At work today I was going through a contract for hiring of armed guards onboard tankers transiting the gulf of aden area and noticed that the rifles used were specified as the Zastava M2010. Any idea why this particular rifle was selected?
Cheap rifle in a larger caliber you dont have to worry about throwing overboard
>>58339462interesting question now i wonder what would the best rifle for ship defense against pirates, i think that something relatively short and in powerful caliber would be preferable, maybe a mk48 lmg
>>58339555are there international regulations of what guns can be used for ship defense?for example are machine guns allower or just rifles
>>58339462Low cost. It's also easy to find in places where EU guards go to get weapons certification (because individual gun ownership is hard to do in most EU countries, weapon certification happens off country), for instance some Greeks go to Serbia for their weapons training and certification. t. Maritime security knower.
>>58339579For the longest time armed guards on ships were utterly forbidden, to the extent that all kinds of weird cope "weapons" like water cannons and noisemakers were implementedI wonder if someone recently got their head out of their ass
I always thought they should keep one of these on board to shoot at them when they're farther out.
>>58339606they were intentionally hamstrung by leftists sympathetic to the pirates. I've seen people defend those scumfucks and poachers because it's inbred lightbulb head niggers doing it. One day every Rhino and Elephant will be extinct because of Chang and Mbuntu and Whites will be blamed for it. Pirates and Poachers deserve genocide
>>58339504>throwing overboardI have seen lots of pictures of them throwing perfectly good guns into the sea while they are still in international waters before they sail into gun controlled ports. Why not just unload the weapons to a smaller ship that waits in international waters and brings the weapons back onboard for their next job?
>>58339666They dindu nuffinsNobody should fear for their life every time they attack a merchant ship with AK-47s and RPGs and try to take the crew hostage.
>>58339687Cheaper to dump 10k of guns than pay for a whole extra boat with crew and fuel.
>>58339579Not that I know of. Machine guns are sometimes used but rarely. You have to understand this is a commercial service, low cost is the primary (and sometimes, only) concern. This translates to shitty guns, shitty gear, shitty living conditions for the guards, etc etc.
>>58339642I would prefer blinding infrared lasers. Invisible to the human eye. You need some sort of digital camera with IR filters removed or night vision to see the lasers. The dumbfuck pirates wouldn't even be aware they are under attack until they all are blind.
>>58339462i think i know what the best sea nigger killer would be my conclusion is that south african neopup 20mm grenade launcher
>>58339666To be fair, the ones doing the 'pirating' are the lowest on the totem pole and stranded deep into the shipping lanes for days on end. They have a significantly higher chance of just dying at sea waiting for a ship than boarding one.
>>58339705exactly because they shouldn't even be able to see the drone that takes them out. That's the real answer here. Small UAV's for merchant vessels. It's disgusting the cucked west has even allowed shit to get to this level. You don't hear about Chinese piracy because the Chinks killed most of them
>>58339753Way too expensive. But it would be cool.
>>58339736Nothing can save somalia. It's not even a race issue (even though I am racist). When you get to that level of multigenerational inbreeding there's nothing to salvage
>>58339772Somaliland is salvageable, Somalia needs to be taken over by its neighbors though.
>>58339729yeah i get what you mean but i was just wondering if money wasnt an issue what would be perfect for that role, the pragmatic answer would probably be to just give crew members cheap aks maybe an rpk if you can aqquire one so you just shoot full auto bursts at those motorboats to sink them
>>58339811Somalia needs fumigation. Their original genome as inferior as it is gone forever.
>>58339814Machine guns are pretty good, combined with proper nests made for them. Everything above that is pretty much overkill considering you have to deal with starved skinnies in shitty boats carrying shitty AKs.https://youtu.be/cy6kUvI_YXY
>>58339666Incredibly based. I fantasize about mogging around Afrika with a few rifles killing insect-changs for raping the ecology.
>>58339462Pure speculation, it's a low cap semi auto without a pistol grip to comply with gun laws of many ports of call and large caliber that'd do some damage to a 25hp Somalian outboard.
>>58339736G O O D .
>>58340063No weapon laws in international waters, some contactor companies keep am armed vessel in outer waters for pick up and drop off of weapons before port.>t.worked at a stevadore facility as a sub-contractor for a bit
>>58339687Unironically cheaper to toss the guns. The cost of these guns is a rounding error in the upkeep/crewing costs of a sea vessel.
>>58339730I've seen pictures of bullheads wearing pink, protective glasses in speedboats. It definitely does happen.
Because thats a stupid expensive piece of gear that can be written off as a loss since merchant ships generally toss their guns overboard before making port.Reality is probably some turkshit pump guns and maybe a rifle but writing off $20000 worth of expensive guns you never had looks like free money
>>58340201Yeah, I think it's time to make friends with some commercial shipping captains.
>>58340270>Because thats a stupid expensive piece of gearIt used to range from $500 to $1,000 before being discontinued depending on where you got it.
>>58339462A full size rifle round in a semi-auto rifle. So basically the gun you posted OP, or AR10s. I wouldn't even put a scope on it. I'd zero it with iron sights and call it good. You're sinking small shitty boats in the ocean, not sniping a guy peeking his head out of cover at 200 yards. And you and your buddies are all shooting at said little boat. There's zero ways to lose that confrontation. There's actual recorded videos of this happening.
>>58340324A turkshit 12ga is like 50 bucks with bells on it
>>58339590That’s an oxymoron.
>>58340592And it's doing fuck all against niggers armed with AKMs who start taking potshots at you from 300-500 yd away, what's your point?
>>58340592Besides, it's more like $200 (with said bells).
I mean, when it comes to zastava, m90s are priced at an average of around $12 hundred and m2010 go for $950 on average. funnily enough I've seen m70s for $299 so I if I had to guess i think it's considered California compliant with it's 10 round detachable mag, but I don't know if the finger hole still makes the grip a fin grip.
>>58341311Afaik thumbhole grips were banned. Tldr California updates their awb and even if you follow the letter of the law and skirt around it they still chimp out. There was a guy that sold with a modified trigger area that by law were technically not salt rifles but he was still fucked with by the ca doj.

>>58340295Captains dont command ship`s security detail and have no control over how they perform their specific duties or what they do with equipment. .
>>58340044>killing insect-changs for raping the ecology.what about all the strip-mining euros?
>>58340044Based ecowarrior. The rape of Nanking wasn't harsh enough.
>>58341511Most developed countries fill in strip mines after the resource is depleted so the area can recover ecologically over time. The insectoids would kill every last fish in the ocean if they thought it would make their dicks bigger. They are not the same.
>>58339687You mean to tell me I can just follow a ship just outside territorial waters and get free funs out of it?
>>58340250>Laser rifles used in combat against 80IQ speedboat piratesWe're living in the future, too bad it's really fucking gay
