Anybody who has built the Alex 2.0 tell me what I did wrong? The wrists just twisted off after a simple turn or two. I know I assembled the part correct. Circled is the assembly step in question. I've glued them because it's all i can do for now but is there a way to repair them without out using a proxy to order new parts from bandai because I looked and it's kinda expensive to do so.

>>19394128Yeah, i've had one of the ball joints pop off as well. It's a great kit but christ I do not know what they were thinking with those joints. >>19394291>>19394299>>19394306Looks awesome! The bulk in the chest and waist really make it feel like a unit that was built to carry as much firepower as possible. Also what parts pack is that head from? I really like the look.

Here's your contest winner, anon.
>>19394318thanks! clusterfucky looking mechs are criminally underrated with a few exceptions. It is a fuckin crime that most of the AoZ kits are P-bandai only
>>19394344Sometimes I think AoZ goes too far. But or a line that everyone bragged about being cheap and with so many possibilities of customization, the results of the group build were kinda underwhelming, definitely expected more builds like yours.
>>19394337By "female figure" I was referring to the proportional type of figure, not the toy type of figure. As in you make the female figure using plamo parts you have lying around, not just slapping plamo parts onto a Barbie.
>>19394350I think a lot of the issue is how many parts packs you need to get cause each is so small, and the limited stock many places only had of them. plus i think most of the entries in there look like they put the main emphasis on quality of the build as opposed to "how many fucking parts can I stick together onto one mech without it getting to heavy and falling apart" which is what I have been doing

BBTS or USAgundamstore? I want to order a kit that only these two sites have but I never used eiter. I live in NY so i think theyre both close by.
>>19394407BBTS has 4$ shipping which is probably better if you're only buying one thing.
>>19394415Does the shipping normally have tracking?
>>19394407Ive had a few issues with USA, and ive read so have others. BBTS is gonna be where i go for my next kit... Or anyone that gets the MG Sazabi in stock finally
>>19394451Not sure, I don't use BBTS, I've only used USAGS which has FedEx tracking.
well, after studying the figure a lil, ive conclude that this will be hard as fuck to pull off and I will really be pushing my skills while almost the rest of you will just do a custom, paint job
>>19394471Could always sub in some 1/100 pieces.
>>19394471Challenging is what gets the credit.
>>19394471that's right, you're gonna put in so much work and be better than those plebians that only do a different paint job
>>19394471You won't be alone. I'm intending on bashing this and a unicorn together but the proportions are going to be sketchy. So I'm probably going to mix in SD parts to accomodate the chest/headgear. But the challenge will be worth it. I think everyone who participates will probably learn a lot if they dont do the bare minimum.
>>19394505My biggest issue is that I want to make an MS have more feminine proportions, but I don't have a lot of parts on me.
>>19394508I see, well depending on where you want your proportions I would follow the old ms girls as a guide. In this case rounding out the flouros legs and using the seperation as stockings, the chest piece can be cut into halves that can be positioned above and under the bust. There are ways you can emphasize parts you already have, but its def something I would suggest sketching out if you have the time or will to do so.
Why didn't you recreate this for the last group build anons?
>>19394540Not the Flauros anon, thought I'd just pitch in on my two cents. I'm planning on using a GN-X as a base.
>>19394544No one is that creative

>>19394556stop using bionicle as an insult, faggot
rough wip, that will be enough work for tonight
I want it but damn little pricey for dragon wings
>>19394547Ah ok, that is a tough one then. I looked at it on dalong and got a couple ideas of where to start. I would probably shorten the knee covers by half or maybe take it completely off and leave the rest of the thigh piece, and then smooth out the edges on the whole leg for a little more roundness. You got a good midsection on the kit, and the skirt/binders can be cut/sanded to make it more visible. It also looks like the parts in pic related can be removed which will help slim the figure here too, and the chest binders can be widened to maybe cover some space if too much is exposed. These are just what I would do though.
>>19394598suck my chapati, bitch boy
>>19394617Sounds like a good start. I've also got spare parts from my Gernsback that might be applicable here, appreciate the lookout.
>>19394616is this p-bandai?
>>19394616I'm in the same boat. I want this but 25 bucks for an expansion? Jesus that's I think only 5 less than what I paid for the kit. I think that MG expansion is pretty good looking but I don't have a Nataku. I was thinking of getting it and trying to put it on the Supernova
>>19394620Yup>>19394628Currently building altron mg so I’m more inclined to get the wings cause they look fucking great but I don’t have a death scythe or TG2 mg. So I’m so spending $40+ on one set
What's a good paint stripper for citadel acrylics? I hand-painted these a while ago and really want to re-do them. The right isn't going to be my submission but the theme reminded me I abandoned her a couple years back when I moved.
>>19394668iso alcohol works just fine.
>>19394671Awesome, I assume 90% is good?
>>19394690aye, be sure to let the parts bathe in the alcohol for a while and hit them with a toothbrush. also wear gloves so you don't poison yourself.
>>19394694Isopropanol is only toxic if ingested.
>>19394668Try soaking overnight in iso alcohol or windex. If all else fails purple power strips any paint without hurting plastic but you gotta wear gloves when scrubbing it off the parts.

What are your thoughts on jabman ? He's one of the few good reviewers and actually has experience compare to megagayketsu
>>19395234He's alright but his production holds him back
Well, today was fun in sorting out bullshit I shouldn't have to.So back in December, I pre-ordered the GM Sniper Custom with the missile pods, I found it for around 60-70 AUD including shipping and like... yeah sure I think that's fine. Little did I fucking know the shit I'd be dealing with.Turns out the Seller listed a shipping method that isn't available due to the Coof, and didn't bother to update their pricing structure to reflect that, or bring it up when I first purchased it. So I get a message telling me I need to pay extra for shipping, after I paid already. 15 USD or around $18 or $35 UD for FedEx, which is no. So I go to Ebay, ensure I don't have to pay anything, and tell this guy no.Now starts a quest, where I ask if they can do Air Small Packet, because Amiami does it, HLJ does it, but they're convinced they can't do it through Japanpost, which says "Yeah you can."This goes on for a couple hours, until I just fucking start looking for a place I can get it cheap, found TheHangerBay Found it for cheap, decided to throw in some other kits I wanted to get some decent value from this, told the fucker to give me my money back.So don't buy from KuramaToys on Ebay, they are shit. Don't know about their actual store. Actually checking their actual store the 'great price' I got, was $10 more than what it was on their store. Which is still offering shipping they can't fulfill. So yeah, fuck these guys.
>>19395365Yeah fuck ebay in general. I don't want to deal with people. Beep boop free shipping, thanks.

I need a model kit with BIG wheelsWas thinking about getting one of these but the proportions are weird. I need the wheel to be big in comparison to the girl so it looks like she can actually ride the mecha with the wheel feetAre the hand scale models still compatible with regular 3mm pegs/holes or are they too small?
>>19395799If you want bigger wheels Gigantic Arms Rapid Raider or the Frame Arms Second Jive/Wilbur Nine. And Hand scales use 2mm joints.
>>19395683Oh, so I guess he wouldn't like, for example, Marchosias or Gusion Rebake because they require lots of detail painting to shine?Honestly, I don't understand how any kit would get high "tier" in such case - they are all plastic models, of course they require delicate handling. And nearly all kits benefits from detailing or panel lining, except maybe selected MG or PG.
Well got a confirmation from Mandarake on a Jinrai this morning, so I'll be building a FAG for the first time for this groupbuild. Got a bit ass-fucked with DHL costing like $10 more than the kit itself, but I think it sorta evens out since I managed to snag the version that comes with the flesh append limbs, and that's going for like $90-100 on ebay right now. Plus I managed to snag some Magic cards for roughly $6 that would've cost me like $25-30 to get english copies of them, so I suppose that evens out the price enough for my tastes. Also anyone know a good place to get blank FAG faces?

How are you guys deciding what to do, I cant ;_;
>>19396207I've never joined a groupbuild before and it seems like I'll probably not join this one as well. But if I were to do so, I'd probably just get a figure rise bust (available here for 7usd) and do something with one just for kicks.
>>19396207Check dalong or other sits with gunpla reviews. Look for cool design. check review to see if it's shit or not. acquire design you like. Did a big complex overengineered nightmare last time? Grab a more simple grunt suit to have a relaxed build. Hell if you're gonna work on some skills you've never used before? Snag a SD/CS kit cheap and do your experimenting on that. Maybe you'll make something neat to put on the thread
>>19394100So if I have a mobile doll already built (not for a groupbuild) how much of that can I reuse? It would be the torso only, with new parts for the limbs and head, with armor added around the chest, shoulders, and hips. I'd say about 2/3 to 3/4 of the finished product would be "new".I could always repaint the torso, but I got it so nice the first time it'd be annoying to just re-paint and re-shade it the same colors.
>>19396207I'm looking up images of what other people have done with their FAGs, MDs, figurise, etc in order to get inspiration and steal ideas. Preferably things I can do with the kits and parts I have on hand.
this is gonna be hard, painting different eyes on a frame arms girls
>>19396258Why not just use the waterslides they come with? There are a bunch of cheap aftermarket ones as well.
>>19396267I don't got any red eyes decals and I do not want to order something from Japan as it will take a long ass time to reach here, nothing else I want to get currently, so ordering a single sheet of eye decals with the cheapest shipping will probably take 3 months to get here. It's going to be very challenging but learning to hand paint eyes like this is good practice
how the fuck im supposed to turn a mobile suit chest into pair of honkers
>>19396287I wish you the best of luck then. My only advice would be to invest in a tiny brush and look up tutorials on how to paint them as there are a surprising amount out there.
>>19396288Use a MS with naturally outward jutting upper torso. The unified boob is valid. Worked for Dot Matrix, can work for your gunpla.
>>19396207I always liked the Jinrai the most out of all the FAGs released so far, so that was an easy choice as to what to do. The idea I'm currently running with is to paint it greyscale similar to the Frame Arms Jinrai so I can use some Digi-Camo waterslides I bought a while back on it, then build a custom rifle and maybe a scarf. >>19396253You can use any kit that you've got already so long as it hasn't been part of a prior groupbuild.
>>19396253I mean as long as it fits the theme you should be good to go

>>19399309>>19399325The longer I look at the left, the more my fight or flight instincts start to kick in
>>19399325>>19399330Well I was the ork poster, so I'll paint it green for starters. I dunno, maybe I can just stick ork bits on it to cover it.
I regret buying this kit for the groupbuild
>>19399448Because you want to keep it as is? Because you want to hot glue it? Or because it's shit?
I want to sculpt some custom jets and beams effect not necessarily have to be with transparent material just something preferably light and easy to paint. any advice on where should I start? No hot glues please
>>19399457Because it is bad oob- it will take way more work than I expected to make it good and versatile. However it will be a wild ride/skill check
>>19399473Yeah dude, I can tell my entry is going to be an abomination of glued parts in the end that probably can't articulate any more.
>>19399404What be this?
>>19399060>>19399085To be honest, not every package gets taxed. It's both random and related to size and type (plastic models are not prime material for customs as opposed to electronics). However, Polish government plans to tax EVERY PACKAGE since June, so God knows what will happen. In worst case scenario, it will completely paralyze shipping (since everything will require being opened and checked and calculated) or require using "middle men" importing to Germany or Czech Rep and shipping from here.
>>19399485Gene from pso2
>>19399485No idea, was just going through Dalong looking at pictures.
Now I understand why a lot of you hate Advanced MS Joint. Now how do you paint this without making them brittle? Most of this is ABS by the way.
>>19399470Evergreen makes clear plastic styrene sheets in a number of colors and thickness. That's the easiest route. You could also make some molds and use UV clear resin to make small clear parts.
>>19399522>he doesnt clean up the invisible nubsdisgusting
>>19399557Lol it's just the early snapfit test to see which ones would be exposed etcI do cleanup later with proper surface prep before painting, don't worry anon. Now how do you paint all of that?
>>19399522If I remember correctly not all of them are abs right? Only paint the parts that would be exposed later on, if you're still scared, just coat it properly with primer, let it fully cure, and spray lightly
>>19399495>Polish government plans to tax EVERY PACKAGEWelcome to Sweden 2 years ago. Post system got overrun by cheap shit from wish etc and now everything gets taxed no matter how small it is.
>>19399476Don’t glue parts, use 3mm connections if possible
>>19399155Is this a computer generated model of a stroke?
>>19399617>>19399495Welcome to the UK
>>19399617This is a good thing. Chinkshit only winds up lowering the quality of purchased goods for everyone. If people would stop buying chinese garbage this would never have been an issue.
>>19399617>>19399755I can live up with tax, I don't want to wait few months for package while duty office work 24/7 to check every single package because somebody want to scam every single penny from citizens.
It keeps growing.
Time to decide on colors
>>19394103may have gone overboard on lining the GM but it feels nice and fun. i really have to prime that head (slacking because gonna have to mask the visor).
>>19399946You should have probably used a shade of brown or grey instead of black.
Rg sinanju Stein when
>>19399965I was thinking had to go really dark to make the lines stand out because they're just lines on a flat surface. might semi shade them when I clean them up/thin them. So I'll probably cut them with white/grey to fake highlighted edges.
>>19399995Existing HG Stein is already pretty detailed, it's almost like mini RG. No need to make specific RG especially since now they don't have inner frame anyway. Or they actually do, can't recall, latest RG I did was Tallgeese.
>>19399831Damn anon, thats a lot of spoons. I can see the darker blue on the left looking good though, ive noticed I usually go for darker shades if im doing a custom paint job. Working on a shiny ass gun metal HG Jesta right now however. Keep us updated, il post mine soon
>>19394100Fuck it, let GO!Had an idea for a mecha musume custom in the back of my head for years, now is finally the time boys. Finally have the excuse to pick up that asra archers after all this time!
Anyone have any advice or tips on cutting stickers down I'm building the rx-78-01 north american type and all the the white stickers on the back of the head in particular look like ass but they're all so fucking tiny I have no idea about how to go about trimming them down without fucking them up.Thankfully the orange ones arent that bad which is mostly what I'm concerned about but still would like to use some of the smaller detail stickers.
>>19400143unironically buy aftermarket decals for it, those stickers on origin kits look like ass
>>19400150Yeah i had a feeling that would be the solution. Most of them are just so fucking tiny there is no way for my chimp hands to even begin and get some of the excess off.
I have really stooped lo in life, spent hours working on this ass>>19400177oh, you are just struggling with small stickers? I skimmed your post. dont tell us you are using you fingers anon, get fine tip tweezers
>>19400181I have been using tweezers. I'll have to find my finner tip ones. That said I may just pick up aftermarket decals anyways.
So I have a neo trn2. When I brush with it am I supposed to have the lid on the paint container or am I supposed to leave it off when spraying? I've been leaving it on and had pretty poor consistency with the brush. Total noob.
>>19400201the lid is optional, you only really have to use it if you fill up the entire cup
>>19400201The lid shouldn't affect your consistency, you're probably not thinning your paint enough, not using the right thinner, or need to adjust your psi. without knowing what your blowing i cant make a clear call.
>>19400209ok as long as the lid should not be a factor I will play with the other stuff. Thanks.
>>19400212lacquers spray nicely at 15-20 psi and milky thin.acrylics depends on the brand. vallejo cant be sprayed in a brush that has had lacquer thinner in it without a thorough wash with water as it reacts poorly and will clog your brush. Tamyia acrylics on the other hand thins nicely with mr color lacquer thinner.
>>19400186goddamn anon going hard
>>19400251just wait til you see what I have planned ;)
>>19400181There is no shame in showing devotion to the booty.
>>19398394Maybe>NO FRAME ARM GIRLSI'm a fag myself so it wouldn't do for me to be seen owning that w/o context lol
>>19400291How many times you plan to post this one?
>>19400314>I'm a fag myselfNice man. Do you have a tight poop cutter?
>>19400069Whenever I prime I just add a few spoons into the mix. And I've been on a real light, saturated colors kick, but will need to mix things up soon.
>>19400314actually probably one of the few people who could own it without raising too many eyebrows. "it's ironic, haha!"
okay, i just built the RG johnny ridden zaku II. I like it, but it is a little too bulky for my liking. i see the RG char's zaku II on hobbylink for like 30 bucks. do i take the plunge and do another RG zaku so close together?
>>19400181>>19400186Now this is dedication
>>19400186What's the black putty you're using? Is that Milliput?
Please make new thread, New Thread Guy!
>>19400482Maybe it's CA glue?
>>19400492>>19400482its madworks CA black, it has a rubber based filler additive so it fills in things better. I noticed alot of those trendy highly skilled jap youtubers use cyananon which is CA with filler so I thought id start using it too in conjunction with ca accelerator, its great for scratch building, why wait hours to let putty or regular cement dry when you can do it in seconds afterall
>>19400500That's what I figured - what CA accelerator do you use?
>>19400503the BSI stuff, its common where I am but to my understanding all CA accelerator is more or less the same, I know tamiya sells it
