I need to improve my spanish vocabulary and reading skills so I'm looking for something interesting to read in spanish. Essentially, what are some classic publications that are only available in spanish? Mathematics, philosophy, and theology are all fine

I really like books in spanish, but not spanish translations. Spanish is too much of a rich language to be a transtation one. English, being so basic, is better for translate and write technical stuff (maybe the reason why english FL speakers are mostly npcs).

Fray Luís de León's best poems, Don Quixote (specially the second book), Ortega y Gasset, Machado, Borges and the Unamuno's book about Don Quixote that is all.

Las meditaciones del Quijote is also an impressively good work considering its brevity, man wrote like a poet and thought like a genius (read after reading Cervantes of course)

Our Heidegger, in fact, he translated the nazi didn't he? Do you know how good those translations are or am I better of reading them in English?

Don Colacho.
There is no one more baste than the hermit from the Andes.

read Don Quixote if you haven't already. The book is quite big, 345.000 words(for reference, the complete lord of the rings trilogy is 480.000 words). Don Quixote is the most important piece of spanish literature, so if you haven't read it you definitely should.

I'm Argentine and I am sure the best Spanish writer still untranslated into English is the reactionary philosopher from Colombia Nicolás Gómez Davila

Get his Escolios a un texto implícito

He wrote very elegant aphorisms. He has been translated into German and Italian.
