It is funny in seeing how this epilogue really broads the possibilities, even for a newfag as myself, all the names, things and stuff that it shows and the possibilities that we can have with it, with sequels and so on it was done pretty well.

Not even sure if it is canon or not to the whole, but as a manga, it is pretty cool.

Tanks would be far better at mulching through the armour of assault mechs like the Atlas. They'd benefit from use of much longer range weapons, so the larger mechs would paradoxically hang back unlike usual Battletech/mechwarrior combat.

Some of the light mechs run as fast as BETA herds do. Terrain providing, They'd do pretty well at defense-in-depth actions. I question how well they'd do once meeting the laser-class, for we have no metric of measuring laser weapons in Battletech vs. the ones produced by the BETA.

For me the big thing that would make them more vulnerable is the way lasers are shown to target one spot of your armor and just keep hitting it. Lasers, even pulse lasers, in battletech lore don't do that. They'll spread damage around even in a specific area until eventually they get through vs poking a pinpoint hole and getting at the soft bits.

The Steam release of the 2 main games has the H-scenes removed but there's a patch to restore them, easy to find on the very Steam forums. the modern versions also remove a bgm song even if you have the patch installed, because it was a parody of an actual song and they couldn't be bothered paying the licensing fee.
In the original releases characters also used to have erect nipples visible in clothing through various scenes but all the modern versions have removed that because they use art assets that were originally created for the japanese console ports in 2011. Installing the patches doesn't change it

My thinking was that you will have 50 to 100 BETA, each 50 tons and more, charging towards a 100 ton mech. With shells that are harder than endosteel. BETA don't fight in lances or formations, they fight in hordes. Once your mech is on its back, thats where the tank class makes sure you never stand up again.
Maybe you can load 30 machine guns on the assault mech, but then TSAs are already basically that in Muvluv.

I would have liked for Altered Fabel to delve a little more into the characters personal lives, just to see how much 00Sumika changed about the world. I'll repeat myself for the last time, but I don't think you grasp the scale of the BETA force any mech or TSF unit is going to face at any one time. It starts from 1000 and goes up to several hundred thousand at the Regiment level. How many Regiments of Battlemechs the entire Earth can field at one time? And what happens if that force takes critical losses, and then the next BETA wave comes?
Also, laser class intercepts missiles so your Arrow IVs need to be SRMs to even get to hit the targets, and that means you're in biting range of the BETA...

Laser strains probably won't last long. Outfit a couple of Light Mechs with Laser Reflective Armor and proceed to have them litteraly stomp on the Laser Strains like little bugs....

For the larger Laser variants probably a couple of medium lasers in the eyes will probably solve the equation.

I'm currently a couple hours into the first VN, is it really worth it? I despise every character and all the shitty harem cliches they bring with them. I know it ditches the harem setting later, but if these are the characters I'm stuck with I don't think I will enjoy it either way.
