Is B-Fighter Kabuto generally thought to be mediocre? I gave it 7 eps, but so far the show has failed to grab and hold my attention. The suits are fantastic but everything else somehow feels lackluster. Megaranger did a far better job at the high school setting.

A lot of more recent toku movies set out to make itself cheesy and campy and it's just cringe instead. Hell, it's why Bima worked so well. They weren't trying to be a cheeseball show. They just had low production values but busted their ass to be legitimately despite them.High School just plain sucks to watch now, especially considering how charming and likable the first season was.

To me, this is made the most obvious in the new villains suits, who all look super toyetic (despite it not being a merchandise based show), with fabric choices that feel more like costumes than "real" things due to a combination of design and flaws in the construction. Even leaving aside the super bright color schemes, the new suits have the pupils too close together, some of them have gigantic heads, are no longer fitted to a single person but rather multiple stuntmen, etc etc.MAKO is by far the best of the new suits, and that speaks a lot because she was directly paid for by one of the sponsors to be the protagonist.

Anyone else seen Strada 5? I'm 9 eps into it and I am thoroughly enjoying it as a cheesy 70s spy series. It may not have kaijin, but it has plenty of vehicles and toku minutia.
