akito had already ended and OZ was already halfway thru.If Zero Kagero appears during this period of time, then who is its pilot? Lelouch was playing the role of Julius Kingsley back then...>>21744168>This makes you wonder how fucking fast Russia and Eastern Europe were captured by Euro Britannia who hadn't even enough manpower since they employed drones. Were they really conquered? I mean, in "fragments of the mosaic" in democratic Europe, surviving monarchies suddenly showed up - so what if Russia, being a constitutional kingdom, simply went over to the side of Britannia due to the idiotically inefficient work of the bureaucracy and legislation in the EU?>>21744251>Anyways Suzaku making 2 tours to EU is kinda ridiculous, blame Akito.Dude, since Code Geass is an original anime, then the series and OVA is the main source, and manga and photonovelas with games, no matter how good they are in your opinion, are secondary materials. And if they contradict what is shown in the anime, then they cannot be canon, no matter how much you would like it.
>>21744420>If Zero Kagero appears during this period of time, then who is its pilot? Lelouch was playing the role of Julius Kingsley back then...Zero Kagero was already ready as a blueprint after Kyushu but it was shelved after they captured the Gawain>Were they really conquered? I mean, in "fragments of the mosaic" in democratic Europe, surviving monarchies suddenly showed up - so what if Russia, being a constitutional kingdom, simply went over to the side of Britannia due to the idiotically inefficient work of the bureaucracy and legislation in the EU?I really don't remember anything about Mosaic, so only Bahamut can answer this one. The always had Britannia already at war against the EU since S1 anime and Akito lore tells this war has been going for years. Not a big deal of a retcon since only the S1 maps need to be changed.>Dude, since Code Geass is an original anime, then the series and OVA is the main source, and manga and photonovelas with games, no matter how good they are in your opinion, are secondary materials. And if they contradict what is shown in the anime, then they cannot be canon, no matter how much you would like it.I won't bother with "canon" since not even the guys running the franchise care about it. For Geass franchise Renya, both TV series, Akito, OZ, O2, L&G, compilation movies and Re; are official works. If LS and Genesic actually bother to expand and retcon stuff unrelated to their original story then it's official setting concerning the whole franchise to me.
>>21745275I won't comment much of Mosaic because I never read it, stuff didn't interest me. But Lost Stories actually does seem to indicate that they consider Genesic canon. They referenced it at least twice, once in the Chinese Federation event when talking about the rumors of Xingke's lineage, and again in the Christmas even by mentioning the scientist William Biche, who owned the cloning lab that Frankenstein originally worked at.Also should be noted, they did include Genesicv Re;Code stuff on the options for things and characters people might like to see implemented in Lost Stories on their recent poll.I personally plan to order the artbook/databook/whatever for Genesic Re;Code when they finally announce it.
>>21745330Genesic at least has the Schrodinger and its evil counterpart to be added as KMF.

>>21747906Last time Sunrise did sex scenes was with SEED right? I wonder if they would still have the balls to do a lesbian sex scene between Oldrin and Marrybell nowadays. Valvrave had the rape thing and OZ manga also has an attempted one.Really hard to tell if they even want to animate Geass anymore since it has almost been 2 years and a half since they announced Z.

In addition, "OZ" could cover the details of civilian life and everyday stories in the CG world, but...All this was thrown into the trash in order to make a self-repetition of the original series with a couple of new pictures. Shall I watch code geass? Is it worth it? some people on Discord are just mocking me for being a mecha fan and claiming all mecha shows a ripoff compared to code geass, even claiming it was first released in 1976 claiming it predated gundam
>>21742563>They are too awkward - too disproportionate design, an excess of unnecessary elements and the presence of impractical details. All in all, the Guren-type series doesn't look functional.I mean, Rakshata was deliberately not trying to ape Britannian standard design, and she was seemingly onto something because the Guren and Gekka were comparible speed and ability wise to the Lancelot. Without Lloyd's super science and excess Sakuradite as well.
>>21750663Alright, I am NOW motivated to watch Akito>>21750862I rarely watch multiple eps of something in a day or a sitting, but Code Geass is something that hooks you in pretty quickly. Think even the first episode covers what you're in for, go for it anon. The 2006 version is fine, you don't need to watch the '76 version of Code Geass, even if you can find it.
>>21750862They're idiots then.
>>21750890Ok, another question thoughts on gundam and mecha in general?
>>21750599>how many people even care about the world of Geass?Very few, which is why Akito and such didn't really take off and they needed to bring back Lelouch again. Geass's popularity was entirely due to Lelouch and C.C. as characters. They basically made the entire show.
>>21750891Yes, they're probably just shounen fans unironically claiming code geass to be more smarter, and more manlier compare to previous mecha shows, there are mecha shows that are manly as shit yet these shounen fans don't understand about the history and the shows
>>21750898No they're idiots because Geass didn't start until 06 and absolutely did not come out before Gundam, and in fact owes some of it's story directly to Gundam. If they're saying this they're either retards who don't know a thing about the genre or they're trolling you.
>>21750917It's the latter, just saying this shit to fuck with me like they claimed LOTGH is a dumb show because it less than 2 sides and says that code geass is more superior and more smarter and more complex
>>21750892Me? I obviously like mecha, but Gundam isn't my favourite, I like supers more. CG robots are closer to real robots I think, but the robots aren't the main attraction in CG

Unfortunately, the authors did not bother and cover daily life in Britannia in detail, limiting themselves to only a couple of episodes.>Rakshata was deliberately not trying to ape Britannian standard designLet's admit that so, but why complicate everything so much to use such a sophisticated design? The Guerin-type is obviously difficult to manufacture and repair, and most of its variations have a highly controversial asymmetry of equipment.
>>21747877I think the problem is...Sunrise has lost a lot of their 2D mecha animation manpower in the last few years. They can still do it, but slowly and not like in the 90s and 80s where they could have a bunch of shows running one after the other. This means the resources need to be spread out.
>>21747916G-Witch was in pre-production for like three years, so...it might line up for Z to show up after that's done (or at least its current season, it'll probably get a sequel).

>>21750893>Very few, which is why Akito and such didn't really take off and they needed to bring back Lelouch again. Geass's popularity was entirely due to Lelouch and C.C. as characters. They basically made the entire show.Eh, that's a bit of a misleading description. Lelouch really only does anything in half of episode 3 of Akito and then gets written out. All volumes sold pretty well and around the same level. People didn't like the very end of it, for unrelated reasons, but they still made money without having a major role for those old characters.
>>21748012It's surely lacking some potential sales because there's no new anime airing alongside it, but they have a base. Just need a more direct tie-in.
>>21752073Akito also sold tickets very well.Hell, there's a Moderoid poll with Vercingetorix and Liberte as options. There's no other explanation but the people running the franchise not believing in its potential or not caring at all.
>>21750862unlike other mecha shows, code geass focuses on the characters

Times when Chekov's gun failed
>>21751345>but why complicate everything so much to use such a sophisticated design? The Guerin-type is obviously difficult to manufacture and repair, and most of its variations have a highly controversial asymmetry of equipment.Because it's better? The Guren and Gekka's ran rings around standard Britannian knightmares and were able to put up a fight against the previously untouchable Lancelot. Why would they try standard stuff to make things "eaiser"? They'll get creamed then. Every time they fought with just Burai's or stolen Sutherland's, Lancelot destroyed them without a scratch. And even Britannian regular forces were a threat without Lelouch's Geass tricks giving them an advantage. They needed those irregular but powerful designs.
>>21752272I forgot to give you a (You) for the dinopost but maybe we can start watching it at the same time, wouldn't that be vaguely cool?Have you read Oz yet? Been watching supers and other stuff instead to get around to it
>>21752495We'll talk about Eldran shows in the "backlog thread" instead I have not read Oz and it doesn't seem to be completely translated anyways.
>>21752501Then what's the hubbub about, people mention it as if it's first-hand info
>>21752504Theres a number of us in these Geass threads on /m/ who were actively following its release
So Genesic had a story where Julius and Suzaku fought in the Georgia Republic before the Akito events, that's supposed to be the explanation of why Lancelot isn't in its Air Cavalry form in Akito since the Float Unit was damaged/destroyed there.Does anyone have a video of this event? So much interesting lore in these gachas, they need to be archived for future reference.
>>21754234It might be worth checking Nicovideo or Youtube.
>>21754282I literally have no idea which chapter it would be so I'm asking here if someone here who played/followed Genesic like Bahamut could point the right way.BTW it seems the LS protagonist is supposed to be a clone of Marianne or something as a backup body for her soul. They even namedropped the scientist from Genesic that cloned Lelouch in LS.That would explain his/her piloting skill being superior to Suzaku/Kallen and everybody else.
>>21754234what was julius piloting?
>>21754321>BTW it seems the LS protagonist is supposed to be a clone of Marianne or something as a backup body for her soul. They even namedropped the scientist from Genesic that cloned Lelouch in LS.>That would explain his/her piloting skill being superior to Suzaku/Kallen and everybody else.I don't know about that. Its implied so far that in the past that they're unaware of that Carly taught them. Because both have the same fighting style of specifically targeting the enemy cockpit for killing blows. They've slowly been recovering their memories leading up to their parent's death. They recently learned they had a little sister(Seen in the OP), and Carly arriving to their house.Carly is a psychopath that even her sister, whom Carly seemed to have an obsession with, was terrified of what she could do to her family. Shes currently fixated on either getting the protagonist for herself or killing them in battle.
>>21754375Isnt't Carly a lesbian that idolizes Marianne? It seems Carly is using cybernetics or something to enhance/maintain her body(a technology known to be very developed in the Geass world, see Tink). Also, very interesting are the official protagonist names meanings: Maya means the power to make illusions and Mario means Mars the God of War. Carly's KMF is called Magdala(Mary Magdalene's hometown) which also has the same root as Marianne. In fact the gene/clone stuff is from old novel where Marianne was very proud of her genes so she even considered having Lelouch and Nunally participate in incest to make stronger offspring. She even told Charles to make Nunally blind to make the ordeal easier, lol. So GR finally put this idea into an official work with the L children. This speculation will probably end up being cooler than the official mystery of the LS protagonist.
I want to say, in regards to Lost Stories, I genuinely think its probably my favorite Code Geass work after the TV series. As much as I don't like that its a gacha game, I like the protagonist and his plot. His story has been blended in well, and I like the way he interacts with other characters. I also like how its even seamlessly blending in the Lancelot & Guren stuff into the main story. And the character expansion stuff its done nicely too.
>>21754571LS was supposed to run along L&G and GR was supposed to come later to actually fill the gaps in the worldbuilding and the gaidens of the franchise. The GR mook if it really comes out might contain some interesting lore.I also wonder what they intended to with Libra, perhaps run alongside Side Orpheus since both deal with Peacemark and Pluton? Also shed some light on why/how Clovis was researching into Geass stuff.
>>21747906>>21747877There's no lesbian sex in Oz
