>start losing hair Oct. 2021>1.5 yrs post orchi>learn hrt doc was hondosing me>correct it in November, hrt doc puts me on fin just in case>January 2022, still losing hair>see dermatologist >tells me to start using rogaine>april, still losing hair >go back to derm>gets pissed because she thinks I'm just being impatient with the rogaine and refuses to schedule another appt until August>go to local doctor>she says she can't see any evidence of hair loss, tells me I have ocd, won't listen to reason and won't see me again for hair issues unless I bring her a negative ocd diagnosis>call around, nobody locally is taking patients and places in the cities have months long waitlists>reach end of my rope, call hrt doc back to ask for a referral to a specialist at her hospital, which i know is good for this stuff>tells me that if my blood tests come out normal she won't do anything for me>have had every test she ordered in the last few months and they're mostly normalI don't know what to fucking do. 3 different doctors in 6 months have done jack shit for me. is there anything else I can be doing here or am I truly fucked into becoming a bald tranny at age 26?Pic related, it's about what I lose every time I wash my hair
>>25782626there's types of alopecia that don't have anything to do with androgens, did they test for those?
>>25782626Do you brush your hair regularly and thoroughly or do you skip it a lot of the time?
>>25782626It’s over
>>25782626>those handsYour body is rejecting the estrogen because it knows it was meant to be male
>>25782652I have wavy hair and brushing it makes it frizzy and ugly. i comb with a wide toothed comb at least 2x daily>>25782649they checked e and t, normal. did a comprehensive metabolic panel, normal. tested for thyroid, normal. b12, normal. vitamin d, normal. only thing slightly off is my white blood cell count has been consistently hovering around the low range of normal. Sometimes below, sometimes above. the doctor who ordered that told me that was fine but that's the one who's convinced i have ocd so i don't know if I trust that
>>25782681knew I'd get this comment kek
>>25782673rope time for me :)
>>25782741Sorry I really shouldn't be mean, mostly it's stuff aimed at myself
>>25782804
>>25782804i get it frend - i didn't take it personally but i do hope you can try to learn some healthier coping mechanisms
>>25782626You should do that 23 and me and make sure you don’t have some weird medical condition. Alopecia is linked to immune system so the white blood cell thing could be linked but probably not. You can get hair loss shit done by a tele doc, why waste time in office. Also the usual suspects: eat healthy, wash your sheets, make sure it’s not a product you’re using that you are allergic to, check your daily stress levels, check water tests for your municipality to make sure it’s not a chemical thing.
>>25782626Cant imagine what it could be if your hormone levels are balanced. Maybe you wanna get your prostate checked, mold in your house, or diet, something. Are you eating well enough?
>>25782918not them but also check you arent tying it too tight. i never tie my hair and i still lose about that much 2x times a week when i shampoo
>>25782945i live in a shitty old duplex & i def don't eat great but I've eaten way worse for a long time and still had better hair. & didn't think of prostate but I can ask my hrt doc about that>>25782918I'm poor so have medicaid - 99% of the time it doesn't cover telemedicine. will consider genetic testing but i don't want my whole genome to be bought and sold also. what should i be looking for in the water btw?
>>25782961i literally never put it up - fully exposes the honforehead which instakills anyone who sees it. but thx for the advice
>>25783061chlorine and mercury and shit like thateating is very important... you need your grains fibers proteins veggies and vitamins. If you eat like shit your body suffers and it can't fight off harsh environments.
>>25783099this is the most recent shit off my city's website- Raw Water QualityNon-Carbonate Hardness, ppm: 100Total Hardness, ppm: 405Total Hardness, grains per gallon: 23.68pH: 7.36Treated Water QualityNon-Carbonate Hardness, ppm: 103Total Hardness, ppm: 154Total Hardness, grains per gallon: 9.00pH: 9.49Chlorine residual, ppm: 2.78Iron content, ppm: 0.02Fluoride content, ppm: 0.68Bacterial SamplesSamples Taken: 61Confirmed Positive Samples: 0
>>25782626keep taking duta / finarest is probably telogen effluvium, enjoy. hard to combat, but reversible, just have to stop stress
>>25783061Giving blood regularly (or plasma) helps remove forever chemicals from your body. If you’re paranoid, they got your genome at birth anyway, pretty standard to take blood or take the placenta. Or like, they get it from your trash, whatever. Take a vitamin for healthy hair. I do olly biotin and collagen for hair/nails.
are they testing your dht levels?
bump
>>25782626Honestly, good chance its your shampoo. If its the shitty 1$/Liter shit, or the 5 in on stuff, dump it, get better hair care
>>25785915That's cheaper than water wtfDo they just scent greywater with chemical waste and call it a day?
>>25782626it's normal to lose a lot of hair in the shower, especially if you have thick hair and don't brush it much otherwise
>>25782626didn't the derm do a trichoscopy to identify what kind of hair loss it was?
>>25785993>medfag detected
>>25782626So when is gi jane 2 coming out?
>>25782626that's interesting. try also asking in a more specialized reddit community. don't limit yourself to trans communities either, it's not what you should concern yourself with right now. some group of desperate men in their 30s trying to save their hair might judt have the trick you are looking for.lastly consider that hair loss can be caused by more than just off hormone levels. there's other diseases that have the syptom.
>>25782626I have a similar issue and I got hondosed too (very low E with nuked T), do you think long term low E levels could be the cause?
>Changed from cypro to bica>Nizoral shampoo>Hair loss came to a halt>Used to pull handfulls from my head every shower like OP but now its barely anyMighta been something involving the prolactin from cypro, might've been the new shampoo, but hey try everything you can OP.
>>25786230not op but this poster>>25786216been thinking abt getting an orchi in case it's the triptorelin
>>25782626How is your diet? How is your exercise? How is your mental health? The 3 tie into each other.I suspect it could be something to do with things like that.Do you drink enough water?Do you wear hats?Do you scratch it a lot?Do you have any condition like scalp psoriasis?Do you smoke?Do you drink?Do you do drugs?I would look at things like that.
>>25786298And how is your sleep?
>>25786298>>25786307so how's derm rotation?
>>25786311?
>>25786311I'd never even heard of that term. But I'm just using good old fashioned common sense to figure out things to investigate.Medications might be another one to figure out.And then just what it is that you eat.
You didn't even tell us what's the pattern of your hair loss and didn't show your hair so we know you're not a schizo.
>>25782626>Pic related, it's about what I lose every time I wash my hairOn average about 100 hairs fall out a day. It's probably absolutely normal.
>>25786601this is the hair loss version of hugboxing
>>25786616No, it's a fact.
>>25786621right but if OP notices it when she didn't before then clearly something is up. like maybe she went from 50 a day to 100 a day
>>25786640maybe telogen effluvium. but why do we even discuss if we weren't provided with info about hair loss pattern (are temples receding? is thinning noticeable on the whole head? etc.) and photos. like op doesn't want real help, only guesses
>>25786725ill post mine if you want something to analyse since I'm basically having the same issue
>>25786725photos of mine I mean. mostly a lot of loss on my right hand side, at the temples but also on the sides and all over
is it the vaxx
wanna kill myself
>>25782626I noticed when I stopped eating meat I would lose hair. Try eating some more if you aren't.
>>25783747nope - I asked my doctor for that but she only does free and total. total t is 9 ng/dL and free t is 1.6 pg/mL. didn't think it'd be possible to have a clinically significant level of dht in me bc of the ball chop>>25783243could theoretically be that, i suppose. could stressing about this cause further hair loss?>>25785915I'm poor so recently yes I've been using cheap shit. i was using an expensive salon brand when I first noticed this. noted, though. been meaning to go to a salon for new shampoo/a trim but I've been scared shorter hair will make me look obviously balding.>>25785993she came in, looked at me, told me that rogaine was the only answer, said I "might already have regrowth at the temples," and left. that's what you get in the midwest unless you actively search for a good doctor.>>25786202reddit told me that I'll never be a real woman and that this is the price for fucking with my hormones lmao>>25786298diet could be better, has been worsemental health not great, but has been worseexercise pretty good, walk a mile or 2 every day or so, has been worsedrink around 2 L water/daynever wear hatsonly scratch at the hairline occasionally and that's not my area of most concern nowno known conditions. sometimes get what feel like pimples on the scalp, and before the hair loss started, my hair started smelling like wet dog and then I started getting white buildup like dandruff but it never fell, only was there if I scratched my head. was weird but my doctor never addressed it when i told herdon't drink, don't smoke, only drugs are prescriptions, stopped taking the only one that has hair loss as a reported side effect. sleep is fine.
>>25786434first noticed it at the temples. it does seem like I'm getting some regrowth there, but now it seems like widespread thinning across the top of the head. my hair part is wider and i can clearly see the scalp under the hair right next to the part. i have a tiny birthmark which is usually hidden by my thick hair and that's very visible now, which is how I'm tracking progress.>>25786640sorry for not posting that immediately. i didn't expect actual help but if anyone's still reading this, here's the type of loss.>>25786640i used to lose a lot of hair, just bc it used to be so thick and wavy but this is at least 3x normal for me. just judging by the size of the hair clumps that come out when I'm conditioning, rinsing, and combing.>>25786813yeah mine doesn't look like that. It looks like male hairline (receded temples with a tiny bit of regrowth) plus thinning all over.
>>25787414there are other routes for dht synthesis please order your own test for it.
>>25787459So probably androgenic alopecia.Do you use progesterone? Progesterone converts to DHT during prenatal development, but when you have deficiencies in some enzymes and you have higher levels of progesterone, it can convert to DHT regardless of how much testosterone you have.
>>25787532nope, don't use progesterone.>>25787516I'm gonna try one last time to get my doctor to order DHT and not just free and total. how can i get dht tested on my own and how much does it cost?
>>25782626>getting orchi there is your mistakeyou stop producing any testosterone , even cis women have some. now ur just on a e dominance and it fucks your body up. if you do orchi you need a new test source
>>25787589then why don't you hear all trannies who had orchis or srs having this problem? also genuinely curious cause the triptorelin has been keeping my T at castrate range for years. are you just trolling
>>25787589your adrenal glands still produce a small amountwhere do you think cis women get theirs from?
>>25787516and even if it is mpb related, I'm on finasteride which should be blocking dht activity on the scalp right?>>25787589it was that or go into liver and kidney failure, and my t levels aren't awful i thought
>>25787589fake. you don't stop. you have it produced in also in adrenals (in small quantities). you don't need testosterone if you have it replaced with estrogen, people with androgen insensitivity syndrome are fine. estrogen dominance is pseudoscience.
>>25782626Remember to derma roll hard enough. No pain no gain. Also try to relax enough so your stress stops accelerate the speed of the hair loss. But some supplements for stress and hair growth and improve your diet and sleep schedule. Tiny things like this could help.
>>25787826does decapeptyl/triptorelin affect adrenal activity?
>>25787621even dutasteride blocks only ~50% of scalp DHT and with hypersensitivity high enough it could be too little. apart from (hydroxy)progesterone->dht route, there are also 11-oxyandrogens which can be produced excessively. you can check if you have 21-hydroxylase deficiency
>>25787903will a blood dht test provide useful information on scalp dht?
>>25782626Stone Cold Steve Austin looks pretty cool bald
>>25787903do you become more dht sensitive over time then? this never happened to me when i still had my testes and was producing shitloads of t (and presumably dht) which makes me confused as to why it's happening now. plus like 2 people in my family's history have ever had mpb, my dad's 75 and still has a full head and my male grandparents never had issues
>>25788419yes, that's why older men go bald despite having less male hormones
try supplementing iron and eat vitamin a. liver or carrots. avoid vit a pills. vitamin k might be helpful too. also scalp massage and quit chewing gum if you do.>>25788537the real reason for it is atherosclerosis. less blood flow. low oxygen conditions increase dht. dht increases need for oxygen as it stimulates hair.
>>25788593what about smoking, does that cause atherosclerosis too?
>>25788616afaik it contributes. supposedly some isolated tribe that eats mostly tubers and has sub 150 cholesterol has clear arteries and almost everyone smokes... under normal conditions it does increase plague. many thimgs contribute too. infections low thyroid and high amount of fat in general. what comes to mind is eating foods that boost nitric oxide. veggies and stuff. if ot works for heart and has signoficant impact on erectile function it should help hair too.
>>25788777do you think the "holding under the tongue" action that sublingual requires would be damaging for the same reasons that chewing gum is, or is it a different set of muscles
>>25788896i think it is just chewing. temporalis becomes "toned" and as result blood flow lessens. ot os only theoretical but there are studies showing blood flow in mpb areas is lower...
>>25788952hm, thank you. off topic, but do you think I could becausing a t/dht spike with my regimen? I moved from 2 100mcg patches with a 12 week deca shot, to 3mg sublingual daily with the shot, to 5/6 mg sublingual daily plus a 100mcg patch when I felt like the levels were too low, cause the hair loss I was having I think started during a long hondose (2mg oral e + deca) but I've been having mild morning wood again, and acne as well. did I potentially mess up something with my adrenal or pituitary?
>>25788325Best post in thread so far
>>25787414>reddit told me that I'll never be a real woman and that this is the price for fucking with my hormones lmao then go to a different place on reddit / phrase it so that it doesn't invite all the transphobes.also you get that and then decide 4chan is the way to go now? great call.
>>25782626show your hairline or fuck off
>>25782626>I don't know what to fucking do1. Sublingual Minoxidil (pill form). Not every responds well to topical minoxidil. Watch the video. You can also google some studies.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXu9qtdf3AY2. Biotin.. Get 1,000mcg pills, cut them in 4ths, and take one piece daily. If your skin doesn't break out, you can can up your dose from there.3.Ketoconazole 2% cream. (use only a bit)4. Oil mixture. Get a bottle of any size and fill it with 75% jojoba oil (this will be your "carrier" oil) and the fill the rest of the bottle up with equal parts peppermint + rosemary + lavender oils (these oils are the active ingredients).5. Jamaican black castor oil.6. Sephora's THE ORDINARY "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% (expensive but some people get nice results).7. Add the following to a water bottle (32oz or 16oz) : 1-3 teaspoons of collagen peptides + 1-3 teaspoons of brewer's yeast (try Solgar Brewer's Yeast Powder) + 1-2 pinches of L-Carnitine Tartrate + a pinch of MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane). Then fill the bottle up with water (I fill mine up with green tea and stick it in the freezer before going to bed so I can take it to work with me when I wake up) and drink it through out your day.Just be careful with MSM. If you take too much, it'll give you a wicked migraine8. Microneedle. Also, you should google each substance I've mentioned so you can make your own judgement about what you think might be snake oil and what you feel might actually help.
