Was FM always this dark? I swear I played them like 20 years ago and felt it's pretty lighthearted.
>>1878093450+ page essays with citations? On my /m/?
>>18780938The guy worked hard on it. The citations prove he didn't make things up.
>>18780943Oh yeah I can the guy did his homework. I'll have to give it a read at some point.
>>18780830in FM1 your wife was kidnapped from the hospital and had her brain removed and put in a mecha.
It was pretty grim, just not as visual as Dog life.
>>18780934Where the fuck did this guy find a copy of Front Mission Zero
>>18780830WHEN WILL THEY TRANSLATE THE REST?!! WHEN?!!!!
>>18780934I may not care for series like this, but I've got nothing but love and respect for a /m/an putting this much time and effort into something he loves dearly
>>18782405MC shuts her down after killing the end boss.
>>18780830If you have played 3 or even Gun Hazard, themes about war atrocities have been always there; it only felt "lighthearted" and subdued because of the various limitations to the medium they were on.
>>187808303 is the only “lighthearted” one and that still has some fucked up shit in it
>>18782426Fucking this holy shit. A manga isn't allowed to make me feel this terrible and not finish. It's bullshit.
>>18783712I literally started reading it a week after getting over the same heartbreak with Area 88. We were put on this earth to suffer and die
>>18782426>>18783712>>18783899Someone picked it up translating it again.
>>18783627I guess we're just blocking Evolved out of our minds
>>18783911Oh no shit? Link?
>>18783980It's that bad huh, Dual Gear doesn't look promising either, fuck.
>>18783999Dual Gear is actually pretty good gameplay-wise (with some QOL issues), the dialogue is just pure dogshit
>>18784050Sick. Thanks, pal.
>>18784008>QOLmy favorite meme
>>18782426How late are you?
>>18782436Yeah, I personally can not get into the sort of mindset that enjoys transmedia franchises, but it's impressive to see someone manage to track down all the components and catalog them. Clearly they cared about Front Mission a lot.
>>187836274 seemed pretty tame to me, compared to other entries. That is, until I read the manga
>>18784083You've done it anon, you've made the most inane contrarian hipster complaint possible.
>>18784121what the fuck am I looking at here
>>18784594That’s also because the English translation cut out the MC being addicted to painkillers
>>18784594Are there translations of the FM4 sidestory? I know it delved pretty deeply into Elsa's PTSD and her developing relationship with Darryl after he goes AWOL, but nothing much more than that.
>>18780830I love the manga but does anyone else find the constant OCU wank to be a little weird? I only played 1 and 3 but I feel like one of the constant themes of FM is that both sides are capable of wartime depravity and it's all about the struggles of fundamentally decent people caught in between. But it feels like the manga went all in on the glorious OCU did nothing wrong vibes. Never played 4 and 5 so maybe FM went harder on that in the later games but my impression was that the series generally presented the governments of both sides being pretty awful and callous.
>>18783911>>18784121What the fuck, I had no idea. Today is an incredibly good day
Flock bros.... We got too cocky.......
Speaking of Front Mission; has anyone played Left Alive? I was excited for it at announcement, but every bit of actual gameplay I've seen looks kind of terrible.
>>18786826>ambush a group of mercenaries magnanimous enough to warn you to GTFO within 30 minutewe pissful villajas. we dindu nuffinHow the fuck were they allowed to settle in that goddamn island in the first place.
>>18786891It had to have been some kind of indeginous/aboriginal deal where they just never left. Either way, I hate them with a passion for what they've done to my man.
>>18786620I actually only now have read past the first arc. This guy is incredibly based.
>>18786891Probably the villagers were conspiring with the USN since its there territory. The whole thing was just a trap so the USN could located them with their satellite.
It'll once again be time to get your Wanzer on. Soon.
>>18787672Nah, the mercs were there to set up a trap, it was just convenient there was a Doctor to heal the burned man. But of course the villagers were too cocky and killed based man. They deserve it.
>>18787690>grossly overpriced little candy toysYeah, don't be fooled by those painted figure photos.
>>18787656Fruit of Eden was my absolute favorite arc for a while, although now that it's getting translated again this Shepherd arc is coming in for a strong tie.
