What actually caused sci-fi to completely fade away from 2D? Everything that isn't based on real life is just fantasy or fantasy isekai now.

>>19406217Both the anime and the novels are good; been going through the J-Novel Club translations as of late. Anime despite the varying lengths of the entries faithfully captures the tone of the novels and most of the plot points; I was surprised to find how well the 3 volume Crest was adapted into just 13 episodes while the first 2 Banner volumes got at least 10 episodes each. Haven't gotten to the 3rd Banner volume but I imagine there's a lot more skipped here since this only got 2 OVAs.
