Common to many Transformers universes are The Thirteen, the first thirteen creations of the Transformers god, each embodying a quality that the Transformer race would later posses. One of The Thirteen is Onyx Prime, representing beast modes. He's a winged robocentaur, and his first art looked like this.In one of the stories featuring a version of The Thirteen, Onyx Prime returned to threaten the modern Transformer world. He was constantly drawn like his original art, always reared up on his hind legs. Initially everyone thought it was just the artist misinterpreting that art. It is kinda hard to see the front horse legs, after all.Turns out, no it was intentional. Onyx Prime was actually a time-displaced Shockwave, who had killed the actual Onyx Prime and he been wearing his carcass like a suit for millions of years. Shockwave couldn't use all four legs because he only had two himself.
