Starting things off with some lovely Mirrorman mook pages from https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%A8%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%86%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%83%A1%E3%83%B3%E3%83%88%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AB%E3%82%A4%E3%83%96-%E3%83%9F%E3%83%A9%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3-NEKO-MOOK-%E4%B8%AD%E6%9D%91/dp/4777024180

If you haven't yet checked out the rather unique experience that is Azteckaiser, I heartily suggest that you do.
While on the topic of Mirrorman,8 years ago, sometime around 2012-2013, this was uploaded to Dailymotion.https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xt6xcjAn M&E (music & effects, a dubbing track in other words) of Mirrorman's first episode.I was able to ask the uploader where he got it from, & all he said was an R2 DVD release, I didn't get anything from asking for further details. There are only 2 possible DVD releases he could've sourced this from, one was released across 2005-2006 by a company called VAP, & the other across 2011-2012 by Toei Video.Does anybody have either of those DVDs to invesigate if there are more M&E episodes besides the first one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5xeXwPvfKcYou've heard of Ultra Fight? Well, here's Mirror Fight!
Does anyone know the difference between the different Mechanical Violator Hakaider books (I think there might be 3 or so)? I got this one, and I'd like to know if it's worth getting the rest.
>>19258589I did. It was meh.
Just wanted to thank you lads for recommending Garo to me. Finished the first series recently and I loved it, looking forward to the rest
>>19258764Let's get this posted early.
>>19258636There was also a 1973/74 mirror fight show as well
https://kitsunekko.net/dirlist.php?dir=subtitles%2Fjapanese%2FThis place has complete Japanese scripts for,Akumaizer 3, Choujin Bibyun, Kyodyne, Exceedraft, & Janperson WHY ARE SUBBERS SLEEPING ON THIS?!
>>19258929A few different groups have tried subbing Akumaizer 3. RiderTime had the first 14 retranslated a year ago, possibly more by now.Are there even Choujin Bibyun raws? One group subbed first episode, I only see the first 2 episodes on TWW even.Big Nova dropped Kyodyne half way 2 years ago.Exceedraft and Janperson are in the process of being subbed by actual groups. It's mostly your continued ignorance.
>>19258663Soul.
>>19258955OK my apologies, all of those check out except for the Akumaizer subs,I can't find them anywhere, & certainly not by Rider Time.
>>19258984RitderTime never released the translated episodes, timing that would be a good use of someone's time, if RT shares the scripts.
>>19258523I'm sure it's from Ultra Tokusatsu Mook which covers many TsuPro's toku (Ultra and non-Ultra), not just because of the anniversary.
>>19258636Mirror Knight' sitting pose is a meme there huh
>>19258987Last I saw they were looking for QCers and that was nearly a year ago. I guess the fansub ninjas got them.
>>19258589I wish it was fully subtitled.
>>19258473still pissed that there are no good subs for this, Jumborg Ace, and Fireman
>>19259602Roughly how functional are TOKU's subs? Also, Jumborg Ace has subs from a Malaysian DVD that are like, not professional quality AT ALL, they're very clearly double translated, but they're like, JUST comprehensible enough to basically function???
>>19259605Yes I know it's ironic for me to talk about subs being double translated.
>>19259605They’re pretty bad. Sometimes they’re ARR tier.
Garo will never be good again
>>19259676Oh dear, & they're the only way to watch Cosmos & Joneus until Mill Creek does them?Assuming Mill Creek does at some point do Joneus?
>>19259684It sucks, but hopefully if Mill Creek’s releases are strong they’ll start branching into other Tsuburaya properties and get proper subs of Mirrorman, Joneus, and Gridman.
>>19259681>Implying Garo was ever good
>>19259720>implying the Kouga/Rei/Raiga stuff wasn't good
>>19259718Gridman is a shoo in apparently. It was mentioned they have it but who knows when it's happening.
>>19258929>WHY ARE SUBBERS SLEEPING ON THIS?!I mean, I'm 90+% sure Big Nova was working from kitsunekko - tokugami only did shows with captions on there when working solo (not with Metallic or enlisting the LovexCare TL for Izumi), and I saw that he was previously asking about Barom 1 captions on some forum (maybe D-Addicts?)
>>19259681It haven't been good since Goldstorm, as much as I enjoy Jinga as a character, it was the start of the downfall. Yes, I even count Zero Dragon Blood as not that good.
>>19259681Where did it go wrong, in your opinion?
>>19258473why does reflex look like an angry muppet
>>19258929Is there anything on there that isn't actually being worked on already?
Does anyone happen to have raws for Dragonet lurking? I had them a decade ago, but sadly now I've gotten into it all torrents are dead and, whilst the Youku uploads (Only place I've found it) are watchable, I'd rather not. Any help would be heartily appreciated!

Are you all sure that Akumaizer is being worked on?Because I might just not be looking hard enough, but I'm not finding any evidence to suggest any formal attempt at a sub since the first 10 episodes being from 2013-2015.
>>19260835Did you contact RiderTime or are you just going to act like someone didn't tell you what to do already?
>>19260837They appear to have been dead since Febuary of 2020, but sure I'll give it a shot.
The first season of GARO is streaming on YouTube with English subs,Only the first 2 episodes are up right now, but the playlist has up to 7 videos, the rest of which are all private videos. The uploads of the first 2 episodes were originally from October, but the English subs were announced on Christmas eve.So, do they intend to upload the rest of the season or?
>>19260955They cycled through them all without subbed, and then just left the first 2 episodes up the entire time. Then just hide the 2 episodes from last week, when putting up the next two.Obviously they never deleted the episodes from their youtube page, and just hide them. Then once they got through the last episodes of the season, they added English subs to episode 1 and 2.Last week they added "Beast of the Midnight Sun".Gotta give them time, probably this week will be s1e3&4 English.
>>19260620It's kinda downer ending, right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVgm5Yuv7TYTTWO posted that episode of Poitrine with the Kamen Rider parody.
>>19258596Is there anyone who can investigate this?
>>19261473Poitrine would have been one of my favorite shows in 1990.
Where can I get a decent torrent of Red Baron?I have the DVD, but I'm trying to upload the series to Internet Archive. The only torrent of the DVDs I found it several hundred megabytes an episode at only 1 seeder.
>>19261669>I have the DVDTry ripping it with Handbrake.
>>19262204Was gonna try that if I didn’t have any better options, which it seems I don’t.
>>19261473Cute episode, thanks for flagging it up, anon! Some nicely-framed shots, too. The TOEI channel really cemented for me the fact that comfy 70's-2000s Japan settings are a big part of why I ended up a toku fan - not just the actual "special filming" itself.Anyway, I see a Skyrider helmet (with attached nonsense) and belt, mashed up with a Super-1 chest - fun times!
>>19261669>The only torrent of the DVDs I found it several hundred megabytes an episode at only 1 seeder. That's your only option short of ripping it yourself. Let me know if you haven't managed to snag it in a few days if you do try to download it - I've got it lurking on a stick somewhere.
A real shame that this never got further than a trailer.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzYIy0wkviY

>>19262376Funnily enough I watched it again yesterday and thought the same thing. Looks like it could’ve been a great show.
>>19260566it's ok we're all filth
Yo. Is there a cheat sheet of all the must see non-Jap toku? I saw Legend Hero and Giant Savior (the two big ones apparently) and was just about to check out Armor Hero but I wanna keep expanding that horizon ya know?
>>19263069Metal Kaiser and Pulgasari are two things that spring to mind as, not only are they enjoyable in their own right, but the stories behind them are both somewhat fascinating.Metal Kaiser:https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%BA%94%E9%BE%99%E5%A5%87%E5%89%91%E5%A3%ABhttps://raretokusatsu.wordpress.com/2019/05/31/10-bit-x264-blue-dragon-swordsman-metal-kaiser-lost-chinese-tokusatsu/Pulgasari:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulgasarihttps://archive.org/details/pulgasari1985northkoreanversionAlso, I recommend Ryujin Mabuyer, a local hero production rooted in Okinawan culture, which is quite different to that of mainland Honshu, and a pretty cool low-budget-Phase-1-Rider-meets-Wilfred kind of show.https://nyaa.si/view/1109202
>>19263039Hahaha, mah man!>>19262986Yeah, the untransformed girl supporting the team casting spells in particular struck me as a potentially interesting and fresh dynamic. I can take or leave Korea's penchant for CG mecha in live action shows but, then again, the suitmation mecha scenes in Legend Hero were kinda the weakest part of the show.>>19262970I really hope the whole Fushigi Comedy Series, plus stuff like Medaman, Majou Sensei and the 'Tacks, gets more attention now that so many of the traditional transforming hero shows are subbed. I still live and breathe that henshin shit, but it turns out that a lot of these other TOEI shows are absolute gems.
>>19262860Great stuff! I really need to catch up. Is that you, by the way, Azurillkirby?
Handbrake can’t get past the copy protection despite me doing the specific thing I was instructed to do to get past the copy protection.
>>19262321Meanwhile the Super 1 costume shows up in Robot Hacchan minus the chest piece, ironically. Then he fights Superman, Tarzan,Tiger Mask and others in a big crazy brawl at the end. The whole thing is just glorious. Check out, it's episode 28 on Toei Channel.
>>19263384>Check out, it's episode 28 on Toei ChannelWill do - really enjoyed the two subbed eps of that show, thanks friend!
>>19263368Nevermind I figured it out, ripping my Red Baron DVD now, so I can then convert it to mp4 so I can upload it streaming on Internet Archive.Btw I also uploaded all of Bima's first season there, including the special that links the 2 seasons.https://archive.org/details/bima2013And the second season itself is streaming here,https://tukoz.com/satria-garuda-bima-x.htmlSo now all of Bima is streamable.I also made Kikaider & Kamen Rider Kabuto's dub streamable.
>>19263069Guyver 2: Dark Hero is pretty good and stars Solid Snake andTurbo Kid which is fucking awesome.
>>19263420>Turbo KidI've put off watching that for too long - the trailer looked great fun, and the OST is ballin'
>>19263318>I really hope the whole Fushigi Comedy Series, plus stuff like Medaman, Majou Sensei and the 'Tacks, gets more attention now that so many of the traditional transforming hero shows are subbed. I still live and breathe that henshin shit, but it turns out that a lot of these other TOEI shows are absolute gems.Yeah, it's tough to beat the henshin heroes toku, but the stuff getting put on TTW is classic toku that shouldn't be forgotten. I really hope it leads to more subs.
dorkly where you at
>>19259684Mill Creek confirmed that they have rights to Joneus; we just gotta keep buying what they put out to make it worth their while.
Ever wanted to watch Red Baron but don't have the DVD?I'm uploading the series on the Internet Archive right here.https://archive.org/details/superrobotredbaronMore episodes will be added as they're ripped.
Is Kikaider worth watching?
>>19264768I enjoyed it about ten years ago on vhs
>>19264768It's very repetitive. But try it if you liked the anime or t he manga.
>>19263433Turbo Kid is a lot of fun plus it's got Michel Ironside in it.>>19263921The clamshell Ultra sets are really nice but don't buy the steelbooks as they do that stupid disk stacking thing.
>>19264768I got it streaming here.https://archive.org/details/kikaida
>>19264768I love it, but it is one of the most repetitive shows Toei did in the Toku boom of the 70s. Nothing, including episode beats, change until Hakaider.
>>19263755Honestly I think TTW ironically put people even further off of subbing them, considering Toei's big "lol we don't care if you actually did them or not, just upload subs because we aren't paying for them" push with it, and why put effort into translating something that somebody else will steal or claim credit for.Of course this all got cucked by Youtube disabling community subs anyway, but I wouldn't be surprised much if that whole thing did further convince people away from subtitling whats on there
>>19260728Short answer: NoLong answer: X opened a can of worms that could imply maybe.
>>19265293With all due respect, I don't think that's the case at all. The community subs thing failed, but I'd be surprised if the channel itself hasn't raised awareness of various shows significantly - why would that decrease the likelihood of them getting fansubbed?
>>19265335Because I imagine what few fansubbers are left doing live-action shows either don't care about tokusatsu, or were already aware of these shows. Sure, general viewers are probably more aware of them now, but the people with the actual to subtitle them still don't give a shit cuz they already weren't interested in doing them. Channels been up a year already, if it was gonna cause folks to fansub them it would have happened by now.And again, the community sub thing was always gonna end up being a thing of people taking what fansubs already existed, slapping their names on it, and giving them to Toei. Would you want to take months to translate something just for somebody else to claim credit for it? I get the feeling most wouldn't
>>19265404Not gonna lie, that's a weird and particularly pessimistic interpretation, anon.In 2019, we didn't even have raws of a lot of these shows. Since 2020, we now have DVD rips of most of them available (110-ban is the only one I struggled to find) and already have one show (Robomaru) almost totally subbed. Even ignoring the TOEI channel, the TOEI comedies have never been more accessible.
>>19265443Not gonna lie, that's a weird and particularly overtly-optimistic perception, anon.Accessibility does not equate to being of interest to anyone with the ability to subtitle them. Even Robomaru is only being translated because Metallic seems extremely easy to be roped in to translate stuff for other groups.
>>19265466So, a show getting subs within mere months of RAWs becoming available doesn't ACTUALLY mean there's any interest in the Fushigi Comedy series?...and don't forget Berndadelta getting 'roped into' helping with Robomaru as well as Metallic - clearly neither of those two noted fansubbers are really interested in these shows...
>>19265482>"mere MONTHS" And yes, that's exactly what it means. There's interest in that particular show, but I don't see anybody subtitling the other stuff like Poitrine that has had raws for literal years. So unless you're banking on Berndadelta and Metallic doing all of them, you're being overly optimistic on how interested folks are in subtitling them
>>19265511Okay anon, you're right; the TOEI channel has clearly done naught but harm and put off all of the fansubbers and, either way, if any further TOEI comedies were ever going to be fansubbed then they would have been by now.
Kirby from Jurer here. Just want to say that while Robomaru was specifically done because I really enjoyed it raw, I'm friends with both Metallic and Berndadelta, and I wouldn't say that I "roped" them into it. They both saw me really hyped about the show when I first watched it, and got interested. Bern even reached out to me specifically after he saw that I started this project to mention that he had the first episode subbed and ready to release as an April Fools joke in response to how much I was hyping up Robomaru. He said he even was considering doing it as a full project until I started. And now, both of them really love this show, too. Also: there are two other Fushigi Comedy shows I'm interested in doing after Robomaru is done. I've got a "maybe" from each if they'd be willing to be involved. One of those two shows, I 100% would not have watched for years if Toei hadn't subbed the first two episodes and uploaded the rest raw. Also, on the idea that nobody wants to sub them: WeeabooShogun has mentioned on Twitter wanting to sub some of the Fushigi Comedy shows after they're done with Exceedraft. So don't rule it out as them never going to be subbed.
>>19263878oh, yeah, that thingthanks for reminding me. I gotta get that Christmas stuff back to an external, but yeah I'll try to poke at that over then next week or so
>>19265679Thanks taking the time to post, Azurillkirby, hope that puts the matter to rest a little.>Also: there are two other Fushigi Comedy shows I'm interested in doing after Robomaru is done. I've got a "maybe" from each if they'd be willing to be involved. That's officially the best news I've heard in 2021 thus far - hope it pans out!>Also, on the idea that nobody wants to sub them: WeeabooShogun has mentioned on Twitter wanting to sub some of the Fushigi Comedy shows after they're done with Exceedraft. Not an FCS show, but I do remember them being a big fan of 5 Nen 3 Kumi Mahou Gumi with the ever-wonderful Machiko SogaAlso, it was a shock seeing my Metal Kaiser sub on your Twitter - was a little embarrassed if I'm honest, as I still facepalm at some of my waffle-y sentences and somewhat stilted dialogue, but I'm happy with it overall.
>>19265293>Toei's big "lol we don't care if you actually did them or not, just upload subs because we aren't paying for them" push with itThis never happened.Literally and unironically fake news, made up by and continued to be propagated by the internet.
>>19265404>Channels been up a year already, if it was gonna cause folks to fansub them it would have happened by now.You have been continuing to show that you have no idea what you are talking about. Some raws exist online for years, before anyone subs them.>again, the community sub thingNever happened that way, and you are talking out of your ass.
>>19266069>>19266066Hi Ragone, still in denial about doing work for Chaiyo/Golden Media?
>>19266098I don't know what any of those words mean, but I see you aren't posting a source for Toei pushing for fansubs, so I will take this as your concession.
>>19266099>hurr durr I'm gonna act like people were going to bother community subtitling the shows for Toei from scratch instead of just ripping whatever subs exist for the shows up thereMaybe try reading and realize I never said that's what Toei was pushing for. What I said Toei wants and what the Fans were gonna do are two different things. But I see you aren't posting a source for Toei paying folks who did community subs, so I will take this as your concession.
>>19262376>>19262986I thought this was for some korean mobile game or mmo, it was never going to be a series
>>19266102>people were going to bother community subtitling the shows for ToeiFirst, nothing Toei never asked for community subtitles of their shows. If anyone, that was just a YouTube thing, because no show ever had subs added.>I never said that's what Toei was pushing forYou'll have to explain what:">>19265293>Toei's big "lol we don't care if you actually did them or not, just upload subs because we aren't paying for them" push with it"means, if not you saying Toei was pushing for subs.>posting a source for Toei paying folks who did community subsHow can I post a source, for something I said doesn't exist? All I have said was that Toei was never pushing for fansubs, I don't know where you are creating this "paying for subs" came from.People from the start were saying that Teoi was going to beg for subs or steal subs, but neither happened. They never once added fansubs to any video. All they ever did was exactly as they said. First 2 episodes with their English subs, no subs for 3-end of show.Still no source for any of your claims.
>>19266104It would make a lot of sense, a lot of companies release ads that look 1000 times more interesting than the game it's an ad for, Raid Shadow Legends and AFK Arena in particular lol
Toei's initial press release had one singular statement saying something along the lines of "There will be a public call for people to add translations" for other languages outside of English or for episodes past 2 in English. That is the complete extent of them asking for subs.
>>19266180https://www.toei.co.jp/release/public/1217460_1140.html>言語問わず字幕公募も受付予定ですThat's literally the extent of their "push for subs", which was nothing more than "hey, we'll accept subtitles". Then they never even accepted the subs thta people did add. There was no big push for them. There was no stealing fansubs. There was no further attempt to get fansubs.Literally all just retards shitting themselves online, and feeding off of each other's hate, rather than living in reality.
>>19265679Yeah, I've been interested in doing the kid detective shows since I saw low quality copies of them on Dailymotion like 10 years ago or so (also where I saw Winspector for the first time and liked it) and ended up getting raws from the Toei Channel. Now they're on the English Toei Channel which is great too.I love Fushigi Comedy. Nemurin is a goddamn Elder God horror show. In the depths of the earth they have slept until the stars were right for them to awaken.
>>19266104Looks like it was planned to be 52 episodes. The promo was directed by Legend Hero director Jun Jae-hoon. It was produced by an mmorpg developer, though.
Apologies for the obvious novice question but exactly how popular is tokusatsu domestically? I know that most people have seen at least one Super Sentai or Kamen Rider series in their lifetime but I'm curious to know if the adult following of various shows is niche or not
>>19267827It vastly depends on the country.
>>19267830Sorry, my bad. I meant "domestically" as "in Japan", I know that they're successful among their target audience (i.e kids) but how popular are they with adults?
>>19267827Kamen Rider is mainstream popular these days. Back in the 70s some toku like Kaiketsu Zubat failed for being more popular with adults than kids. That's not a good thing when you're main sponsors are toy companies. There's cases where they were hugely popular with both adults and kids, Ultraseven was like that.
>>19258473Ultraman Mook 13 Mirrorman MEGA scan.https://mega.nz/file/pbRGlTLD#QmxuDoOVqqOH9mvvENfBmEzGesrskP1rEXZp3HSq46k
>>19267827I've chatted to a lot of people in izakaya where my fondness for transforming hero shows has come up and, like you inferred, everyone seems to know the Rider/Sentai/Ultra franchises in some capacity and have particular entries that they remember from childhood or are watching/have watched with their kids. People have also told me things like that there's a certain actor living nearby. However, I've never met a Japanese adult who openly talks about being a fan and watching such shows in their own time. I have met some dads who've gotten really enthusiastic about the series they're watching with their children and were definitely invested in the storyline, but would they watch it in what little free time they have? I dunno (Well, they'd clearly rather go to the izakaya, but you know what I mean).>>19267905Thanks anon!
>>19267950>but would they watch it in what little free time they have? It's one of those "most don't, some do" situations. Most parents will have other interests and be busy with other parts of life. But GAGAGA should remind everyone that it's not socially acceptable to be a fan of kid's shit anywhere in the world. You just have to accept that, and hope you end up with a circle of friends who have similar interests, otherwise you are going to be watching it with your kids/grandkids only.
>>19266260>Then they never even accepted the subs thta people did addCorrectionThey added Malay and Brazilian subs that people gave them
>>19268766What shows?
>>19266098lmao need the scoop on this
>>19268766Albeit those were still only for the first 2 episodes.
akumaizer 3 have full english subs yet?
>>19268965I was honestly thinking about doing them myself with the Japanese scripts that are available, but I want to make sure that no one else is planning to do anything with the show because y’know, don’t wanna step on anyone’s toes. That and I need to get better at fansubbing.
>>19268969no offense but aren't you the guy fansubbing like everything under the sun and you don't know Japanese?
>>19269081The only thing I'm actively doing is Lion-Maru.And I know SOME Japanese, not enough to translate stuff without help, but enough that I'd like to believe that I at least know what I'm doing to some degree.

>>19269147>And I know SOME JapaneseWhat level did you finish?

>>19269081There are two types of translators. Guys who know the bare minimum and are "translating" really just so they have something to consume themselves (because they can't watch it raw anyway), and people who know Japanese. In fan circles, the former is much more common than the latter.
>>19270058Man, I thought there'd be more steps between knowing the bare minimum and knowing Japanese? I can probably cut down on the daily practice in that case...
>>19269163Please don't do guess-subs. Ask someone for help if you need it.
>>19270163I’m not guessing, I always at least have something to go off of.
>>19257956Are you still here, anon? Did you manage to dig up those Mirrorman REFLEX raws by any chance?
>>19270047Dem skele bois
>>19269150wait, really!? That's awesome
>>19270203>I always at least have something to go off of.Machine translations is not "something to go off of".
>>19265695looking forward to it :)
>>19270150Most people realise how dumb it is to translate stuff when you don't know anything pretty quickly if they're actually learning. The people who stay in that category will be pre-N5 forever.
I got fucked a bit by some real life shit, so "a couple of hours" turned into a couple of days. But here's the first episode and the accompanying .ass file.https://mega.nz/folder/7YNxlATQ#MaSmpnPV2yGEq9GY1AgMgQ
>>19270765>I got fucked a bit by some real life shitIt happens! Thanks, look forward to checking it out later. Does the mkv have the subs muxed in, or should I download the sub file, too?
>>19270803The mkv has the subs muxed in. The sub file is in case anyone already has the raws or just wants to mess about with it.
>>19270807Nice
>>19270765Seeing as episode 1 is the only one with an existing JPN-to-ENG fansub (by MBE) I took the opportunity to watch the first 5 minutes side by side. The lines in Kiyan's version were entirely in keeping with MBE's, suggesting that the combination of Portuguese dubtitles and Kiyan's translation of them hasn't compromised the original meaning.Props to you for putting this version together, anon - the BD source looks fantastic, and I'd definitely watch any more that you find the time to put out.
>>19270893Thanks. Hopefully the next two episodes go a bit more smoothly. Also, thanks to Kiyan for going through the effort of ocring and translating the Portuguese subs.
>>19271046Thank you.
>>19270893>The lines in Kiyan's version were entirely in keeping with MBE's, suggesting that the combination of Portuguese dubtitles and Kiyan's translation of them hasn't compromised the original meaning. The only thing you can conclude is that the first 5 minutes didn't have anything that required actual effort.
Does anyone know where I can find a 1080p rip of The Super Inframan (1975)?

Anyone know where I can get subtitles for Mirai Ninja, or find a hardsubbed version of decent quality?
>>19272436Nah, but there's a raw on nyaa and a hardsub in the paste that you can ocr or transcribe from if you wanna put together a decent version
>>19272388I tried watching Guyferd. Like 5 episodes or so, but I was just bored most of the time.
>>19271681Just like most of the show and 70s toku in general. Chill out, dude. Subs are fine.
>>19272641I'm only 3eps in, but I'm in love with the vibe and really enjoying the physical competence of the main cast
>>19272454Thats a shame, but that a ton for the hardsub atleast.
Two new Exceedraft episodes added to the Mega, 14 and 15. Sorry, I thought I added 14 a while ago.https://mega.nz/folder/KhUWwDIJ#ttCxGWF6OKdS3Hw0xgSRug/folder/S1sDBKCQ
Here's the nice quality, dual-audio version of the first Daimajin film which we lost when that one guy got upset and stopped hosting his links (at least he told us what he was deleting!). The 2005-2006 DVD release of Mirrorman by a distributor known as VAP,both the individual volume releases and the boxes, have M&E tracks for the entire series. The only torrent I could find of this is dead as a doornail, what do I do, short of spending several hundreds of dollars for the DVDs?

>>19272388I’ve brought up Guyferd a few times in previous threads. It’s a very underrated series.>>19272641The Mutian Arc can be a bit slow, but the Metalferd Arc is the high point of the show.
>>19272388Not 1080p, but I appreciate the google drive link.
>>19273911I wouldn't encourage it if it wasn't demonstrably working out well and it's not like it's pretending to be something it's not. At this point, I'm at a loss as to why you have such a problem with it.
>>19274434Hmm, I had two versions saved down for some reason. I have a 1080p version, but it's out there on torrents - let me know in a couple of days if you're struggling and I'll upload it.
>>19273911Translating toku is not the same as translating a novel, man. Dialogue is very simple and straightforward. You can translate to several languages and it will still be the same.
>>19274172I would rather have something closer to the movie, desu
>>19275192It heavily depends on the genre. If you try to translate comedy without actually knowing japanese, for example, chances are going to be shit because you'll be translating either 1) a literal translation, hence it won't be funny or 2) a compromise that was made to keep it funny, which varies by language.
>>19275308Different anon here; whilst I agree on comedy shows, it's not really a concern with hero shows. I'm old school and love profuse TL notes like "Pun on sōko (warehouse) and sō ka (Oh, I see)" or "Play on a line from Sayuri Ishikawa's 1977 enka hit 'Tsugaru Kaikyō Fuyugeshiki'", but I acknowledge that they aren't vital to enjoying the show. In Shushutto's scrub of Hurricaneger, they left most of Satarakura's puns unacknowledged - would I have preferred them translated? Sure, but I still very much enjoyed Hurricaneger without them, because the show wasn't built around Satarakura's jokes.
>>19275382So it's not a good translation, if it's dropping comedy. You're downplaying how much toku shows are funny. People like to pretend that toku is serious business, but it's not only silly but regularly funny. There's such a low chance that a translation of a translation is going to even attempt the comedy. If I wanted a halfassed understanding, I would just watch it raw.
>>19275195I'm only 5 episodes in, so far it's got the movie's charm but with occasional masked hero action. Lots of aerial space fights too.
>>19275308Good thing Lion-Maru isn't a comedy then.
>>19275308Also you got some dubs that are wildly different to the source language script. Like the Koseidon dub isn't even the same in the parts where in the japanese original they're speaking english
>>19275482Eh, you're still getting most of the comedy either way, from situational comedy to slapstick to deadpan humour - hell, you can often tell when someone's making a pun anyway, even if it's not translated.I'm not saying that I wouldn't rather have every joke explained, I'm just not a stick in the mud about such things.
Is there any possible way to make a dead torrent with zero seeds & zero peers not dead?

>>19276081>>19278320Bereke's upload can be found on KRDL. Has the dub and subs and you can get the theatrical cut there too. Personally I prefer the latter because it's faster paced and doesn't have the out of place cg at the end, but both are good.
>>19267905Am I doing something wrong or is it missing alot of pages?
>>19279131The pages are out of order but they're all there.
Since it counts as a Tokusatsu film I'll just straight up ask here.Have any of y'all seen the Japanese release of GunHed? If so I need some confirmation on something, see ADVs release of the film cheekily credited the director as Alan Smithee but from what I understand the original release doesn't do that. Either way, I've seen hundreds of reviews and articles not bother fact checking to see if anyone involved was actually ashamed of the movie in that way (I mean reviewers almost never do but ya know) so I was hoping someone here can appeal to my autism.
>>19278932So this is a bunch of Ultraman stock footage with scenes of Korean actors spliced in?
>>19278932Wait how? The reason why it was lost was because it used unlicensed footage. What's next a rerelease of mazinger X?
>>19278932haha what's this messI gotta pre-order it now
Pretty kino title for a final episode.
A Thundermask bootleg DVD. Quality might be better than what's available online, but 100+ for 4 episodes is pretty steep.
