If you look at an M85 magwell, which is unmolested for import, there is no "hump" of material near the mag release/trigger guard. This is why polymer mags are really hard to insert because the back of the mag gets stuck on this left over material.I am guessing this was done at Zastava USA to prevent their CNC from crashing into the mag release assembly when they were machining the single stack magwell into a double stack. After trying out a variety of configurations on my mini beryl including the beryl folding stock, tantal stock and beryl collapsible stock, the cheap polymer fixed stock that comes with the full size Beryls and polymer handguards are the most comfy to use. Go figure.

hey guise, i'm the anon who got an M90 for 700 bucks from last thread.i forgot to make a post last thread about this. Idk what the guy was shooting but there is some of this blue oxidization going on in the gas block, end of the piston, and on the muzzle. I'm not really pissed or anything cause i got it for 700 dollars. Of my few AKs i've never had to deal with corrosion cause i don't mess with corrosive shite. Should i just soak it in vinegar or something? Or should i even do anything in the first place? I don't want it to end up getting worse. k thx bye

It's possible there's a ton of carbon buildup impeding gas.Short AKs have a problem short stroking which is why krinks and M85/M92s have boosters. They increase the backpressure which increases gas going back into the system so the bolt reciprocates harder
