*Runs out of ammo and becomes worthless in your path*
>>19390471I recognize that fighting style!
where do the ammo for those gattlings even come from? theres just too little space on those guns and in the chest
>>19390485This is my problem with heavyarms as well but apparently its not ballistic but beam gatling.
>>19390485beam powered! but some cases, it uses physical ammunition
>>19390490>>19390492I thought the chest cannons were ballistic and the arm cannons were beams.
>>19390512I don't remember but I assume there's enough animation irregularities that they equally both simultaneously
>>19390512>>19390528it's strange seeing you two namefags show up and reply to each other in a thread, pretty cute
>>19390533ehh, it's not that rare for me to interact with goku
>>19390471WAHHHHH no melee spam
>Forgetting spin2win
Get those arm grappler things and replace 'em with more miniguns
Good thing he kills everything before that happens.
Didn't it have only a mini pocket knife for defense?
>>19393591>miniIt's like 12ft long
>>19393604That poor Aeries... why is Aeries such a cool looking suit yet it jobs so much?
>>19390485Don't ask about ammo counts and physical space in Gundam, it never makes sense>120 mm machine gun>muzzle is well over 120 mm>drum magazine wouldn't be big enough for more than maybe 15-20 rounds of something akin to the M829A4 round used in the M1 Abrams family>frequently see Zakus magdump without reloading well past 20 rounds
>>19393632I doubt it's full size 120mm. That's why it's a "machine gun" and not a cannon.
>>19393641The Zaku machine gun is frequently referred to as being 120mm in caliber. Why it's referred to as a "machine gun" and not a "machine cannon" is a different conversation regarding how badly an anime studio and toy company botch weapon jargon and the semantics of what makes a "cannon" and what makes a "gun". Point is the Zaku machine gun's magazine cannot physically store a large amount of ammo in any configuration in proportion to the size of the muzzle of the gun.
>>19390471Gun-Damn, Son!
>>19390471>SRW>Can use up all it's ammo...... multiple times
Gatlings are such a meme
>>19393641Its the size of the bore that determines if something is a cannon or not. Anything from 20mm and up is a cannon. And if they had less powder than whats currently in the type of shells modern tanks use then their range is completely fucked.
>>19393632>muzzle is well over 120 mmThe 120mm Zaku Machine Gun is not an M1 Abrams tank barrel. It's much thicker. The Zaku machine Gun has been heavily reinforced to allow it to repeatedly 120mm rounds like an automatic machine gun. An M1 cannot do that. For that photo you posted, I will say the gun barrel is somewhat exaggerated due to the angle, and artist drawing it overly big. But the point still stands.>drum magazine wouldn't be big enough for more than maybe 15-20 rounds of something akin to the M829A4 round used in the M1 Abrams familyYou are way off on this. The 120mm Zaku Machine Gun holds well over 100 rounds per mag. Some sources even claim its 300+ rounds.>>19393652>Point is the Zaku machine gun's magazine cannot physically store a large amount of ammo in any configuration in proportion to the size of the muzzle of the gun.Incorrect
>>19394904The show claiming a certain number is one thing, but whether or not it's accurate or realistic or not is another thing altogether. Mark Simmons notes that the bore of the Zaku machine gun's lineart suggests a larger shell than just 120mm, for example. Same goes for the various bazookas which range from 280mm to 880mm but obviously the 880mm Dom Raketen bazooka doesn't have a bore over three times the size of the Zaku's 280mm bazooka.
>>19394955I think you and Mark are forgetting that the projectile itself doesn't need to be 120mm. Only the casing surrounding it. You even mention the M829A4 round used in the Abrams. You should know this is entirely possible for the Zaku to use a similar type of ammunition.
>>19393609Had the misfortune of being one of OZ's starters in Wing.
>>19394989But the bore on the Zaku's 120mm machine gun seems to be -larger- than 120mm.A case in point is that the bazooka sizes of 280mm for the Zaku and 380mm for the Gundam were probably originally specified as such to match battleship cannon bore sizes.. 280mm happens to be 11 inches and 380mm is 15 inches, which were common sizes for battleship main guns. The bazooka's bore and rounds in the animation are nothing like that though. They definitely aren't using sabots for the bazooka rounds. There's even this model sheet that measures the bazooka round as being 70cm by 320cm.
>>19395195Not that anon, but I wouldn't use the OG Gundam as reference with its jank animation all around.
>>19395195>But the bore on the Zaku's 120mm machine gun seems to be -larger- than 120mm.Then the casing is whatever size the barrel is. And the projectile (after the round is fire) is 120mm.
>>19395201It's not like the size of bazookas have changed in newer animation. This is still a 360mm bazooka.
>>19393609Its armor is thinner and lighter than even the Leo (the basic bitch grunt unit) to allow it to fly in atmospheric conditions, and even then it ends up even heavier. A standard fighter jet or a jet pack Leo would be more effective
>>19390473>who's piloting the Heavyarms?>empties entire stockpile of ammo in the vague direction of the enemy>Oh, it's Trowa.
>>19390485They're "beam gatlings" but in EW they spit out shell casings
>>19395698EW version has physical rounds.
