Can't say I've played any of the games, but the anime has a special place in my heart. I think what I like most about Medabot designs is that they run the entire gamut of designs from more conventional-looking bots like Metabee or Sumilidon to just plain utterly weird shit like Fridgebot here. There are a lot of really bizarre designs, especially from the later games, and it gives you more of an impression that Medabots exist in all walks of life and aren't just kids' toys/pseudo-pets.

What I didn't expect was the Screws became antagonistic towards Ikki and kept backstabbing him for no reason, and the show keeps referring to Ikki as the second place winner of the world champion when the first season ended it ambiguously. I expected it to be bad and somehow it manages to be even more disappointing. After the first three episodes, there are some decent moments if you ignore the Screws and Death Metarots. I liked Nae. The ability for the Metarotters to reload the Death Medarots was a cool concept, especially since it gives the Metarotters something to do other than stand there and shout basic commands. It could have made battles more interesting if they were a part of the regular rules instead of being considered a dirty trick. The most painful part is that there were some good ideas and scenes mixed in with a lot of bad. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if they either branched into a new continuity with new characters or kept the same one but focused on more SoL type filler episodes like 4 and 5.

>>21577802They're slowly getting collabs with any anime that have even a bolt of /m/echa, so i would say that they're not doing that bad, also unlike other franchises that can release games in tandem with a mobile releases Digimon, Sonic, Pokemon, etc., Medarot seems to be struggling on the story department, that gacha kind of fits the way of earning parts like it was on the games might also be a particular strong reason to not release more games as wellOr like Mega Man in general, the IP holders/parent company just don't care/lost faith in anything but gachaI find it sad because i like exploration/being able to move around places instead of the sterile hubs.
