What makes the name of a robot memorable?
>>20406060Rule of cool.
How satisfying it is to shout.
>>20406094this, G just happens to be the coolest to shout in japanese https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/16234146/#q16234146
>>20406060Starting as a normal word and ending in tweaked modifiers. Mazinger, Getter, Goldran, ect.
>>20407710Giraffaizer.Giraffaizer G.Ultimate Giraffaizer.Giraffaizer Next.
>>20406060The naming process misy be so retarded
>>20406060One that sounds cool. Or one that sounds stupid. Or maybe both.
>>20407720You know, if you pronounce that as "gi ra faiz-er" then it actually sounds pretty cool.
“Overman King Gainer” always stood out to me as a particularly epic name
>>20406060the lines of coke snorted while thinking them up.
>>20406060Having at least one letter, one hyphen, one number.
>>20406060Unrelated but why is every mecha power green? Psycommu, getter rays, 00 particle things, ideons thing, spiral power It also starts with G
>>20406060G's are obviously very important, other than that go nuts
>>20411821because it looks great in space
>>20412214>muh coolFuck off retard, not every answer is because le cool
>>20412820so what's the answer then? and I didn't say cool you fucking retarded gorilla
>>20411821Green is a color associated with life and nature. So associating green energy with the mecha can make it more lively, and also symbol its more than mere machine. This definitely applies to getter machines, and Ideon. >>20412214I mean your not wrong, colors in the blue-green color range look great against black
>>20413216>Green is a color associated with life and nature. So associating green energy with the mecha can make it more lively, and also symbol its more than mere machine. This definitely applies to getter machines, and Ideon.I mean I guess you could make that association but I think it's just color theory. Getter, Gurren Lagann and Ideon all three are red and green looks great paired with it. That's pretty much it.
>>20412178つかめプライド つかめサクセス元気のGは 始まりのGGのレコンギスタGのレコンギスタ
>>20413227Red and green are contrasting colors so of course they would look good side by side. Also this contrast can play into showing that liveliness they're trying to portray in the machine, with red representing the machine and green the life inside. I mean that's really looking into it but it makes sense.
>>20406060I think there are 3 factors for a mecha to have a good name (goes for the shows or franchises in general)1. Simple wording, necessary for it to be marketable and translation. 2. Only 1-3 words used in the name. Any more and it becomes to complex to remember easily, and usually gets shortened some way. 3. Vocally in the name there's a sound that originates in the front of the mouth, such as c, d, m, or t. And the vowel of A or O comes right after.(this applies to English of course, I know the names are pronounced differently in Japan. But this is what makes names sound good in English at least.)Many franchises and shows have these 3 factors in their name. Such as Armored Core, Mobile Suit Gundam, Getter Robo, Mazinger, Armored Trooper VOTOMS, etc. And if could there are franchises that don't follow this trend or don't have all the factors, such as Muv-luv or Legendary Giant God Ideon
>>20413241>Red and green are contrasting colorsCan you post some scientific studies that proves this
>>20413346>>20413349fuck off retard
Trying singing it's name out loud. If it can carry a song then it's a good name.
>>20413369Is this the secret to Tomino's success? I mean a ton of his shows have OP sing the robots name
>>20406060The letter G
>>20413383In the old days, yeah.
>>20413369>>20406105By these metrics Ginguiser is a masterpiece.
You'd think A or T would be more popular considering the early shows (Astroganger, Tetsujin, Tetsuwan Atom, Danguard Ace, etc.)
