Just like you can sort of become marginally happier by forcing yourself to smile, holding tension in the forehead/scowling/frowning is associated with the intense negative emotions of BPD. Paralyzing those muscles with Botox dampens this feedback loop, reducing severe negative emotions and preventing wrinkles as well. I have a high-stress job and Botox has noticably helped me cope by taking the tension out of the upper third of my face. I want to get my masseter done next time bc I still clench my jaw a lot too.
