Has literally anyone outside of law enforcement EVER stopped a threat with a gun-stashed rifle? Is there any documented case?

Just seems like such an edge case to stash a rifle in a truck for “emergencies”. If I have time to recognize a threat in the distance and get to my car, I’m driving the fuck away. If the threat is in my immediate vicinity, I’m drawing my CCW pistol. What the FUCK is the point of this truck gun LARP?

>run back towards the threat with your larpy truck gun
>get shot by cops / good samaritans mistaking you as the threat

Fuck that. Got my CCW to protect me and my family, not you subhumans. I’m getting out of there if I can.

That cartel dude assfucked a border patrol dude with his truck SBR, the video was great and the other agents set the dude up to die
>>
>>58340301

So a criminal used a rifle against law enforcement. Cool. We’ve also all seen that video of that Vietnam vet chimping out and killing that young deputy.

I’m asking about any citizen stopping an active shooter with a truck gun. Has it EVER happened? And I’m question the philosophy behind it. If you can get to your vehicle, why run back towards the threat? Muh sheep dog larp? Just fucking drive away.

For self-defense? Protecting your from carjacking? A million other uses?

Btw I carry a German gun in my German sports car, nigger.
>>
>>58340491

I carry an HK in my BMW. We are not so different, sir. But HOW does a rifle come into play here?

>has to be stored in the back of the vehicle, can’t access while driving
>if you don’t lock it up, it’s a prime candidate for theft if you leave it there
>if you do lock it up, you can’t access it quickly when you need it

I can half understand a backpack rifle or something like that, but a gun dedicated to the back of a truck seems to have very limited use and definitely seems to be part of a pretty sophisticated LARP for a lot of people.
>>
>>58340491
Well pardon us Mr. Gucci loafers
>>
>>58340536
>But HOW does a rifle come into play here?
I have a ranch, and I carry it with me in case I need to shoot hogs or catch some ne'er-do-well on my property.
>>has to be stored in the back of the vehicle, can’t access while driving
Nope, my 10.5" AR either stays on my lap or belted into the passenger seat. Not on public roads though obviously.
>>if you don’t lock it up, it’s a prime candidate for theft if you leave it there
Not really, it's on a several hundred acre ranch. I bring it in at night anyway and bring it back out when I have to make my morning rounds.
>dedicated to the back of a truck
Your fatal mistake is assuming guns only belong in the back. The way I carry it works, but in an ideal world your have an upright rack mounted in your center console for your rifle(s). That's the optimal placement imo.
>>
>>58340626

Cool man, you actually have a practical use for it. The majority of people you see talking about them are urbanites or suburbanite guntubers and Reddit LARPers, though. Do you think someone living in a cul de sac and regularly parking their car at their office job’s parking lot and gas station parking lots should keep a rifle in their vehicle? That’s who I’m making fun of, not you
>>
>>58340653
No not really. "Suburban cowboy" cul-de-sac LARPers are insufferable faggots just trying to fit a stereotype. Rifles have no real practical use in being kept in automobiles in urban areas. They're just way too conspicuous, and too slow to make ready. My truck guns works because I have a lot of rpactice, be also keep it ready in ways you simply would not be able to on public roads, within city limits.

Hence why I carry that Walther I posted when I'm in the city. To me a "truck gun" isn't limited exclusively to rifles, though I get that's the mental image everyone gets.
>>
>>58340237
>I live in a white neighborhood where I could probably leave a gun lying openly on the seat of my car, parked on the street for a week, and nothing would happen kek.
Nigger you're retarded, these are the exact kinds of neighborhoods joggers will go to to cop expensive shit in home burglaries and car thefts.
>>
>>58340536
Fwiw IMO etc

I agree that if you stow a truck rifle in a difficult to access but unsecurable location that they're pretty dumb and largely pointless outside of extremely unlikely situations(even within the confines of self defense situations which are uncommon themselves). Personally the only time I bother with a car long gun is on road trips or situations where I feel risk is elevated. Then I'm not stowing the gun in a hard to reach location and the rifle is in addition to an on body or very readily accessible handgun. Typically in this situation the rifle would either be ready to go safety on in the foot well of the passenger side covered by a blanket or would be folded and in a partially open bookbag held in place on the passenger seat by running the belt through the straps. It can be grabbed and brought to bear in about 2.5 seconds in either case if I have two free hands(hardly a guarantee obviously), it's really just there to have the option if you have the extra time to go for it and also because I'd like to have a long gun available when I get to my destination instead of just a handgun. Might as well make it an option for the trip between point A and B as well. If I need to make a stop and leave the car then the bag comes with me.
>>
>>58340653
>should keep a rifle in their vehicle?

I keep it in my truck for spur of the moment hunting trips.

I drive around everywhere with a GOA sticker on my car and nothing happened whatsoever. With how many alarms and cameras are everywhere nowadays, they're a lot more skittish about breaking a window and taking the time to go through a car when something valuable is not within IMMEDIATE view. This meme is spread by either retards, or leftists who don't want you carrying/don't want you normalizing gun ownership.

You don't have a CCW. Not once has a single one of you "no fuck you all I won't use my gun to protect someone else" troglodyte posted guns that didn't turn out to be someone else's, and a cowardly little prick like you will die a virgin guaranteed. The one time I met one of you in real life he lived at home and "his" gun turned out to be his stepdad's.

I unironically got in trouble because of one of those once. I was hungry and in a hurry, so I grabbed a yogurt and a spoon, and ate the yogurt when I stopped for gas, tossed the little plastic container, and left the spoon in the cupholder. Then I got pulled over for accidentally cutting off a cop and when he saw the spoon he asked me and my little brother riding with me which of us was "doing dog", which I didn't understand until he explained it was heroin. Luckily I was so indignant, young, and retarded I told him to sniff the spoon and see if it still smelled like key lime yogurt...and the fat fuck actually did it, looked pissed about it, and let us go.
