==ARMORED GROUPBUILD==It's time to armor up, everyone! Build a robot or vehicle that is physically built to be as defensive as possible. Some examples include:>A robot with a heavy emphasis on shields, in quantity or size (Thunderbolt GM, GM Guard Type, etc)>A robot with additional layer(s) of armor attached for added defense (Full Armor Gundams, NT-1 with Chobham Armor, Armored Valkyries, etc)>A robot/vehicle with naturally thick armor in the first place (Gustav Karl, Mazingers, Ironclad Dreadnoughts, etc.)>A robot/vehicle with various traditional armor types attached to it (Slat armor, Reactive armor, Improvised armor, etc)You can have your standard array of armaments too, but the defensive aspect of the build is what's most important here.START - 3/15/22END - 6/30/22

>>20945945Haha! Good joke anon. When I was 15 I saw a 3 masked men drag a little boy into a van and I did nothing to stop it
>>20945942Aside from paints themselves - any kind of palette and few brushes are starting point, if planning to use enamels - dedicated thinner too. Rest are optional. For brush painting - either use waterbased acrylics (Vallejo Model/Game Color, Citadel paints) or enamels (painting with alcohol based acrylics like Tamiya is possible but unnecessary problematic compared to other options). Brushes don't have to be "dedicated modeling" ones, don't pay "modeling tax" for no reason, any kind of synthetic ones for acrylics will be fine, when in doubt, ask clerk at art store. Brands depend on region - living in Europe, I would recommend Italieri, Renesans or Milan, no idea what US stores sell. Don't fall for natural bristles meme - sure, famous sobol brushes are amazing but being natural makes them much harder to clean and they wear off much faster, beginners don't need to burn extra money for no reason. And prepare for lots of practice.
>>20945942>>20945956Yeah avoid using enamels for handbrushing beyond washes. The thing about handbrushing gunpla is that its takes a long time, enamels will drag that out even longer (its about several hours between each layer compared to about 20 mins for acrylics).

So I read that tamiya panel line accent color can make the plastic brittle and I should topcoat it ifrst. I have some acrylic clear coat in my garage glossy and matte. >>20945999Plane go fast
>>20945996I had no trouble with the back, but on the other hand attaching the lower waist pipes to the front skirt armor has been rather terrifying
>>20946005It only makes plastic brittle if you fucking slather the thing in it.
>>20946005Acrylic might not be strong enough for panel liner. It might just eat through it
>>20946005Its mainly if it gets on the joints and if you pour a fuckton on there and use tons of thinner to clean it up. If you're really worried about it the mr weathering color is less harsh on bare plastic

Snapped the balljoint for the railgun when i tried to take it back off and was lucky ot have a balden arms kit on hand to make a replacement. You'll most likely want to cement the parts that sandwich into those joints. The smoke launchers on the legs will need some glue as well.

Okay this isn't technically Gunpla per say, but it is plastic, and it is Gundam...I'm working on making a RX-79[G] Ground Gundam gijinka/mecha-musume-esque cosplay costume and one of the aspects I am custom printing is the vfin to be placed on a baseball cap. Now... the RX-79[G]'s vfin isn't all that extravagant... the majority of the finer details is on the red mount, not the fins themselves, but there does exist a heavily detailed custom that adds some detail, so I decided to mock up both and see the comparison.Which do you guys prefer? The solid yellow? Or the gold accent panel, even though it technically isn't in the OG spec of the RX-79[G]? I'm torn between "looks cool" and "is recognizable as RX-79[G]".
>>20946933Oh and obviously the things aren't attached yet, so there's some gaps. Those won't exist once the parts are fused together.

>>20947360I used the gunmetal and flat aluminium for this, it came out decent but only because of scaleideally, you should be using a rapid thinner for metallics (it gives the particles less time to move around on the surface and become glittery), but I didn't have any to hand
>>20947363wow, it's fucking nothing
>>20947367fortunately i'm a retard and buy all alclad metallics which are prethinned so I don't have to worry about this stuff but here's a good example off the web
>>20947367>>20947372I've been thinning it with the regular tamiya lacquer thinner and it does give results that are a bit closer to the right one.I haven't tried alclad but I've been using the AK xtreme metal line which is honestly pretty great since it looks good and is really durable, but it being enamel is sort of annoying since I like using oil washes and clear coating it makes it look a lot worse.
>>20945838Well that was fun. Now to paint the actual suit.
>>20947375Have you considered painting in thin layers instead of drowning the part in paint, so that all the metallic flakes just swim in the pooling paint?
>>20947382I always do really light coats.
>>20947375ak extreme are enamel? I was always under the impression they were lacquers. I painted this inner frame with them without putting down a basecoat first (lol) and it shattered into a thousand piecesmy main issue with ak is that i dont like the aluminium very much, colourwise, and thr gunmetal is very light and looks almost identical to their steelthat being said, their duraluminium is pretty nice, but alclad just has a nice variety of metallics that I use more>>20947382yeah that doesn't work
>>20947375forgot to mention>clear coating it makes it look a lot worseclear coating any metallic makes it look like ass unfortunately, especially anything with shine
>>20947391The color selection is a bit bright, yeah. That's another reason why I wanted to go for Tamiya metallics because their gun metal is really good in terms of color imo. The Tamiya LP silver also comes out really nicely and I'm not having the same issue with it as I do with the other colors.>>20947394Yeah that's the case 99% of the time, but with lacquers I wouldn't need to. That said I do have a clay based wash that works really well for the ak stuff but my autism makes me want to be able to use oils everywhere.
I thought this was acrylic but apparently I'm wrong and dumb since it doesn't wash off with water and smells like cancer. What do I thin it with then? Enamel or lacquer thinner?yes I am new
>>20947398not all acrylics are waterbasedif it's mr hobby or tamiya then it's basically a lacquer
>>20947398Ah shit I fucked up the imageIt's mr. hobby silver metallic
>>20947402yep, it's not waterbasedfor metallics go for mr hobby rapid thinner with a little bit of retarder/flow improverfor everything else use mr hobby levelling thinner
>>20947405Will isopropyl alcohol work if I just nees to clean it off the tools?
>>20947380What is a ZEONITE doing dressed in FEDERATION colors
>can't paint because it's rainingreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>>20947415I just followed the colours in the manual, so I guess they were incorrect in there.
>>20947394>clear coating any metallic makes it look like assi usually coat my metallics with vallejo polyurethane gloss varnish and i think it looks great. doesn't kill the shine or anything, you can even use it over alclad chrome without killing the mirror finish

What were they thinking?
>>20947505what do you mean?
>>20947505It would have been fine if they hadn't treated it like a normal release. If they started a special line or branding for these "1.5" kits then I'm sure this would have been received much better.
>>20947505money
>>20947514Judging from opinions here I think people would kill for a line of 1.5 kits. >Cries in Zaku 1

Would lacquer primer under acrylics help with durability of overall paintjob?
>>20947580maybe
>>20947580Whenever i get chips on my paintjobs its always towards the acrylic primer layer. It'll slightly help, but just be wary of possible paint cracking, don't do this if the laquer hasn't cured properly yet. >>20947218>hu tao pic>something low iq related attached to the postevery time, go grab ISO alcohol and throw that car garbage into the trash.

>>20947781Yuropoor spotted LOL
>>20947380How did you attach the figure to the base? Also, did you prime him and hand paint or airbrush?
What do you guys use to thin Mr. Color when doing brush touch up work? Water or leveling thinner?
>>20945535where you get the sitckers from, what are they called? and are you spraying out of the bottle in the summer heat that most of us euros are suffering from?
>>20947830I'm murican, live in a hot valley with some really shitty weather lately. Stickers were what came in the box. It's the p-bandai Vigna Ghina Berah Ronah Special. I didnt find any waterslides for it when I searched, figured its too minor of a kit to get special treatment like Dozle's custom decal sheets.
>>20947766the Kampfer 1.0 doesn't have enough to salvage for a 1.5. it would be much better for it to get the full 2.0 treatment.
>>20947820Superglue. Didn't bother priming it, I just brushed on a thin white coat first then did all the colours on top of that.
>>20947858From the pics I assume you attached him to the base first, then painted?
>>20947868Yep
>>20947876Did you give him a panel line like wash or anything after?
>>20947889Only in the lines around the yellow insignia to make it easier to fill the black in. Used tamiya panel line accent.

>>20948054looks like a shitty attempt at matte candy with a boat load of orange peel
>>20948065it looks like their technique was fine, but got fucked by humidity
Why don't people airbrush inside with a dehumidifier? You never have to worry about humidity laughing at you
>>20948070I've only ever gotten fucked by humidity when using spraycans, I can airbrush while it's raining no problem.
>>20948074this. I paint outside in the dark in the middle of winter while it's raining uphill both ways
>>20948070>>20948074that and if you're using a sufficient amount of thinner it+building up the color slowly, orange peel should never happen. I've only had orange peel while using vallejo prethinned paint straight out of the bottle.

>>20948029And you got top quality custom build as result. Very good job anon. >>20948096>50 PSI>unthinned paint>drippingThat'd be like sand blasting.
Can someone tell me what type of paint gundam markers are? Enamel, acrylic or lacquer?
>>20948108trash
>>20948109So they are acrylic, I see.
So Iwata Eclipse for an airbrush ive decided on. I'll get some cheap spray booth. Have a respirator already and dehumidifierBut whats a good compressor? Would prefer it to be on the quieter side. And I want to do lacquers. What brands should I look into?I am completely new to the painting world. Last time I painted with even a brush was in middleschool
>>20948116For lacquers, the spray booth is more important. Lacquers can be flammable if it reaches a certain concentration. Although it's unlikely to happen with a mere airbrush you should still take precautions and get a strong enough spray booth/fan that can evacuate the vapor quickly
Anyone have the HG Dragonar-1? Kinda wondering how big it is. I know it says HG but HG size can vary wildly sometimes.
>>20948165i haven't built mine yet but mahq lists it as 17.6 metres so the hg should be about 12.2cm, pretty much average hg height (average gundam is ~18m with hgs being 12.5cm)
Do I need that fancy gaianotes multiprimer for Abs plastic or can I just spray regular (lacquer) primer thinly? I don't wanna murder my kits bros.
>>20948165here you go friend.http://schizophonic9.com/re7/hg_d1.html>>20948245you can usually get away with lacquer directly on it so long as you don't drown the part in the stuff. i started using multiprimer recently tho (hobbymio's since the gaia one is impossible to get in the states) and it's nice having the extra peace of mind. it's also good for metal and polycaps.
>>20948248Thanks, >hobbymio'sIs that a chinese gaianotes copy? Know if there's a UK/EU distributor? The main reason I asked is cause it's so hard to fucking find any of this stuff.
>>20948268yeah hobbymio is a chinese brand making all sorts of stuff. i know there's a handful of distributors in the states but none of them had the stuff so i had to get it off of aliexpress.i can't truly compare it to gaia's multiprimer, but so far it does what bought it to do.

Has anyone used the paasche HSSB-22-16 spray booth before?
I have an amazon prime account I'm canceling soon so I searched gundam models for shits and giggles and holy shit these prices. What utter retard is going to pay 42 dollars for HG Kyrios?
>>20948289There are very select few kits which are good prices. I got the Xi for less than most other stores (i think even less than MSRP) with free shipping.
>>20948289Amazon is loaded with scalpers for shit that isnt even that hard to get. That said i did get my MG Strike Rouge Ootori for cheaper than most other places that sold it.
how does the HG Legend gundam compared to it's contemporary kits?
>>20948285I have the 30-16. It's loud kinda but when it's running I don't need a respirator.
>>20948335its an average old hg seed kit. So okay articulation, but god awful seams and a sculpt that no paint job will be able to save (not anime accurate/obari proportioned or okwara line art accurate). 1/100 is a much better choice if you want a legend gundam.
>>20948360Noted. Will look for that one then. And on the topic of seed 1/100s, is the Nix Providence also any good?
>>20948268>>20948271Does any primer bite on POM?
>>20948289They used to be normal prices, I look back at 2019 when I got a psycho gundam for £46 off of amazon as an era I never fully appreciated at the time.
>>20947318I don't want to be one.
Not mine, but I really dig this nice, clean paintjob.
>>20948411oh, meine orangenschale
>>20948411and I thought I was colorblind when it comes to picking out a decent paint scheme
>>20948411You are so fucking butthurt.

>>20948471Cmon, say it, I know you want to. Your favorite words, C______ C______
>>20948481>C C
>>20948370idk if you can say it 'bites' but the hobbymio stuff works fine on it
>>20948411you better not be r****tposting again...
>>20948448maybe those are meaningful colors for the builder
>>20948448It's not the color scheme, everyone gets it wrong. The palette here is just the regular primary triadic colors but with black instead of white. We already see this in the Psycho Gundam (minus blue). What's stupid here is the color placement, and it's VERY stupid. If anyone ever gets color scheme and color placement wrong again I will KILL THEM.
>>20948448I can dig it. Very bootlegcore.
Would anyone who has the HGUC Xi gundam say its worth the price? I'm kinda tempted but that price for an HG is kind of putting me off.
>>20948878Its big as fuck.
>>20948878i've got two, he's about sameish size as a typical mg while being alot more chunky. He also looks fairly unique for a 1/144 scale gundam, my only grip is the lack of proper closed fists and the joints tendency to loosen up very easily around the elbow and hips.
the closer I get to finishing my group build, the more retarded it looks. I need to study mecha design some day so I'm not just slapping on a bunch of triangular pieces together
>>20948892less is more, look at non gundam inspo to make something truly unique
I looked up the Might Gaine Minipla coming in October and HLJ is claiming the boxes are sealed, you need all three variants to actually make Might Gaine, and they're randomly packed? That's pretty fucked up if true.
>>20948914yes.just kidding, if you're buying one of these Japanese candy toy meme stuff, especially super minipla, you're getting the entire set
>>20948878>worth the priceI don't know, what price?
>>20948000Glad I cancelled my pre-order. She looks like more of the same generic shit with less cohesive colors.
>>20948933Like 70USD is what im seeing it go for on most sites i buy gunpla from>>20948885How bad are the stickers?
I want at least 2 barbatos mg swords but I don't want to buy 2 kits just for the weapon, especially since the only place I can find it is amazon. Looked up the barbatos fm weapons, could do something with the sword but again, I don't want to buy 2 kits just for weapon nor will I be able to anyway, next months is full on poorfaggotry. Any alternatives ?
>>20948962Recast the part
>>20948962find a website that sells parts and hope they have everything to make the sword
My boi just arrived
I suddenly got bombarded by Mortar Headd video on Youtube. I take this as a sign that Bandai is going to announce MG LED MIrage Ver Ka.
>>20948976I think they're going to announce a HG of it which is why Volks never made a 1/144 model
>>20948965How does that work for bigger parts ? All tutorials I find use small parts>>20948971>mechapartsguyFound this. Anybody ever used this site ?
My first gendum :)this thing is so fucking fiddly and loose in random places it's a pain in the ass to pose, are all master grades like this?
/m/ what is your favorite way to fix surface defects you notice after priming? what fillers do you like the best?
>>20949015I'm assuming that's the 3.0? nah that one is unique in that they tried to replicate the RG but bigger, most MGs have less parts
>>20949043CA glue for small imperfections like gouges and scratchesepoxy putty for big chunks and shit that needs re-sculpting (very rare, only happens with old ass 80s/90s GKs)
>>20949047based on the yaoi hands yeah that's mg 3.0
>>20949015Why is it so fucking dirty
>>20948892Just stick random plaplate bricks in random patterns with no rhyme or reason like one anon did. Everyone's sucking his dick.
>>20949015Nice work very elegant very minimal chipping welcome to the hobby don't believe in Early Real Grade Syndrome buy an Iwata Eclipse airbrush and Master TC40-T or TC30-T compressor don't fall for the Raser gimmick don't cheap out on scribers Godhands work but they aren't magic and you still need to sand everything flatly don't buy from scalpers paint with lacquers instead of acrylics use entry grades as practice learn pla plating and seam line removal remember thag there is no bad kit so buy whats appealing to you take pictures from lower angles and macro lenses remember to keep weathering sensible and practical have fun
>>20949068Because I smeared black paint over random edges with a brush
>>20949072christ, this looks bad
>>20948742All clown colors are the same. Yours are no different than his. You are delusional if you think otherwise, dumb secondary.
>>20949077Looks more like a dirty toy than a battle damaged robotNo offense but you ruined your first kit
>>20949087Next time, to avoid the toyish look, I'll spray random parts black and red and call it rx-78 nacht x predator.
>>20948934Compared to Acta, she's just Tiesha with extra's
>>20949087I like how it looks
>>20949064every rx-78 has yaoi hands, it's a feature of kunio's line art
>>20949093true enough, but mg 3.0 is the worst offender as far as kits go
When people said the MG F91 is the same size as an HG I thought it was hyperbole but it really is that fucking small.
>>20949124Now build the RG Crossbone Gundam, an absolute manlet
>>20949126Not him but I just ordered that because I thought it looked cool, how tall is it?
>>20949128
>>20949124My only MGs are the F91 and Sinanju and it's fucking hilarious to see them together
why didn't they just put a bit more time in and make moon gundam a RG kit instead of an over the top HG
>>20949141thank fuck they didn't, inner frames suck dick
>>20949165No. YOU suck dick. Come here, I'll show you.
>>20949170Okay~
>>20948985Yes, dude is both based and legit.
>>20949165it already has an inner frame you chimp, that's why im having a sook that they only half assed it making it a really high detail HG instead of going all out
>>20949124That's by design, mobile suits in late UC are more compact so as to be smaller, speedier targets. Beams generally kill most anything in one hit, so making your robot harder to hit helps improve its survivability.
>tried another go at airbrushing the tamiya LP metallics>thinned with tamiya lacquer thinner enough to spray nicely, several light coats on top of a half-decent gloss black, 15-20 ish PSI>they all end up quite flakey, though some look a bit better than the last timeThey all turned out a bit samey to the camera but the ones on the right do look quite a bit better than the ones on the left to the naked eye. I wonder if the rapid thinner that was mentioned in the last thread would help a lot. It does feel like nothing could save some of the ones to the left (sparkling silver, light gun metal) because they really look like glitter.
>>20949178same reason as Jag Doga: fuck you
>>20949192I'd argue saying it's lucking getting a re100, but I think that's one of the shit ones
>>20949194don't know if i'd call it lucky since the RE100 kit is kinda crap and more importantly we already had a MG Geara Doga by then. They could have used it's inner frame but noooo, that would make too much sense
>>20949195at least daban came in clutch and picked up bandai's slackif only they did the same with the other re100s
>>20949182Don't get me wrong, I know canonically it's a small suit I just didn't expect it to feel quite this small while I'm building it.
>>20949192Thighs aren't grey therefore not an inner frame
>>20949245it's fuller than the majority of partial inner frames
>>20949245by that logic rg zeong or crossbone don't have inner frames either since their respectively collar and crotch are not grey
>>20949072are they?only good thing this guy has done is the shovel (if that was even him). ERA tiles don't even look like that.
>>20949072>>20949079okay jealous paintlets, lets see your amazing work for the group build
among the fuckton of unicorn kits there is, which ones are the best bang for your buck?
>>20949311The RGs are good
>>20949311RGThe HGs are pretty shit and can't even transformThe MG is pretty much a brick"PG" and "bang for your buck" don't belong in the same sentence
>>20949284ERA bricks are usually flat and don't feature much going on the surface at all. Although those era bricks are a little oversized.
>>20949334they also are only applied to the frontal aspects of the crew compartment and ammo storage areas.
>>20949326What if i just want to keep it in unicorn mode? don't care for destroy mode but it looks neat in unicorn mode. Would have bought the hg but motherfuckers only put the beam magnum with the destroy mode.
>>20949313>>20949326RGs are everything I love RGs I love their branding though I love creative boxart I love their boxart uniformity I love their cute little inner frames I even love the pre-molded inner frames cause of the mold technology behind it I wish Bandai would shit out RGs and milk the hell out of it imagine a Real Grade Sumo, Turn X/A, Flat, Kampfer, Dom, GM haha the part separation would be so nice that'd be so nice
>>20949326>The HGs are pretty shit and can't even transformonly good thing about destroy-meme is the heels>>20949345>pre-molded inner framesgrandpa
>>20949341Highly depends on the context, russians like to shove ERA just about everywhere except the engine (for obvious reasons), while americans and brits like to keep it to the hull or skirts.
>>20949349they put zero ERA on the rear aspect. please find me a tank with ERA on the back of the turret.
I just finished building the Gouf MG 2.0, and wanted to ask. Is it common for the fingers for the MG 2.0 kits to get loose after building them? The middle finger on the right hand is rather loose, but all the other fingers stay in place until you move them
>>20949351ERA is never put in the back of the turret because that place is used for storage usually supplies+river crossing equipment. A zakus leg isn't going to be used for storage now is it? Not that I think there was any ERA on the back of that zakus leg.
>>20949356Although there are plenty of examples of makeshift Cage armour being placed on the back of the turret during the syrian civilian war. Cage armour wouldn't be a such a good idea on a mech though.
>>20949345haha yeah man RGs are pretty cool huhalright man i'm outta here, take it easy!
>>20949344The HG isn't very good in general, it's pretty loose
How powerful must your exhaust fan be to COMPLETELY filter out all the nasty lacquer fumes? My gf's 70 year old mother lives with us and we don't want to give her lung cancer
>>20949386Don't fall for the lacquer meme. Just use acrylics.
>>20949386>>20949391you need an exhaust fan/spray booth for acrylics too, otherwise the particles are just going to stay in the air
>>20949396Inhale them really hard with your nose. The particles are going to stick to your nose hair - that's their nature-intended purpose.
>>20949386If you're that worried, if possible, just build a seperate small cabin outside of your house (just make sure you're not in that room for a longer period of time). I'm lucky enough to have a small space on my backyard and did exactly that, now I treat that place just like my little workshop.
>>20949397enjoy your lung cancer
breathing in acrlyic paint every day will still leave your lungs in better condition than breathing average city air every day. if you don't go to cities, don't worry about your acrylic particles
>>20949413those acrylic particles are smaller than pollution fumes, stop forcing this "arcylics are le not bad" meme. you absolutely need a booth, if you want to kill your self sooner then go ahead
also microplastics will straight up reduce your sperm count and ruin your health long term

How are moderoid kits? Really like how this one looks
Does the HG GP02 MLRS come with an action base? I know the normal gp02 does and it also has space for the gp01 but MLRS looks cooler to me. Whether or not it comes with the action base will decide if i'm also gonna look for a gp01 full burnern rg.

>>20949495I haven't had any issues with them becoming loose. one thing you do have to keep in mind with vidar though is that those thrusters on the legs aren't super secure. My only gripe with the fm gundams is the lack of any sort of swing out or shoulder raise joint that most mgs and the hg ibo gundam frames have. Also c clips for the gundam frames side skirts are shit, don't pull them out for more than once or twice unless you want stress marks.
>>20949088Checked, now you must.
>>20949514>one thing you do have to keep in mind with vidar though is that those thrusters on the legs aren't super secure. Are they on a ball joint/swivel or do they peg in? Because if they peg in I can just glue em
>>20949537wide rectangle peg
>>20949015Nice job on showing restraint with the weathering, nice job. Got another kit lined up?
>>20949547I enjoyed building and working on this and GTO Char's Zaku II so much I ordered like 10 more kits of designs I liked in the shows right awayMaybe I went a bit overboard but as I understand if a kit you want (if it's not super popular like Nu or Unicorn) is available for close to MSRP you should buy it because there's no guarantee it'll get reprinted anytime soon
>hip peg snapped on groupbuild project>out of town for work and might not have timeaaaaa, fuck shitty 90's plastics, everything feels brittle and all the joints are tight af
>>20949353A lot of MG hands in general kinda suck honestly. Some anons dislike them, but I really like the fully articulated hands like on the Sazabi and Hi-nu ver ka, and I suppose you can say the RG zeong. They do sell replacement hands but there kinda pricey for what they are
>>20949424They're interesting since almost all their kits are notably different from each-other, owing to not really having a main license like Bandai or Koto. I've built three of theirs, Ingram, Dynazenon and Raijin-Oh. Only the last one ended up being kind of a pain and that was thanks to it being a combiner, and I'm most of the way through their Rayearth model which is pretty nicely designed. So there's a good chance that one will be worth getting I'd say.
>>20949424Buy what you like dude
>>20949570What kit?
>>209494951/100 Vidar was my very first Gunpla. I loved it back then but now I can see its obvious flaw - that its pretty much hand grenade, problematic to pose and easy to fall apart. But details are great and you can say that most problems are shared and comes from IBO designs themselves (lots of additional elements that looks cool but makes posing hard).

>>20949591>Nadesico artillery frame>Quick google searchDamn. He is a chunky boy. Also found a new mech anime to watch. Hope everything works out for you anon.
>>20949570I'm working on my Zaku 1 MG right now. >Gear for the monoeye>The two nubs are inside the teeth of the cogIt was a very different time for sure. Bandai improved remarkably in just a few years.
>>20949576Oh? Where do you find replacement hands for the Zeon suits like the Gouf 2.0?
>>20949566List them I'm curious

>>20949637Excellent taste. Mercurius (and Vayete I guess) is absolute patrician mentality, so is Gouf Custom. I can heartily recommend RG Sazabi, that thing is nuts.
Speaking of - WHERE THE HELL IS THE GODDAMN VIRGO BANDAI
>>20949653After Colony is only allowed 1 non-gundam non-tallgeese kit in five years
>>20949655We got the Leo and the Vayete Mercurius relatively close to each other didn't we ?
>>20949657which is why there will be no more till at least 2030. At least there's chance for Hydra Gundam in the meantime since G-Unit is getting love
>>20949637What are your thoughts on Correct Century kits
>>20949644I also wanted to get the Nu to go along with the Sazabi but for some reason it's insanely overpriced everywhere I look, costing more than the Nu VerKa sometimes.>>20949664I haven't watched the show yet but the Turn X looks very cool
>>20949664MG Turn X likes to do the splits if you move him.
>>20949664>correct century>kitshahahaha I want to curl up and die
>>20949674Hey man "kits" is a plural form which means more than one. Stop complaining.
gunpla is getting too expensive. thinking about moving to dubai to find a sugar mama.
>>20949698um......aren't the women there basically second class citizens
>>20949698You can be an oil princes slave and eat their shit and pee for loadsa money and sportscars
RG zz soon right? Maybe I should just get the hg and hg Qubeley too while I'm at it. Although I'm sure both with get rgs at some point.
I want to ask again before I place the order, any of you anons ever use two part apoxie sculpt to recreate joints? Would this be a bad idea as the joint is usually soft and as far as I can tell Apoxie dries pretty hard.
>>20949715maybe someone more experienced can get decent results out of it but every time I've made something it turns out brittle and delicate. it's better for stationary stuff
>>20949698poorfagsgas
>>20949733don't mind if I do *BRRRRAP*
>>20949731Specifically you used two part apoxie? I was pondering if I could use a resin but I genuinely wouldn't know which to look at to recreate the 'soft' rubber of a joint.>Enduro soft is one of the first results I get
>>20949734based
>>20949740you should try Kneadatite Blue/Yellow. It is by far the strongest and most durable epoxy putty I have ever used. just let it fully cure before you do anything
Can I do this with the HG or do I need to wait for the inevitable P-Bandai expansion set?
>>2094967622 years and only 3 "graded" kits
>go from a kit that barely fits together to one that fits perfectly>shorten a peg by a few millimeters because it's a habit by now>it makes it (almost) impossible to assembleI think it will just barely have an okay fit once painted but jesus fuck that scared me.
>>20949761What applications did you use it for? This little thing is what I am going to be cloning to replace. I haven't made the mold yet but I probably will do and see how it turns out.
>>20949769just lengthen the peg again
>>20949772used it to clone some warhammer minis because the price for 40k stuff is absolutely FUCKED
>>20949788I guess I am going to wait a bit more, maybe ask one more thread before ordering anything. Definitely there is a difference between cloning minis or static parts and joints. Just don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work for my application.
>>20949775What's the best way of doing that? Putting a drop off clear nail polish widened/lengthened it by maybe half a mm, which makes me less worried but it's not like I could rebuild a centimeter easily that way.
>>20949763What is this? Woundwort with some custom stuff?
>>20949793runner or polystyrene rods

never got frame arms before. Bought this guy on sale. How are they compared to HGs or MGs?
>>20949835Is it supposed to be a dinosaur?
>>20949861yes
>>20949835frame arms are shit
>>20949835I've only built a couple but they're okay. Not much color separation on the older ones, Baihu had a mostly new frame instead of reusing the same exact one so it was more interesting to build.
>>20949835if frame arms were gunpla kits, they would be bronze tier
It feels weird as fuck buying kits for chinkshit mobile gacha games ive never played but fuck some have really nice looking designs

>>20949835Any FA kit that is new or the RE1/RE2 of an older kit are good. The old ones (non RE versions) are pretty bad. That one in particular can also be combined with NSG-12α KOBOLD:RE2 to make a larger humanoid mech (pic rel). Just gotta keep in mind the usual Koto kit stuff like sanding tight pegs and you'll be fine.
>>20949923/toy/ has only one builder who bothers to paint. The other painter is a refugee from this thread who got butthurt over pandemic era of based posting by gradechad. Not that they produce any paintjobs that are remarkable, although >>20949944 he's a special kind of autist who seems to only want to airbrush and goes through the tedious hell of masking instead of washes + brushes.

>>20949015Looks good anon. Weathering looks great but I have to mention that you focused too much on edge chipping and not enough on filters/soot sponging/pigments to bring it all together. It does look really good for just having some black paint on those edges, but you really need to incorporate those other techniques I mentioned. Another thing I'll mention is to look into waterslides, you can easily see the sticker borders and waterslides have virtually zero borders with a topcoat applied afterwards. Other than that it looks great and you should pat yourself on the back for that being your first build.
shadingfag is from /toy/, what a shocking development.
>>20949386I'd just stick to acrylics or hand painting lacquer paints if you're worried about fumesyou need the right type of fan for lacquers, any old thing can cause a combustion I think the ideal is 250-300 cfm
