Post your favorite spaceships as we enter the futuristic year of 2021...
>>19239733For me it's the UNSC Infinity
>>19239733Even after they took their main cannons out, it was still able to put a fight. That alone earned its place in my heart. Kinda sad how it jobbed in Macross 2, considering how much they hyped it.
Clichee pick but fuck it.
>>19239739cringe
>>19239739So, we just ram covenant scums now?
>>19239821interdasting
>>19239803Ships that was blown into smithereens isn't allowed. You should have picked a better ship.
I prefer the SSX version, but either Arcadia is great.
>>19239733
>>19239733For me, the Omega Destroyer from Babylon 5
Future Enterprise for a future to wonder about
>>19242724The Halberd in the anime is far more blatantly just the Yamato with Meta Knight's mask on the prow.
For me, the "Death Laugh", Desular's "Flying Flashlight" flagship from Yamato II.
>>19246886
>>19246887
>>19246892
>>19239733Not space exactly but whatever
Also, because the game doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
>>19239733I just love it
keep this going
>>19239733I preferred her clumsy younger sister.
this had a lot of potential.
For me it's the Daedalus
Say what you will about the show, you can't deny that the ship is one sexy, sexy beast
For me, it's the Lunar Class (but I love the aesthetics in general)
>>19242573>>19248649I remember hearing that for an early version of the Millennium Falcon, they glued two dixie cups together, kind of like this:
>>19242573>>19248649Looks like a Ralph McQuarrie painting ot that early dixie-cup design
The one thing in this game that I can't complain about.
>>19251104yeah iirc Rebel Blockade Runner / Tantiv IV grew out of an abandoned Falcon design
>>19251113thought that foreground looked familiar...
absolutely beautiful.
Love this ship
>>19251231>>19251302Thanks for the info. The front of the Tantive IV even looks like two dixie cups tied together!
>>19251104>>19251113I think some of those early concepts ended up being background ships and other corellian ships, right?
>>19251104When I found out that Leia's ship was originally going to be the millenium Falcon, the huge engine section on her ship made sense, because Han kept talking about how the Falcon was the fastest ship in the galaxy in the first SW movie.
Not only cool looking hut also able to transform into a beast of a machine
>>19252875Finally seeing more than a passing glance at the interior in Mandalorian was cool, especially when they showed it rotating for takeoff.
>>19252875>>19253022I was always curious about the interior, is ir vertical or horizontal?
>>19253098iirc it's rotated appropriate to the direction going back to the ESB toy
>>19239827That ship took out a halo ring, while yours simply signified the death of a series.
I like 'em wide.
>>19255909
>>19255910
>>19255917
>>19255923
>>19255909>>19255910>>19255917>>19255923>>19255924such a comfy show. Cant say I liked the last season as much as season 1 and 2 though
>>19239798Is it? For as big as the show is, the Bebop itself seems to blend more into the background, with the characters' personal crafts stealing the spotlight more.Shame, the Bebop is a really cool ship.
>>19258367yeah it's a nice ship but I like Faye's gunpod more
>>19247365My Nigga. I always wonder what the original deisgn intent of Nexus was, a lot of it's systems are built like an RTS-RPG hybrid, but I get the distinct impression that the game as release has a TON of cut content & gameplay.
>>19258775The Red Tail is an interesting design
>>19259236>>19247365How is this game?
>>19253835>signified the death of a seriesIt singlehandedly revived the franchise after that shitty 2015 halo Guardians.
For a standard battleship, the Argell was a real beauty.
>>19261287Worth checking out. It's a fairly straightforward RTS, combat is a balance between outright damage and targeting subsystems. The enemy Ai is either incredibly dumb or 4 parallel universes ahead of you depending on the minute. For a 2004 game it's very pretty, lots of attention to detail in the presentation - Ships show use of reverse and maneuver thrusters firing, craft are to scale, some really nice effects. The earlier missions where ships don't have shields and weren't armed to the teeth were the best parts of the game imo.
From the 1980 film, Toward the Terra. (地球へ) Here are spaceships used by the Psionic "Mu" refugees and by the technic computer controlled society trying to exterminate them. I like how the Mu ships look like they were grown organically. To me, they look like seashells.
I love Trek ships.
>>19265609The Sovereign class is pure sex. My favorite ship to fly in STO.
Vic Viper is my all time favorite.
>>19251104>>19251113>>19252838It's still kinda insane to me that the only reason we got such an iconic design was because some pom spoke up and said: "Oi mate! 'At design roight 'ere look's a 'lil bit like 'at one ship frum 'at one space show or sumthin'! You wankers wouldn't 'appen 'ta be plagiarisers would ya?'. Funny part was both were cribbing from 2001's playbook but Lucas and co. were smart enough in another direction.
For me it's the Screaming Firehawk.
Ocean>space
>>19251359whew that's some fuckin nostalgia right there.
>>19266917I'm so glad for the falcon we got
>>19268848what's this?
>>19269396I think maybe tenchi ovas?
nuff said
>no logh:(
>>19239733I just want the game bros.
Everyone in this thread just lost. Every single one.
>>19244493My man!
>>19272349You must be new here, ship threads have been a thing for years. And a lot of mecha shows have ships, so they officially count as /m/-related, and therefore allowed in the rules. So basically LURK MOAR
>>19272349Suck a dick Cuckdam faggot
>>19272899One could even go so far as to call that anon a Monshaposter
>>19272349If there's one franchise I wish deleted from history in it's entirety it would be Gundam.
>>19273657fuck year Mead Yamato
>>19273186Fuckin A.
>was never that big of a fan of the Nebula>decide on a whim to look up some Trek lore one day>find out that it exemplified the modular Federation starship design philosophy>one of their most versatile ships for exactly that reason>direct descendent of the Miranda classGot mad respect for this boi now
Starship Operators was pretty alright
Fight me, I like it.
The B-Wing started my fascination with odd or strangely shaped ships that still maintain a conventional basis.
>>19274530my man
>>19274447I've only ever seen fans get mad at the hotrod nacelles, honestly. That and the size, but few seem to realize it's twice the original Enterprise.
>>19274447The A is such a step up though.
>Ships
>>19274869This upgrade is perfect, I wish they made a fourth movie>>19274668I don't get the hate, I liked how they updated the design
>>19274869Too bad we'll never see a movie about it.
“HAIL HUMANS AND TAKE HEED, THIS IS THE CARRIER SHADOW OF INTENT!”
>>19274102Better-ish resolution for you
Any spaceship that transform into mecha? Love that shit.

>>19275579There's also >>19274190 and some transformers.
I heard you faggots like solar sails.
The ancient derelict from the first eps of Star Trek animation impressed me quite a lot when i was younger. It was the first time I encountered a ship with no obvious propulsion equipment. No nacelles, nozzles or thrusters.
It was the also the first time I encountered technology that looked like it was grown instead of built.
>>19276995>>19276990it's really cool when TAS remembers it's animated and they could draw any crazy shit instead of people and basic TOS models
>>19276765I do enjoy a good spinal laser.
Odin was cool
>>19277034Agreed. Animation allowed for so much more than practical effects on a TV budget.
>>19276256Source?
>>19277160Moretsu Pirates.
1)) The Enterprise from Star Trek was the first dispersed-structure spaceship design I ever saw. Different pieces, held together by struts or girders or pylons or something. When first I saw it, I tried to reason why anyone would weaken the structural integrity of the ship. I figured the nacelles must put out some fierce radiation and by positioning them outside the main hull, shielding the crew from that radiation would be easier. The disadvantages of the dispersed architecture would be that ship could never enter too deeply into the atmosphere or gravity well of a planet.
2)) But there is no denying that the Enterprises dispersed architecture was truly original. Before the Enterprise, all the spaceships I’d seen were shaped like flying saucers or V-2 missiles. Or cigars or bowling balls.
3)) My favorite “retro” space fleet was the Imperial Atomic Space Navy from Spaced Invaders.
>>19277336>Spaced InvadersJesus Tits. I haven't thought about that in ages.
>>19273888I really hate how it lands on that red bit all the time though. Surely that can't hold the whole thing up.
>>19277666Of course it can. And don't call me Shirley.
>>19277331It's really sexy for some reason
BSG: Deadlock has some great designs for the Ron Moore Battlestar Galactica continuity.
>>19279511I've installed this game twice and played it 0 times.
>>19269477love space noahs
>>19241330 >>19242035based 90s anon
D'deridex is sex. One of the best alien starship designs ever.
>>19279912My absolute favourite. I remember I failed a date because there was a picture of one on a window we went past and I had to tell her about how good it is.
>>19279924You did nothing wrong, anon.
>>19253125>So the miners are now warriors? You have come far, little Kiith Somtaaw.>You can still join us and be rewarded, as the Imperialists will be.>We can make your Kiith supreme upon Hiigara. Is this not what you wanted, when you awakened my children?
>>19269591drake ships have the best designs, aegis comes in second imo
