Thoughts on IBO mobile suits?
>>
Many people seem to hate the recurring waist sections of the designs, i love them personally.

Some good, some bad

I hate almost everything about this show outside of the mecha designs.
okada should be hung from a lamppost for wasting all those beautiful designs.

Absolutely beautiful. Ordered the HG kit immediately after seeing it. Top tier mobile suit and top tier Gunpla.

I love the variety of physical melee weapons.
>>
>>20848939
Most are bleh.
Bael looks like a cool suit tho.
>>
>mobile suits desing is standardized thanks to the introduction of mobile suits frames.
>allows suits to be easliy repaired and customized
>MS frames can be retroffited with drastically different equipment and armor, completely changing how suit behaves (Kimaris/Vidar)
>Cross compatibility even between different frames (Barbatos with Graze shoulder armor)
>even the frames themself can be modified to pilot's preferences (Giving Barbatos longers forearms to make fit Mika's aggresive combat style better)

Wow they really tried to encourage kitbashing didn't they?
>>
>>20848939
All are good except Ebikawa's Lego garbage. So about the usual standard quality for AU designs.
>>
>>20849503
Definitely one of the show's strengths. The katana being seen to be unimpressive and only used in, what, one episode? was also a nice swerve.
>>
>>20849503
Long mace chads where are you?

WHERE'S THE KIT!

The Vidar was so sexy and so underused
Most of the fights in IBO were also pretty badly animated, what a shame
>>
>>20848939
I hated almost all of them. Shit proportions, unstable waist section.

The Vidar was somewhat passable but that waist section was still awful.
>>
>>20848939
I don't like the high heels
>>
>>20849609
Neither do I but hight heels is something that a lot of mecha have these days (Unicorn in destroyer mode for example). I guess it's just a fad that will disappear offer time.
>>
Very hit or miss.
Kimaris for instance starts off ugly as sin and becomes absolutely gorgeous as both Vidar and Kimaris Vidar.
>>
I think most of them were pretty cool but I didn't like gusion rebake full city's scissors in particular.
>>
>>20848939
I hate the super-thin waists with exposed inner frame, with the exception of Bael, Kimaris Vidar and Asmodeus. They managet to make it work. Barbie Lupus Rex is also pretty good because the waist is much smaller and I generally have a thing for warped humanoid proportions in mecha.
>>
>>20849770
So the way the waist of the Gundam Frames are designed, it's rather hit or miss where it works?
>>
>>20849516
They needed a prototype suit with the super-advanced tech that was abandoned due to high cost.
>>20849770
>>20849816
We needed an ASW-G-00 Gundam Solomon with a fully-armored torso
>>
I honestly can’t remember what most of them look like outside of Barbatos and Vidar

that's my take on it at least. I generally have a somewhat unusual mecha taste so don't take it as the general opinion.

>We needed an ASW-G-00 Gundam Solomon with a fully-armored torso
that would be lit. i'd buy it in a heartbeat and give it the aesthetic of Solomon from Daemon X Machina.
>>
>>20848939
haven't seen most of them and I couldn't give less of a shit about the show but I love Gyobu unconditionally
>>
>>20849880
>>20849861
DESU, I could see an ASW-G-00 having a semi-armored waist

Like put -just- enough armor on the waist that it retains the IBO aesthetic but is still better protected compared to the rest of the PD suits

I think an IBO fan suit did something like what I'm thinking of

Early concept for Barbatos had actually quite a decent waist
I was still thin but it had no gaps at all.
>>
I really liked how the suits could last for centuries and still be salvagable and effect 200 years later and even the newer ones were still mostly the same thing just slightly more effective and streamlined, than everything but the bleeding edge stuff being obsolete after a few months.
>>
>>20849987
Yeah this onr
>>
>>20849991
That's true but here's how I was looking at it...

Like the Gundam Frame prototype had a torso like a cross between the regular Kimaris and the Halphas, enough armor to where the waist still feels 'exposed' but that's mainly only part of the hydraulics are showing, while the vital points on both ends of the Connection are better protected
