I'm currently reading this. I just read chapter seven and I don't understand. Why did Daniel want to/almost attempt to drown his cats? Any way, so far I think it's a pretty good book and can recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it. I don't understand why Sartre is so hated on here, he's a good writer and keeps your attention well, and I think he gets his ideas across with very satisfying prose.
I read the trilogy years ago, I enjoyed it at the time, but I don't remember much, esp. of the second volume.
