I want to know to a reasonable degree which direction a noise came from.
>>59588951cheap non-electronic solution is Surefire EP4s...that have a little plug you can undo that allows you to hear most things normally, but greatly restricts harmful decibel levels/frequencies. >>59589323>>59590510He could forgo MOLLE entirely with the LAB and use velcro one-wrap to mount KYWIs and other pouches. I finally got around to trying this with my new Blue Alpha belt earlier this year after being skeptical about one-wrap holding up, but it's worked great so far. It's also kind of nice that it makes pouch placement less beholden to the MOLLE spacing.

>>59590713idk, i didn't watch the 40min vid and already have a flc
>>59590713Nothing really, just another chest rig. They are all probably about the same, just varying prices and default configs. I have the T.Rex one and a Haley Heavy and they are both fine. T.Rex is better out of the box imo.
>>59590821Well that's good to hear. I don't have any T.Rex stuff, but ever since getting cucked by Trudeau I've been working on different projects. Needed something to carry my shotgun cards, stendo Glock mags for the PCC and, most annoyingly, the AICS mags for my scout. This thing has demonstrated to be able to do that... So I buy. No horror stories about T.Rex build quality or anything?
>>59590874Nothing that I've heard of at least. People have opinions on their holsters not being the best, but nylon has always been fine afaik.
>>59590895Thanks senpai.
I kind of want a field shirt to wear on weekend backpacking trips, but I also don't want to wear a military uniform in a decidedly civilian context and I also don't want to get shot during durr season. Does anybody make shirts that are similarly constructed (seals up relatively tight against bugs, sleeves aren't slit like a dress shirt, ripstop 50/50 nylco)?
>>59591038Uncertain if this will help you, but I use a $30 Amazon Safari shirt I found for that.
>>59590874The only consistent complaint I've heard about a T.Rex nylon product was in regards to the Ready Rig's stitching. The Ready Rig is basically an elastic cummerbund with pockets, but if you look at the way the pockets are sewn compared to something like the A&A Tactical SEACU-cummerbund, it was clear that the stitching on those elastic pockets wasn't going to hold up to hard use.Their quad flap chest rig looks well made, and -- dare I say it? -- a better product than Garand Thumb's Recce Rig. The 3 columns of MOLLE on each side make it better for expansion compared to the Recce Rig's 2 columns. The T.Rex rig also has pockets on the back for radios and other stuff, whereas the Recce Rig has nothing. They both have map pockets.

I want to make a kit around my MP5. I'm thinking either black + black multicam or black + grey/mas grey. Would that look atupid? I'm not an equipment homosexual and I can't into color schemes or designs, so any suggestions are appreciated.
>>59591474Did a Velcro employee molest you when you were a kid or something? Seek help.>>59591656As much as I love black, I wouldn't recommend it (including MCB) as a primary color for gear. Wolf grey is better, especially once you get it nice and dirty. MAS grey is more of a brown-grey and blends pretty well with different environments compared to wolf grey. Be aware that there's far less gear in MAS grey compared to wolf grey.Black is okay in small amounts. I really like the aesthetic of ranger green with black accents over the ranger green with coyote accents that some companies use.
How uncomfortable are BDU coats under plate carriers?
>>59591732Haha what a le supreme gentleman reply, learn to mount your gear properly you lazy ignorant weak handed fuck.
>>59591732Thank you for your reply, anon. What is your reason to avoid black as a primary color?
>>59594183Stands out, even at night. Doesn't blend in with anything. If that's not a concern for you, then feel free to buy black gear. However, it's not unusual for guys to buy a bunch of black gear, and then wish they had stuff that blends in with their environment better, and have to buy all new stuff in a different color/pattern. Can't spray paint black gear to change its color, either. Takes a ton of paint to even start covering the black and it doesn't really work. That much paint also makes nylon extremely stiff.

what lessons has Ukraine taught us about gear? this is the question that needs to be asked. Ukraine has shown us the first direct peer-to-peer conflict in many decades. What are the lessons we can learn from both sides that we can incorporate into our setups? this is not rhetorical. >>59595082Ukraine has seen lots of artillery, small drones, and landmines. So soft armor under plates that covers more area with just frag protection is necessary. The US has already had this for a long time. Mine clearing equipment is also needed.
I've been gone for a while, and it's good to see that /gq/ seems less retarded than when I left. What's the route for gear when you don't have mechanized support? /gq/ has always been on point with the tier 1/2 stuff, but how would your gear chance if you had to ruck in, versus being dropped off by helo/wheeled vehicle? Having done things inna military where I was issued a JPC but had to nav to where we'd be fighting, pretty much everyone would keep their gear in their ruck until we were coming within a few miles of where we'd be fighting. >>59595082Good question to be asking. >netting on helmetsis always a good thing if the vegetation calls for it. In the city it's meh, in the desert it's not really necessary imo.>footwearSeems like whatever's comfy works. I wouldn't use vans, but I'm seeing a lot of hiking shoe looking footwear. I like muh ankle support but it seems like low cut is popular.>iff standardsThat's an interesting one to see; two adversaries wearing similar-enough camo to warrant using brightly colored tape. While the useability of camouflage is often overplayed (imo it's better than not having it, but that's it), using bright colors to identify f/f is interesting. And with everyone switching to multicam/derivatives, it may become a thing in the near future.

>>59595218in what possible senario would you ever have to "ruck in"? there are 3000 miles of moats and the us navy is more powerful than the rest of the world combined and would be until 2450 if they stopped building now. There is zero chance of the USA ever being invaded in your life time. The only situation in which you would need to assault any position is in a fight against the goverment, but the us military cant operate on us soil so your enemy would be cops and only cops. Any anti government force would only need to kill their cop neighbor as he walks out to his car in the morning and now the government has no ability to project power. But all of this is silly because the government is voted into power and if you dont like it, you can vote these people out, which, if they actually were tyrannical to the point of armed rebellion, they would alreadu have been voted out. Your guns are simply to remind the poeple in power to never try anything that would lead to that point. >>59596281im not trolling, im simplying stating that there is no senario where you will need any of this in real life, its all a larp, which is fine, but it means you can just buy whatever it is you want. None of it needs to be "practical" because if practical is what you are after, none of this makes sense. So if you want to attact a bear skin to your pc and helmet and larp as a modern berserker, thats 100% fine because its as equally likely to be used as your 100% accurate deltarangerteam6sad larp kit is and therefore as equally practical and valid

On top of that I have probably 2 dozen sets of IIIA armor (front/back/sides) with carriers in my shed. >>59595082A few papers on this, looking rn for one that's very digestible and talks mainly about UAS/UAV's role (obvious), I think S2U might have shared it. Also can learn a decent bit from interviews on WillyOAM's channel with volunteers fighting over there, one was 'NuckingFutsYuri'? In his (possibly somebody else's) I remember a couple pieces:>suppressors were overrated* (gotta debate this one, rubs me wrong)>One of the most valuable things he brought was a little camp/backpacking stove>volunteers from 1st first world armies were totally unwilling to accept the lack of air support and dipped*Probably because of how dirty suppressed weapons are, combined with this guy seeming too stupid to understand the value of a suppressor balanced with the need to clean the rifle more often. Considering most people over there volunteering are dumb as shit, I can't be too surprised. Overall the topic deserves more attention...I'll do some digging on the aspects you mentioned>>59595423Quite the opposite, kinda thicc and way too ugly to be gay. I think you're referring to the patch as Fagword Observations Group slop? Got it for free from a shooting buddy...I've actually got the mod/admin on their channel heated and defensive with the shit I talk on them. Never bought any of their stuff, same with GBRS & Trex arms. Most embarrassing thing I own is the MCB chest rig from viktos, but it was $70 and I needed something cheap and fast for a class
I don't understand why some posters whine so much about larping. Everything's a larp until it's not. You should be larping to figure out if your weapons and gear are going to work for you long term. Also, not everyone's training for the booooogaloooo or whatever WROL scenario some of you fantasize about. Some people are focused on 2020 riots type civil unrest threats (which imho is a far more realistic threat to be training for, especially with the election coming). I guess widespread power grid failure is a possibility, but a Ukraine-like all out warfare scenario in America is extremely unlikely.>>59599671>Probably because of how dirty suppressed weapons areIt takes a few minutes to wipe down a BCG and run a bore snake through a barrel. Did that guy just not carry any tools to maintain his rifle?
>>59600468>I don't understand why some posters whine so much about larping. Everything's a larp until it's not.I think partially because it's gaslighting.
>>59600468>Did that guy just not carry any tools to maintain his rifleProbably not, I think he'd even served somewhere but can't be sure. I agree though>sketchiest thing that happened to me after firing 500-600 rounds suppressed (no cleaning, occasional BCG surface lube) was my trigger stopped resetting from the carbon/grit. >Lubed the trigger pack - totally g2g for the rest of the session>caved and finally, properly cleaned my rifle the next dayrifle was pushing 2k at least without a proper clean/just lube beforehand so I'm not even mad. Glock was probably over that and I decided to clean her too. I'm a bad man I know...On a more constructive note: Hoppes boresnake vs Otis ripcord? The former seems to pack down better but does the ripcord clean better?
>>59588616bros, should I buy anything from Salomon while I still have a great discount? I already have Quest Forces and low X Ultra 4 What's the most stereotypical operator boot?
>>59589323Seconding ditching the Molle panels and just getting a roll of velcro for attachments
>>59600678I use the Ripcord myself. Bought Otis' "3 gun" pack for .223, 9mm and 12g and they've all been good. I have very little experience with the Hoppes bore snakes to really compare, but the Ripcords are great for anyone wary of brass bristles for whatever reason.

Can anyone help me out? I'm looking to make a costume of these nightmare fellers from An American Werewolf in London.Any idea of what german wear would closest resemble their outfits, without any obvious nazi insignia? Any help would be much appreciated
>>59600678ripcord all the waythe bronze brush is unnecessary and I've had two boresnakes rip between the string and the actual cleaning bit, whereas ripcords are all one piece, plus they clean better imo
>>59588616Hello, asking this here because arg is fucking annoying and idk where else suppressors are discussed.I want to get a dual use suppressor for my 308 hunting rifle and my 5.56 home defense ar. I will only need it to shoot those calibers but I would probably throw it on a .22 if it was compatible. I would think more durability and longer lasting materials are more important to me than minor noise reduction. Budget is around $800. Suggestions I've seen so far are dead air nomad ti, but I definitely am new to suppressors. What should I look for? I am not interested in buying more suppressors, just one for those two purposes is enough.
>>59589181https://tacswap.com/post/64ee140a35b1121d24824076just saw these btw...>>59605566a .30 cal can will accommodate that (.22 included, all about the size of the hole). You don't get quite as good performance out of it when shooting smaller caliber ie 5.56, may produce a lil more flash, but still good performance. I prioritized durability and settled on a surefire RC2, which seems to be the most bombproof can available based on tests. It's not just the can, but the mount, which will probably have to be a QD if you're moving it to different guns (RC2 also dominates here). Only thing I regret is not getting the Mini, though the full-size holds up across all barrel lengths including SBRs. Supposedly the RC3 (not released) is a flow-through design, which I'm also jealous of, but compromises gotta be made somewhere. You may also want to look into B&T suppressors that fit on Surefire QD mounts, they're actually cheaper (though be mindful of which mounts they're compatible with - ie not the CTN).imo /gq/ and /nvg/ are superior alternatives to /arg/, way more people actually going outdoors and using their shit>>59602207>>59605333settled. I've gotten a boresnake stuck once (in a shotgun I think, weird), but fortunately never ripped one off the string. Would suck...
Do those US army level 2 fleece thermals that VS has up now do a decent job for layering under a jacket?
>>59605566+1 for the big rc2, doesn’t suppress 556 as well as the small rc2 but definitely takes a lot of the edge off, is also aesthetically long. Their qd system really fucks too
>>59606408>big rc2, doesn’t suppress 556 as well as the small rc2wdhmbt
>>59605566Dont shoot .22lr through your center fire suppressor. Check out the rugged Alskan 360 and the SICO Omega 36M they are all very good multical cans. Surefire cans are heavy and old only reason I can think of to get one is if you are a clonefag. Its not even cheap>>59606553Any multical can is going to sacrifice performance for 556 since it isnt optimized for it.
>>59606802troo and sorry, I thought he was saying the mini suppressed better but now i see big/small is reference to caliberalso troo regarding .22/rimfire thru cans, clogs up the baffles faster and eventually it's just a barrel extension
>>59606553One rc2 is bigThe other is smallThey both fit sf 556 muzzle devices
>>59606892Interesting, I might be learning something. For 5.56, I thought there was only the RC2 (like 6-7") and the RC2 MINI (lil longer than the warden). The can on top looks longer than the common/regular sized RC2...because it's 7.62/ .30 cal?
>>59606922Yes, the 762rc2 is like 8.5” or something and the 556rc2 is 6.5” or somethingThe 762 fits on 556 mounts but I believe the inverse is not trueThere are also ‘minis’ of both varieties but I have no experience with them or how effective they areThey also have MG rated cans and a titanium 762 can for weight reduction which might interest you depending on how you hunt
While I cook up a post on lessons from Ukraine, can we talk about security while camping? I love how being in nature forces you to let go of so many things, but as night rolls in and I begin to set up shop, I always feel vulnerable. Part of me likes to stay on the move until the last second I know I can get my shelter up/fire going, but no matter what I always feel somewhat exposed, and everything comes with a trade-off>bigger fire illuminates more but is more visible>closing windows on tent reduces situational awareness>opening windows on tent means anybody can peer in while I sleep>tripwires can help alert but also give a false sense of security if they're spotted (plus take up space and aren't applicable everywhere)I brought my rifle last time and did a little late night perimeter check before bed, blasted the woods with white light looking for eyes (saw none). But of course, anybody even partly facing my direction would have seen the 1k lumens and gone wtf. I slept with my pistol holstered (hot) next to my head, and my rifle alongside my lower body with the sling wrapped around my sleeping bag/legs. Figured nobody could grab it without me knowing (unless they fiddled with the QDs but hopefully I'd notice). What's everybody's thoughts on all this??
>>59608037Strings with some cans dont camp alone bring a dog or quit being a pussy. There is some high tech shit you could use but its more work
>>59608067Buddy system is a good rule of thumb and I rarely camp alone. Cans on string could work, but lil bear bells or something would pack easier. It's still possible the tripwire's spotted anyways. Autumn is nice for dem crunchy leaves. Admittedly, I'm more worried bout people innawoods - animals are just doing their thing. I almost felt more vulnerable with a rifle than with a pistol I can conceal easily. Pretty firm believer in that whole loot box theory when it comes to strutting around in gear if SHTF. I do kinda wish I'd brought my nods but what other high tech shit you talking bout willis?>bring dogalways

>>59608397Why ask us? If you want to get a high cut, go ahead. I personally prefer it. KustomACH does a good job modifying ACHs. They'll drill 3 holes for modern NVG shrouds too.

>>59595136What vest is that? I like the retro look
>>59610108Yeah, you guys across the pond are in different situations. Weapons sent to Ukraine going "missing," shifty Ukrainians entering multiple countries, Russia probably seems like a very real threat to Poles and others nearby. Hell, look what happened in France this past summer with the multi-day riots. I never heard anything about how many people were killed or injured during those riots.Being an American, I just get tired of other Americans' Red Dawn or Civil War 2 fantasy bullshit. Our government is definitely a real threat, no doubt about it, but more pressing matters like all the completely unvetted foreigners pouring across our southern border are what we should really be focusing on. Cartels are a given, but we've got a disturbingly high amount of Chinese people coming across. Seems like very few people are wondering what the fuck those chinks are going to be up to here once the feds lose track of them (and that happens pretty much immediately). And of course there's always the looming threat of more BLM/commie scum riots.

I wouldn't be surprised if they take it too far by going into neighborhoods, and it's around that time I grab the rifle and the plate carrier and wait up in my living room all night. As fun as it can be to imagine some scenario where I need to be a kewl specshul farces larperatoe, but it'll never actually happen. I'm more concerned with roody poos trashing my neighborhood and breaking into my house. >>59588616am I just a gay retard who played way too much airsoft or are the placement of Mags on chestrigs/plate carriers just kinda shit?youre kinda supposed to only reload in cover, so fast mag pouches in the same location as a LBV88 would be the ideal to me since youd be able to reload crouching, prone, up against a wall, vatnik squatting etc etc, having that shit dead center on you is only good for reloading during a time when youre standing completely upright, which is when you should be either shooting or looking for something shoot, even just keeping your head down while standing kinda makes it awkward to reach for
>>59612442>taking coverWhat are you a pussy?

>>59610989I don't like all that exposed tegris. I feel like it'll filet through whatever you're wearing eventually
>>59610989I dislike it: hard/rigid back plate sounds like it could dig into your shoulders and hard back strap sounds pokey, nobody else does hard parts on rigs and I suspect there’s a reason for that. I don’t understand why they have some 5d chess “weave the front nolle flap” together bs instead of a panel like everybody else, and not having velcro as a default is counter to the modularity trends popular now. I also suspect that it’ll cost 200 for what should cost 50 but we’ll see. Product dev is hard and they’re not wearable creators like crye - if you’re going to splash out on a gucci rig I don’t see why you’d do this over an airlite.>>59612442Placement depends on what you’re doing. Are you standing most/all of the time like a cop? Or are you prone? Do you need a dozen mags for prolonged contact or are a few on a belt ok to break contact and leave? Is your system scalable or not? Is it a “grab and go” crisis rig or part of dedicated kit/uniform? No one answer.
>>59613354>I also suspect that it’ll cost 200 for what should cost 50>if you’re going to splash out on a gucci rig I don’t see why you’d do this over an airlitePretty much my thoughts regarding it too. I'm not sure why they incorporated so much tegris into the shoulder straps, harness and back strap. Seems completely superfluous. The shoulder straps, harness and back strap don't do anything that the $80 Lunar Concepts HX harness doesn't do, and the HX harness is one of the most comfy harness setups I've ever tried. So that leaves their modular rig pieces, and I'm not sure who the LEGOs style mixing and matching of pieces for mounting pouches is supposed to appeal to. Their are multiple expander systems out there for placards and chest rigs already (Lunar Concepts expander wings, Beez sidewings, Spiritus Thing 2, etc) that don't require attaching a bunch of little pieces together. And yeah, GBRS will almost certainly charge Crye Airlite money for the base rig.
>>59610989they need to stop. They have a stupid fixation on tegris and clearly aren't manufacturing the gear themselves.

>>59610989Not exactly answering your question but I think I'm just going to pickup the trex arms chest rig. I don't want to pay for a crye avs chest rig itself.
>>59613540I’m confused at its purpose: it doesn’t appear to do anything new or solve a problem people have in a way thats innovative or creative. Its just chest rig: gbrs v 1.tegris. At least the brontosaurus mount is an answer to the short gun raised sights+lam question
>>59612442Its about having it closer to your center of gravity and not swinging around or sticking out past your body to snap or bump on shit fool.

>>59613342Or degrade through uv exposure if youre one of the people who actually touch grass. Fucking stupid. I live in the fucking desert. The sun kills eeeeeverything.
>>59613550Its the only way to "stand out and innovate" nowadays, if you can't make something good slap tegris on it.
>>59613632What's most baffling to me is that they could've come up with something very similar to other current offerings and still sold it to their sycophant fanboys at a premium price. Rather, it looks like they actually dreamt the thing up themselves for the most part, but the design choices are bizarre. The tegris serves no real purpose anywhere. The weight of a rig sits almost completely on the shoulder straps. Where tegris would help is on the base of the rig where pouches are mounted, to help prevent sag on heavy loads. That's exactly why Spiritus and Lunar Concepts use tegris for their expansion systems. GBRS actually managed to use *less* tegris than either of those options.
>>59613897I’m struggling to not reach for the >TBI addled skater bro midwitterycanard for their decision making process, maybe there’s something we’re not seeing? Its like they just found tegris and are using this cool new thing for the lulz
>>59610989I’m convinced these two retards are trolling at this point. Creating solutions that are looking for problems is not a business model in tactical gear industry. This “modular chest rig” introduces a hundred or so failure points into your kit for no actual benefit. Literally no one was demanding a chest rig that is so modular that you can change the individual PALS slots. And their track record of retardation with the hydra mount speaks for itself.

>>59613842It's kind of incredible just how right they got it, isn't it?8 mags, and still enough space for 2 canteens, ifak, and comms. It's everything you could want, except a comfortable webbing setup.
>>59639323its more like theres only so many ways to skin a cat. If you want mags on your chest, want the pouches integrated instead of molle'd and dont want it to open from the front, its all going to two different ways. Its either flap pouches, which means an M83 or chicom derivative, or its open top pouches; which means a wasatch derivative like the taps. Its kinda like how guns all have to work around the same universal human body plan, so the grips and stocks and mags all end up in the same handful of layouts.

The MOLLE-2s in NTC are pretty much used to haul all your crap during the interstate transport and then dump it at whatever you are calling your main area. Unless you have a particular, articulatable mission specific reason for such a massive ruck, you’ll basically never need one so huge in the field. USGI Multicam medium assault rucks are pretty decent, both in size and comfort for anything reasonable. And you won’t look like a tryhard snowflake. After that Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch both have good offerings of rucks in varying sizes. The TT MALICE is huge. Not as big of a main compartment as a MOLLE-2, but I find it hard to imagine packing for a mission and finding it lacking in space. ALICE frame is a bit dated but the pack is the peak iteration of an ALICE. Honestly, if I were you I’d save the money and buy a collapsible camping chair, a camping mug so that you have somewhere to drink the MRE coffee, some decent powdered creamer, one of those multispice containers for food, a headlamp, and a bunch of stuffsacks to best organize all your gear. Also cash money for the burritos.
https://www.amazon.com/CamelBak-Antidote-Accessory-Reservoir-90854/dp/B0097BAQF2Is this something that will work well with a USMC FILBE 3day back pack?
nvm I think something like this is more what I am looking for https://www.camelbak.com/shop/military-industrial/packs/armorbak-100oz-mil-spec-crux/CB-1862.html?dwvar_CB-1862_color=MultiCam
>>59642274Nope. It's a Shellback Shield and it only has a big Velcro pad on the upper chest. It has laser cut MOLLE on the lower part of the carrier and on the cummerbund but not on the top of the rig.
>>59643076>Shellback ShieldAh. I mean, you could try finding a small velcro-backed pouch to slap on there, but I'd be worried about it coming off if you ever do any crawling, especially through thick brush. Might not be a huge concern depending on your use case, though. I think the velcro field on a carrier like that is really meant for ID patches and whatnot.
>>59638959>I live in Colorado (i.e. pretty dry, definitely no jungle). Would you still recommend I buy those jungle boots? (Even if they're pointless in this environment, they do look pretty cool.)Not horrible idea. If the weather and terrain is dry, it's best to use a breathable shoe/boot without a membrane.>Is it a good idea to have holes and mesh in jungle boots? Obviously drainage is important but I figured keeping water out in the first place is more important.Water WILL get in your boots in the jungle (or marshland etc). Having drainage and not having a membrane makes the boot dry faster. You really cant dry boot with gore tex or similiar in the field.

>>59646653The design doesn’t look terrible, but I don’t see why I wouldn’t just get a CoTCCC approved one. If this thing gets approved I’d trust it. I am instantly offput by their namedrop of the CoTCCC for the purpose of making people who don’t read too closely thinking it’s approved.
>>59646714I'm looking for low bulkI'm a machinist and EDCing a full size is a pain
>>59589702I like your setup I hope thats an old pic and have ditched the cuckbrace
>>59646653>>59646752it's a good concept, but until it's TCCC approved it I'm not touching it. The logic is a little broken. I would never carry a TQ by itself, so I don't see the need to compromise just to achieve that. Get a trauma and first aid kit and keep them in a backpack. I work in a big factory and I keep one in my backpack and I have a skinny medic pocket kit in my safety vest pocket. Their video shows someone with an IWB holster (maybe appendix holster) carrying it at 5 o'clock. And most of the other examples they show are clearly not space constrained.
I know absolutely nothing about helmets. Where should I start? Must have some sort of provision to mount nvg. I don't really know a whole lot about mounts/rails.

What's the best dump pouch that doesn't cause mags to beat each other to shit ibside?
>>59646653You should be mire clear there are two and one would and the other wouldnt you fucking piece of shit i dont care if your link says wide fucking spell it out you dumbfuck brand new guerilla marketing newb ass fuck fuck bitch.
>>59648375None of them. Dump pouches are a crutch, you should always reindex unless you're performing an emergency reload from bolt lock in which case you can just drop the mag on the ground. I get why people put them on their kit, but in most cases their use is due to laziness or inefficient manual of arms
>>59646942Youtube. Ask if your dumbfuck newb ass questions then come back whwn you have a more educated question.
>>59648375Dump pouches are all just big open bags. If you're worried about mags rubbing against each other for some reason then just reindex them into the pouch

>>59648482Dump pouches are a pretty bad training scar to have desu. If you need to reload at slide lock you should be dropping the mag not wasting time catching it, reaching around yourself to drop it in the pouch then reaching for a fresh mag. Guaranteed to get you killed in the off chance you ever need to emergency reload.>b-b-but my scooby snacksYea yea, fuck off fatass
>>5964675212 years of machining work and this is what I'm down to for medical EDC. I've probably treated about 25-30 small to medium cuts (half of those on my own dumb self) and never really wished I had more than whats pictured. Don't bother with Snakestaff, they're lying charlatans. Get a SOF-T gen 5, they pack down almost as small and actually work well.
>>59648482Reindexing is like racemixing. If the mag is empty or near empty, its tainted and shouldnt be put anywhere near the good clean full white mags. If its in the pouch, it should be full; if its not full it should be separated. I also dont see the fantasy of not having time to dump the mag, if youve managed to fire 30 rounds and the problem is still not solved; you should already be in cover and being covered by your buddies and thus you absolutely have the luxury of pocketing a mag rather than losing it in the mud.
>>59650665You're a fucking retard>draw mag from pouch>change mag>put empty mag in pouchDoing anything other than that is retarded. Running around with 3 empty mags rattling around in your cargo pocket is stupid.
>>59650576Fuck you idiot, and your made up scenario. Sneaking that little "if" there. Dump pouches are useful. You suck, get better. Skill issue. P.s. some companies purposefully make their placards hard to reindex on purpose because they think you are stupid and what you said is stupid, spiritus for example. "Training scar" shut up clown, thats not how you use that.
>>59647029Its been years since I saw a smersh for less than 450, so no I dont think its going to be worth it. That said, its a belt with pouches and yoke and its robustly built; so if you actually got a good deal on it then yeah theyre decent.
who has the best price on surplus ACH helmets this shit is supposed to be $60 its 20 year old used trash all the ones im seeing are like $250
>>59651909>Dump pouches are useful. You suck, get better. Skill issue.I draw a full magazine, remove the empty magazine from my rifle, insert the full one while holding the empty one, then reindex the empty magazine into my mag pouch. You remove the empty magazine from your rifle, move your hand all the way down to your belt line to drop it in a dump pouch, then move your hand all the way out to your plate carrier to draw a full magazine and only then bring it up to your weapon to insert it. You then have to find an opportunity while in combat to move your hand all the way back down to your belt line to fish around in your dump pouch to find that empty magazine just to bring it all the way up to then reindex it for storage. Dump pouches are a completely unnecessary step in the middle which only increases the likelihood of you losing your magazine out of the top of your dump pouch when bounding.
>>59651909You okay, little buddy? Take a deep bresth. You can keep your little snack pou- I mean your """breaching charge SSE pouch""" on your airsoft belt. It's ok. You do you.

I'm assembling a raider right now and want to use a single point sling for it (I think it's one of the only guns a single point would actually be useful on). I used a Magpul MS3 before we found out that single points suck on carbines. Thinking about getting an MS4. What do you guys think? Is there a reason not to? Is there a sling that is objectively significantly better?
>>59652481Or maybe a Haley D3?
>>59651950You really don't know where to be looking, do you? I find them on the used market for about 150$ all the time. Paid 120$ for mine 8 months ago
>>59652481There's not a lot of info out there for this specific use. You'll have to be the test subject, Anon.
>>59652481Haven't used a lot of single point slings, but the best one I've used has been the Lunar Concepts one:https://wisemencompany.com/baseline-single-point-sling/My buddy has that sling on his MP5K clone and he's bigger than me, but adjusting the sling to my body and then back to his was super quick. If I had a need for a single point sling, I'd just buy that one.Kit Badger did a video on it a while back.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RcbCKY6ew4
>>59653122I'll do so and get back to you guys.>>59653136I like it. It seems pretty straightforward, well designed, and the price is right. I'm torn between a the Magpul because I can get a knockoff for $20, a Haley D3 because I've always wanted one and it looks comfy/like it's the best designed, and now this because this seems like a great middle ground.
>>59652247Or you could do what you do, draw ful mag, remove empty mag from rifle, insert fresh one while hokdimg empty one, but then instead of reindexing, you dump it in your dump pouch. That's what I do.
>>59651426You should only have one mag in your hand at a time. Holding both the old and fresh mags in your hand at one time is flat range bullshit.>Running around with 3 empty mags rattling around in your cargo pocket is stupid. Its hardly a burden.
>>59653006Guess not. Facebook buy/sells or something?
>>59653136I've gotta say, the copperhead was my dumbest purchase as a gun owner. Glad I scored it for $1k, but I literally have no use for a 6lb brick with the ballistics of a G26. I can only justify it bc it's a great gun for my girl to shoot, assuming she doesn't lose a finger. If I can't find another cheap upper for it down the road, it's getting sold.
>>59654600>doesn't train the L reloadBro do you even scream RELOADING while engaging?
>>59613267what is on this killers left side with the nagoya antenna? gotenna or SDR or?
>>59655072>I can only justify it bc it's a great gun for my girl to shootIt's funny you mention this because in my opinion, short 9mm carbines have been obsoleted by .300 BLK shorties. AND YET, out of all my guns, both my gf and 15yo niece feel most confident with an incredibly basic 7" barreled Glock mag AR-9 I own. No roller delay, no radial delay, nothing fancy at all, just plain old blowback. They both think it's fun and easy to shoot. Probably the best option for either of them in a home defense situation. My niece does like my 11.5" 5.56 AR too though. She actually shoots it pretty well. She's quickly becoming my flat range larperator battle buddy. Shit's funny as hell.
>>59655072Everyone should have small 9mm PCC they are fun and cheaper to shoot. You can also stuff it in a small bag for a cooler conceal carry
>>59655793Not entirely wrong. Same manual of arms as an AR so it is a good training tool. And definitely a force multiplier compared to my CC
